Spinoff/Mobile GO Chat

I got one shiny Wooloo so far. Here's hoping to get another. And I also found shiny Pineco just few meters from shiny Wooloo.

That aside, this Galar event is the first time in almost a half a year that I'm somewhat enjoying and it really got me to open GO when I'm outside more often.

I am so excited for the next community day - I've been meaning to get back into PoGo & where I just moved to is PokeStop galore. When I go for runs, my goal is to have those eggs incubating and stops-ah-swiping.

Same here. I took a break recently and with the weather cooling down (eventually) I can finally go out without sweating so much!

Also, did anyone get the recent update on the "power spots" -- those purpley towers with an X? There's two near my home and three near my office. I haven't had the time to research, but can someone explain their purpose?

It is for doing Max-Raid battles, where you can catch the boss Pokémon after winning there, who will have access to G-Max moves.

The typing of their G-Max moves will depend on typing of the fast move. And those moves are usable inside these purple raids only. Winning there also rewards with energy, which is needed for leveling up the G-Max moves.

After winning, you can place your Pokémon there to defend it and earn some goodies along the way.

So, considering the Dynamax addition, are you people evolving the Galar starters?

The current Galar starters that can be found in the wild aren't compatible with the newly introduced Dynamax mechanic, so I don't know if I should evolve the ones I have or save the Candies for when a Dynamax version of these Pokémon becomes available. Any clues about if that's planned to happen anytime soon?

I wish I knew. I'm holding off on my good ones because I know they'll get a community day with better moves later, but I have no idea if these dynamax ones will even be that good since they are going to be replaced with the gmax forms later. Niantic and fomo lol

I did evolved Thwarkey, because the special research had asked me to do so, and I am wondering that special research holds at the end, considering that it is 10+ pages special research. Special Research which rewarded Hoopa-C, was also long research, so making some wild guesses doesn't sounds too bad !

Well, thankfully it didn't take long for Galar starters to appear in Dynamax spots. I chose Grookey path too, so now I'm happier at least I have a Dynamax one I can fully evolve.

No idea how are they going to implement Gmax. Honestly they should make it possible to upgrade from Dynamax to Gmax, it would make more sense than having them as completely separate things. It would suck as well for those who spent a lot of candies evolving/powering up Dynamax Charmander-Charizard just to be able to solo Beldum.

Got 15 shiny Sewaddle in the end, and a bonus shiny Zamazenta! Pretty okay comm day all things considered.
Congrats on the shiny Zamazenta! I was going for a shiny of either it or Zacian since I missed their shiny distributions in Sword/Shield, but no luck. Still had a ton of fun seeing them in pogo and raiding for them. Excited for the upcoming Giratina and Darkrai raids though!

Nevermind my previous thoughts on Gmax, they implemented it in the worst way possible. Apparently you need like 40 people with Dynamax Venusaurs and Rillabooms just to defeat one Gmax Blastoise, and everyone must be physically there because Remote Raid Pass is not an option either.

Literally impossible for people like me who live in some random town in a country where Pokémon Go isn't even that popular. You have to be extremely lucky to even find 3-4 people for a regular legendary Raid already, this is just unreachable.

No luck with Gmax raids either for me. I hope they eventually let you invite people and remote raid them. I'm also in a small town with few active players, so it's hard to get a big group together.

Completely agree with you. And this gets especially important because their utility only lies in those Dynamax raids, and I also expect that many people already have CD version old starters and other Pokemon, barring Galarian starters.

Pokemon GO Wild Area is the upcoming event, and I am wondering for the Mighty Pokemon, which will be released in this event. Those Pokemon are super-hard to catch, but good thing is that they are already at Lv. 40 with no weather boost, and could be between Lv. 45 - Lv. 50 with weather boost. And their IV floor is also astounding, which is 13/13/13.

This sounds good, as we will be saving up our resources for powering up the Pokemon.

I know this may be old news by now, but I found a shiny skwovet even though I missed the galar event week. (I thought skwovet and wooloos shiny chances would've decreased after the galar event week(s) ended. Also managed to find my favorite blue legendary xerneas. Recently, unrelated to this I caught a shiny whismur and hatched my first shiny, a pancham.

I can't believe I actually encountered this:

Glad they programmed these to never flee, otherwise it would be impossible without a Master Ball.

Amazing catch for sure, and luckily CP is also not at the point from where usage can get hindered. So of course you can use it in UL and showcase the shiny of the rarest catch !!
