You can get bluetooth receivers that plug into the car sockets! My car is old enough that I have the same problem but they're an easy fix.

The receivers play to your FM radio, so you just tune them to an unused radio station and then connect your BT device to the receiver and voila. The only downside is that you might get some static from other passing cars here and there.

As for disc stuff... honestly I burn CDs for my car just because I like having them. No idea why I do but oh well!!! Physical versions of things is always my go-to if possible.

And offline games are definitely mwah. Or at least primarily offline ones, i.e. stuff like Pokemon where there is online features that are optional but can be entirely ignored.

Almost. Entirely ignored...
I'm looking at you Palafin....

theres too much words i have to read in this thread after a day which means people are actually using their minds, unfortunately i do not have one so here's frisk

Co-op online can be good, but there's a reason I don't do pvp games online... it draws in too many toxic and overly competitive people who start getting mad at you if you do something wrong or even unoptimal in their eyes. Provided I can actually even call them people =P

This is definitely true- I've been in groups for other operations, flashpoints, and Player-Versus-Player and I've seen people do this all the time. You'll get people complaining that someone's (supposedly) not tanking good enough, or the healer stinks, or the DPS (damage-per-second) people aren't doing enough damage. Sometimes someone ends up getting booted. Always a pity when someone has to be booted from the group, but sometimes it's the only option for the group activity to work.

I used to play a PvP game... I wouldn't recommend it. At least, no PvP games in which your success mostly depends on the rest of your team.

By the way, if Arcane has seduced you into playing League of Legends: DON'T.

I think I need to watch Arcane. I have friends saying that it's good. One in particular tried to talk me into it because they're a fan of the series and said that one of their favourite characters died and said they wanted someone to talk with them about it. It was basically an ask to traumabond with me lol.

TIL of the existence of the word traumabond.

Never played LoL, though I did briefly try Dota 2 many years ago when I ended up with a copy somehow. It was not my thing. LoL is similar to it so I never tried it =P

I haven't played a pvp game since C&C Renegade and TF2. Even if the gameplay of the game is good, the people that generally play pvp just make it so it's just not worth it =P

My brother is encouraging me to watch this show.

I haven't played League either nor do I know anything about it so I don't feel like it would appeal much to me.

Happy for video game show/movie adaptations that do well tho. We need more of that and less of this

I saw the tv show version of The Witcher at my sisters.... it was still enjoyable, but considerably worse than the games imo.
It's been too long since I read the books to remember how they compare to those.

I've never played League Of Legends, but I've come across fan-art of the character Braum and read his wiki page- he sounds like a major character! (...And the Poros look so cute!!!) From what I read on Wikipedia, the game has some serious toxic players, so I'm probably never going to play it, especially since I like Star Wars: The Old Republic a lot more- especially because I get to create my own characters.

Speaking of which, I think the Life Day event in said game is going to start Tuesday, so I'm looking forward to further decorating my Tatooine stronghold with Life Day decorations. The throwing snowballs at other players and characters is going to be major, too.

Not playing games at the moment. But I am watching a Let's Play of the first "Thief" game. I think I even had a CD of that game. But I'Ve never managed to get it to work back then.

I've only read two of the books. Need to get back to them at some point.

I'm not much of a reader anymore. I just can't seem to get into books the same way I used to. Might be from me putting all my stats in storytelling, makes story reading hard for me lol.

Looks like the Life Day event in Star Wars: The Old Republic isn't going to start 'til around the 10th. I've waited this long- I can wait a wee bit more. Gives me more time for reading too. *Disappears back into a book*

When I have to choose between spending free time playing a game or reading a book, the video game practically always wins =P
Same for me!

I only played LoL a short time about 15 years ago. I didn't particularly enjoy it.
It took you a short time... It took me 3 years XD
Fun fact: now that I've stopped playing LoL, I have so much more time to spend on my fangame :3

Yeah toxicity is a problem, but honestly, it's hard to not blame the game itself, not just the player base. But this is some game design stuff.
