Find any excuse to get near them (are they a classmate? neighbor?) and try to comment on something on their person (a pin of a band/tv show, graphic tee, etc), or a recent event. Or just casually be like "Hey, sup?"

As someone who has been in and out of this site for years now just jumping in and posting stuff can get you somewhere. And most people are perfectly okay with random VMs unless otherwise specified in their profile. Not that I should be saying much since I have too much social anxiety to random VM people regardless haha.

As someone who wears Pokémon shirts a lot to work, I can fully say that I have yet to experience someone judging me for my interests. People either don't comment on what I wear, or they comment that they like my shirts.
