Have you ever caught 'em all?

Truthfully? I've only ever completed the Pokédex in Blue. I have a spreadsheet of Pokémon I still need to catch and eventually I'd like to try to say I've done it.

I caught them all in Y (except for 2 or 3 mythicals I will never be able to get). I'm very close in White 2- I have no more than 30 left to catch still.

i've done it in X and sword (well, with what is available) and i'm working on doing so in emerald. i was trying to do it in ultramoon (without knowing the national dex is not a Thing) and alphasapphire but got bored. i would love to try in crystal some time. and i did the hoenn regional dex in sapphire when i was a kid, that was the first of any dex i completed. i know it's not for everyone, but i genuinely enjoy completing the pokedex. the collecting aspect of pokemon is one of my favorite parts.

I kinda just decided to complete a living dex in X because I had the time and didn't really know what to spend it on and kinda just wanted the Shiny Charm so I could get a shiny Mawile. Never ended up getting it.

I've kinda just transferred that up every generation so I could get the Shiny Charm for a lot less work, but the Galar Dex in Sword was something I did before HOME dropped and did everything on my own (that I could, until I needed Shield exclusives) as a mental health project because I really needed a break at the time.

Earlier this year I heard people saying that Gen IV is the hardest to get a national dex completion because of requiring the GBA games, necessary transfers, and the lack of options like the GTS and Wonder Trade. I was already using an emulated copy of Platinum to see if it was possible to transfer my save file to a physical cartridge so I could help some friends of mine, and I ended up using that save file to test if I can emulate things like the Pal Park and Dual Slot. I have a national dex of 489 and I kind of don't want to finish it, just so I can prove I didn't hack in a full national dex. Maybe leave it at 492 or something.

I never completed a National Dex but I did complete a few of the regional ones. I completed the Pokedex in both Sun and Ultra Sun but the one I'm most proud of is in White 2 where I have complete living regional Unova B2/W2 Pokedex.

Only in Red.

Was fun completing it. But I think it felt more rewarding to complete it than the reward itself from Professor Oak.

My first pokemon game was Leaf Green, and I think I was around 138 in the Regional Dex. I couldn't get the trade evolutions or starters.

i completed a living SwSh dex before the expansions. haven't played much since then, i do plan on doing the same once i stop being lazy and get the expansions.

Only in HeartGold. I was able to complete that Pokedex through a lot of perserverence. Migrating, trading Pokemon holding the Sinnoh fossils, evolving, and etc. I saw the entire Pokedex in White, though. I've seen 649 but I haven't caught 649. I'm still missing a lot of Pokemon I have to breed and evolve in that game to get the full Pokedex, but... I'm too lazy to go and finish it ten years later, lmfao.

Sun and then Let's Go Eevee. In the latter case because I wanted the Shiny Charm. I don't see myself doing it that often unless it's a game I really want to shiny hunt in like LGE was.

completed my dex in moon and then again in shield version! not really that interested in completing giant pokedexes so this was convenient for me, especially for shiny hunting reasons. :x

I've never completed the Pokédex (besides just seeing all of them). I am trying to complete it in Sword though.

Blue, Gold, sorta in Sapphire (had no trading partner so I got all Pokemon I could get by catching and evolving), X, Omega Ruby and Moon.

The one thing that I got out of doing this endeavor: I don't feel the need to do it ever again. It was ok in the earlier generations but nowadays there are just way too many, especially if you're starting from scratch.
