How is your eyesight?

I have always had horrendous vision, was put in glasses as soon as I was in first grade when teachers saw that I could barely make out what was on the blackboard. I prefer contact lenses today, but still keep glasses handy too.

It's a near-sighted vision type- I can read without contacts if the text is right in from of me, say the book in my hand, but words blur out after a couple of feet away, so wouldn't be able to read a sign post, and I have to wear corrective lenses by law to drive- I am in the territory of legal blindness without them. I believe I am 20/200 in one eye, and the other is even worse.

What about my pc siblings, how good or bad are your eyes?

My vision is 20/20, I'm pretty sure. Though, I do look at screens a lot, so I have since strained them, but other than that, my vision is perfect.

Not good. I wear prescription glasses.

Probably made worse from being given prescription glasses as a child and not wanting to wear them.

As an adult these things are a god send. I love being able to actually see.

I don't remember my exact scrip but it's in the -6.00 to -7.00 range (about ~20/600?), last I checked anyway. It's worse every time I go to the optometrist though so I haven't been back in a couple years lol, glasses are expensive and it feels like I 'outworsen' them immediately anyway so no sense in getting new glasses every year, I'm fine with things being a little bit blurry even with my glasses on.

Pretty bad nearsightedness runs in my family so it's never been a big deal to me, it was just assumed I would grow to need glasses and I'd have progressively bad sight my whole life. When I was a kid I actually didn't know adults could have 20/20 vision because nobody in my family does, I thought every adult I met who were not wearing glasses were wearing contacts and it was just something everybody deals with.
