    [PokeCommunity.com] Favorite Pokémon Tournament 2014 - Psychic

Welcome to the second annual Favorite Pokémon Tournament here in the Pokémon Polls board, where our goal is to determine the favorite Pokémon of the users here at the PokéCommunity! This will be a tournament that lasts several months, where we'll pit almost all the Pokémon from different types together to determine a winner. After we know the winner of each type, we'll add all of those Pokémon to a final poll, where the winner(s) will be crowned champion, and be known as PokéCommunity's favorite Pokémon!

If you haven't had the opportunity, please read the Rules/FAQ to find out more about the tournament:

    Spoiler:

NOTE: Because of the limited number of poll spaces, not all eligible Pokémon have been included. If you want to vote for an unlisted Psychic-type, check the "Other Pokémon" option represented by a (?), and leave a post with your vote.

Now that you know what the tournament is all about, what are you waiting for? Polls will remain open until November 9th, so get voting!

I may have to hand over my man card for saying this, but Cresselia is beautiful. As frustrating as it can be to face competitively (especially if you don't have Knock Off on everything), it is still my favourite Psychic type by a good distance. Recuniclus would probably be next up along with Alakazam. Not in terms of beauty of course but overall design.

Here were my picks, and turns out there are way more Psychics I love than I thought:

Espeon: I always vote for Eeveelutions because of the cuteness. This one however, can actually hit hard and has the speed to be a threat.

Delphox: My second fave final stage Kalos starter, because I love the mage design theme and because foxes are cuddly.

Ralts line: This generation made me become a huge fan of this line after I often overlooked it previously. Especially now that both Gardevoir and Gallade have awesome-looking Mega Evolutions and the fact they focus on different attacking sides makes them complement each other well.

Spoink line: Cute, but I do love the design concept, especially with the pearls they have on them. Spoink also looks so cute with all that bouncing.

Latias & Latios: They are like twins, given the identical-looking Megas plus both are strong and have good stats all around. Although I slightly think Latias is the cuter one so she gets the nod ahead of Latios here.

Espurr line: Another cutie, but Meowstic's differences in movepool based on its gender is a concept I really love. It's something I never saw coming but they pull it off well, given the male's shyness and the female's tougher-looking appearance.

Munna line: Tapirs are a design basis we've had for a Psychic before (looking at you, Drowzee) but I think this line did the concept better. They're also fairly tankish and hit fairly hard as well.

Solosis line: A developing embryo is one of the most interesting designs among Psychic Pokemon, and they're also really cute. Reuniclus is also a pretty big threat under Trick Room.

Gothita line: Of the two version-exclusive Psychics in Unova, I like this bunch slightly more than Solosis' line. Mainly because I like gothic lolita and Gothitelle's cry (at least its original cry, not the 6th Gen one) heavily reminds me of Psycho. Also I used one on my first run in Black so it holds a place in my heart.

Woobat line: Bats with heart noses? I think that's adorable. They may not pack the "oomph" most other Psychic-types have, but make up for it with its interesting abilities plus packing a real good hidden ability with Simple.

Sigilyph: They have a cool design, great stats and be warned, they can be plain annoying to face. Because they run some pretty nasty tricks and I love playing that way when it comes to battle.

Elgyem line: Aliens are like a really great design concept that fits in with Unova so well, but these cuties get so badly overlooked and that makes me sad. Elgyem also acts really adorable in the anime, complete with those cute lights on its hands. I do at least have to give praise to Marriland for using one in his White video walkthrough, because it needs more love.

And also I voted for all the small legendaries there as well (Celebi, Mew, Jirachi and the Lake Guardians) because they're cute, and can pack a punch, typical for a Legendary.

I vote for the Alakazam line since it has a mysterious, sagacious human/goat/fox design. Also their versatility and power.
Also Beheeyem for its alien mythos.
Drowsee and Hypno I find underrated, with a dedicated hypnosis motif.
Xatu line for unique design. One of the cooler Flying-types, in my opinion.
    Jirachi because its' adorable.

Too many to choose from ._.

Mewtwo: Mewtwo is, and always will be, THE Legendary Pokemon to me. It was the one you spent hours trekking through a cave for, then used to storm the Elite Four, laughing like a maniac as it decimated them. It was the most powerful Pokemon in the world, with an amazing dub voice. It started the Pokemon movies. I went to the cinema to see it battle against Mew. Mewtwo was, and still remains, amazing.

Natu/Xatu: Natu is adorable! It's like a tennis ball with wings! I'm not overly keen on Xatu - a combination of creepy dub voice and a bit too weird for my tastes - but Natu is definitely one of my favourite Gen II Pokemon~

Lugia: I remember how awed I was the first time I saw that in its movie. I prefer Ho-oh in terms of design, but Lugia is still unbelievably badass.

Other: Meloetta is a Normal/Psychic type, and Aria form is my favourite Pokemon, so~

My favourite Psychic types are Alakazam, Exeggutor, Starmie, Jynx, Mewtwo, Mew, Espeon, Celebi, Gardevoir, Gallade, Medicham, Metagross, the Lati@s (but mostly Latios), Jirachi, Deoxys, Mesprit, Azelf, Musharna, Sigilyph, Reuniclus, Delphox, (female) Meowstic, and Malamar.

    I voted for:

Mew - I've always been fond of Mew. So cute and playful, and I've enjoyed Mew when I've seen it in the movies.

Natu line - Will's one of my favourite characters in Pokemon and I've always been fond of his Xatu haha. Pretty cool concept and cool designs too.

Espeon - One of my favourite Eeveelutions <3

Lugia - beautiful design, brilliant Pokemon. What's not to like?

Spoink line - so cute and underappreciated imo!

Woobat line - one of my favourite lines from Unova. Love their designs and their concept, and Swoobat was a pretty powerful member of my team on White.

Elgyem line - I love these guys' designs and names <3

    Also voting for:

Exeggcute line - The original Grass/Psychic types! Interesting design and concept though thinking about it now the whole Grass/Psychic thing is a bit weird (I'm guessing it's because of the humanlike heads but eh).

Smoochum line - pls, these Pokemon are great. I love Smoochum's design, so cute, and Jynx is pretty cool as well. Team MegaJynx!

My other vote goes to Cresselia! It's so darn awesome! Plus, I ship the Yin and Yang! Also, Victini gets my vote for being a great fire type!

Mew is also cute, so it gets my vote! It's so playful! Espurr looks interesting, so vote for that kitty! Latios and Latias are very awesome, and I love their signature moves! Luster Purge and Mist Ball!

Psychic types, since gen 6, I been using them more and more. Thanks to my main vote.

    honorable votes:
    • Mew, probably the only legendary I actually love and never been able to use, looks cute and looks 'cat like' moves and sounds like one too.
    • Espeon, I love the Eeveelutions, thats reason enough to love Espeon
    • Delphox is now my most favorite (final) Starter of them all! Love foxes, looks cute and awesome, and really impressed me in various teams

My main vote goes to the two Psychic Felines - Espurr & Meowstic!! just too over cute and have impressed me a lot, to the point of me liking Psychic types and me giving other Psychic types a chance.

I have multiple but my #1 is Definately espeon!

Abra line, Hypno line, Starmie, Jynx, Lunatone, Solrock, Beldum line, Munna line, Sigilyph, Delphox.

I like a lot more psychic types than I thought. Top three imo are Starmie, Hypno, and Jynx.

My favourites are Uxie, Kadabra, Girafarig, Inkay and Natu :)

Kadabra's been a fave of mine for a long time, and because I never had anyone to trade with back in the day I always kept him as he was on my team without getting an Alakazam so needless to say I like Kadabra more lol; Uxie and Girafarig were big parts of my team in their respective 4th gen games and Inkay and Natu are just too cute lol :)

Espeon would have to be my most favorite of all. Not only is it adorable, but it's also pretty fantastic when it comes to battling and whatnot. Thanks to its Magic Bounce ability, it's able to send any non-damaging moves back to opponent, making them fall into their own trap and whatnot, which is pretty unique! Not much Pokémon have this ability, and feel that Espeon's the greatest user do to its overall stats.

Second favorite is Cresselia, mostly due to its battling capabilities (such to see underutilized, though). Few other favorites are Xatu, Mewtwo, Alakazam, and Delphox.

Lunatone and Munna. Definitely plan on getting a Lunatone in my first run of ORAS (probably the deciding factor actually, making me get AS if the version exclusives stick). And I just said this exact same thing about Wailmer in the water thread, but Munna is so cute bouncing up and down. It's always happy and its shiny colors are really interesting.

I think Medicham is my favorite Psychic-type, for reasons I may or may not have mentioned in the Fighting-type thread. (How the fudge did that not show in the main options yet Lunatone and Solrock did?)

Other than that, Delphox has a cool design and I feel bad for when people are always saying it looks ugly.

Reuniclus too, that's another one from Generation V that I like quite a bit. Jelly blob!

Gallade and Espeon are the other two I feel are worth mention, especially the latter which is probably my favorite Eeveelution (although that answer keeps changing).

In case my avatar doesn't make this obvious, my absolute favorite Psychic Pokemon is Gallade. Its design is one of the best among the Gen IV Pokemon, its move pool is crazy-wide, and it has a Mega Evolution with well-distributed stat boosts. Oh, and its Mega also has two freakin' capes, which adds to the awesome factor.

Hmm. ;v; This might be cutting it a bit much but my top five would be Espeon, Xatu, Gallade, Girafarig and Reniculus. All of them are special to me in different ways - whether it be design, battling, memories or just something I associate it with. I love Espeon for being my first psychic type and the one that started it all. Without it, I probably wouldn't of pursued using psychics. Though they should probably work on that shade of purple/pink, it's kinda bleh. :(

Xatu just reminds me of something although I can't really think of what. I like its quirky and interesting design though. Its not complicated like Sigilyph's and the colours fit well together. An overall well-designed pokemon but not one I've used in-game. I've used it a bit in online play though and its been pretty fun so I guess I'll give it the vote for that. ^^

I love fighting and Gallade's like the typical hero of the pokemon series. Well not exactly but it gives off that heroic 'imma save yo' sort of vibe! It also has one of the cooler designs out of all psychic-types and seems to have the power of mind while also the sheer strength of fists. Combining two of the body's most powerful elements is a pretty neat idea although it might not be the main idea of Gallade. Still a theory I like to think of though on its psychic/fighting typing. :D

Girafarig's a giraffe. That was a really boring explanation but y'know. I guess Girafarig just caught my attention with its ability to shoot thunderbolts. Reniculus, I've used in B/W, B/W2 and X/Y. I just love the idea, its blobbiness and how it can KO almost anything I throw at it. :D It's only downfall would be how many times I've messed up its name, so I'm working on it. :p And those were my top five! I'm sure there are others that I've forgotten though, haha.
