I'm close to 4800 IP and i have no idea who i should get. Ahri? Fizz? Yorick for giggles? Wukong? Save for Aatrox or Vel'koz? Idk

From the looks of it though, you were doing pretty great overall so you should feel proud of yourself for that. You'll always get ragers/feeders and there's not much you can do about it. They were probably already angry for losing their lane/playing badly and needed someone to lash out at. People hate admitting that they've done bad after all and try to put the blame on others. Though honestly, that was uncalled for. I'm glad your support didn't do anything to you but I guess the rest of your team wasn't so bright. ;v;

Ori and Ahri are great picks. Ori is almost every midlaners default champion if his/her are banned/picked. She fits pretty much in any comp and is always viable. With Ahri it's really easy to stomp if you can do well with skillshots. Exhaust/Ignite pretty much counter Volibear and in many metas(like a meta where there are many champions that can kite) he is screwed. Maokai is great at the moment. Good pick-up, but I think there will be nerf in the near future for him.

Out of the champions you mentioned, I'd say Orianna, since it sounds like you're looking for utility. You could also always go for another support/mage like syndra, zyra, karma (granted those champs aren't 4800). Or, if you want pure utility something like leona works.

Also guys if you don't know, the updated summoner's rift is coming to live soon! It'll only be available in team builder and intro bots at first to avoid straining the server or something but it's finally almost here!

I would definitely recommend Volibear, he's an incredibly fun champion to play that works really well in top/jungle/support (a tad better in the jungle I'd say but more fun as top) and he's really interesting as a potential carrying choice - essentially what I've found is that if you build him for mostly HP then he's an amazing team fighter with his strong mixture of CC, constant ult damage and his occasional W bursts (each bite starts doing a lot of damage if you build for HP), but if you build him as an off-tank AD bruiser (and/or AS) then he becomes a champion that can easily win a game on his own with his damage/pushing speeds. He strikes me as a great champion for you to pick up given what you're looking for since you can very easily change your mind mid-game from "I'll help my team lots yay!" to "Ok no this team isn't reliable I'll just carry it myself" and all your items at that point will be helpful for either purpose (given that hp = damage for Voli). One last thing about Voli is that he's incredibly easy to salvage a lane with/get a lane fed with if you use him as a jungler - your Q/E CC mix combined with his huge W damage turns any gank into a secured kill, providing summoners are down, and a lot of the time people will simply flash away as soon as they see you charging towards them. Even if their lane is ahead your passive will usually be enough to keep you alive if you play smart, and even if you don't kill them it lets you turn around and gank them again as soon as your Q's back up. I doubt he's that good at higher ELOs when people learn how to play against him, but at the level we play I've found him to be an incredibly strong (and very fun to play!) threat.

Ahah, I think they're desperate for people to finally play team builder again after the icon hype... From what I've seen the new map looks incredibly pretty and the new jungle monsters are looking a lot cooler (though I'm not sure I can bring myself to kill Gromp...), but I can't say I'm a huge fan of the map's art style. It looks kind of like... a water colour painting, I guess? The design itself is pretty but I don't think the style of shading/etc really looks a lot better than the current map's. I'm sure it'll be easy to get used to though!

@ SR update: I honestly thought of that as well, it's so... medieval. ;__; It's kinda cool but I liked the old but new at the same time sort of feeling from old SR. idk I feel like they're trying to turn LoL on its head with all the champ/visual updates. :( But, I digress. Anyway the icon hype train was always real. New gamemode? Eh, I might give it a go. New gamemode offered with an icon? HECK YEAH LETS GO /cue yoloswegging
 
Just picked up LB c: Had fun with her when I tested her, but she is really difficult/requires way too much thinking for me. I'll probably try her out some more though because she is insanely fun and I need to expand my champ pool some :s

Save it for the next champ imo. Rumor has it that she is an adc named Kalista that throws spears. Sounds really cool. It's unconfirmed but the leaker is very reliable. He was the same guy who leaked URF and VelKoz!
 
Welp, just tried playing two PvP games to get some practice. I snowballed my lane pretty hard (especially in my Renekton vs Darius matchup which I've fully gotten used to) and was 4/0 by the nine minute mark. However, their enemy Shaco was making a bigger impact and was 7/0 along with a fed Akali. So yeah, I guess you can say that the game didn't turn out too well. ;__; I ended 15/5/16 with me having the majority of the kills and the only thing stopping my team from ff'ing. But yeah, it wouldn't be fair to blame only my team. I'm sure I played a pretty big part in our downfall as well since I didn't really roam or do anything until the snowball was almost a mountain. :(

I wasn't even upset we lost. I was just annoyed with the Vayne and TF on my team who insisted on being absolute jerkholes and ragers. If there's one thing I hate about LoL, it'd be how douchey the community can be at times. In a ranked, maybe I'd understand why they'd be upset. But a normal? You win some, you lose some. Calling people noobs, ridiculing their plays and making them feel stupid isn't gonna help. /alling about how x did so and so and is a [insert a few choicy swear words here] isn't exactly nice either. Maybe I'm just soft when people insult others since I find even a '...' unnecessary and insulting. (I can feel the raised eyebrows already on this one ;__;) though maybe that's just me knowing how tough it is to get a few well-worded insults every few seconds and wanting to defend them.

Eh I guess that was kind of a rant so I might be a bit hypocritical here. I'm just fed up with people getting so worked up over a single loss and saying the nastiest of **** to each other. Like 'treat others how you'd like to be treated' much? :( It's a game that's supposed to be enjoyed, not a flamewar on youtube. Even if our team is 0/16, I'll always try and be the 'sparkle sparkle we can do dis guys' even if that would mean lying to myself. No matter how bad a game goes, I always try to make it fun for at least myself and enjoy the 20 or so minutes I spend in it. :D

(also bear with me orianna fans but I got volibear due to alex's reasoning. ^^ puns very much intended)
 
i started ranked, won 2 games and lost 3 in a row after that. AFK or troll every single game. i guess i'm just gonna troll and ruin as many peoples lives because apparently this is fully acceptable behavior but typing "gg easy" is not.
 
@ Discord: There are acceptable behaviours in LoL but the two mentioned are definitely not. Trolling's apparently not acceptable? Really? I've played countless games with many trolls and even the ones who benefited from the troll's presence reported them after the game. Problem solved, one less troll to worry about. idk where you got the impression that people found it fully acceptable as nobody in the game appreciates them :( Also I don't think the 'if you can't beat them, join em' attitude is gonna do any good for you. Though I might be taking this too seriously. \_o_/

"gg ezy" is honestly spitting into your opponent's face after they've already lost. Most people would find it common courtesy to not say anything if they honestly didn't think of it as a gg. Saying ezy no matter how hard your stomp was is pretty disrespectful, honestly. I'm sure they gave it their all and at the end of the day would at least want a "gg" to appreciate their efforts. Though that's coming from the person who finds it annoying as **** to have people be jerks in-game. I still find it unacceptable though. It's not banworthy, it's just frowned upon. I don't do it myself and I appreciate it when others don't as well.

Sorry if I misunderstood any part of your post since I'm apparently pretty good at doing that. =P

But I'm having an off day, so I'm going to hold off on ranked for now and see if I'm having a good day tomorrow. I'm both nervous and excited for ranked matches!

I absolutely HATE "EZ". Those letters need to be deleted from LoL. It's not a reportable thing but is damn annoying.

Speaking of trolls, I think like... what some people consider trolling is acceptable. Like breaking the meta and trying ADC Ahri or something is fine imo (I've actually played it and it's tons of fun haha) but intentionally feeding, giving away location or like purposefully setting an anivia wall in front of allies trapping them into a fiddle ult.

Astronaut 1337 reporting in after being assigned a new mission. Operation: Planet Silver is now commencing. The planet itself has been predicted to explode within a week and as part of my training to be the very best like no one ever was, I'm supposed to reach it in the allowed time frame. But yeah, I'm gonna probably give it my all to get my S5 promos before the season ends. Even if I myself believe that it'll be almost impossible with school, my skills and a lot of other things in the way, it's still worth a shot. And if not, there's always next season. But I really wanna join the silver club and all my other friends as weird as that sounds from someone who's always had a 'idgaf' sort of attitude about LoL. I'll admit that I might get carried sometimes and it's just a game but y'know. Silver borders are cool. I like being cool. ;v;

It's not really trolling if you break the meta. Heck, I've been told by someone that 'if you pick annie supp, you're a troll and i'll report you!!!!', just because he hadn't seen it before. I ended up proving him wrong but he was still convinced that I was trolling and had been carried by the team. WELL ALRIGHT THEN. ;__; But the game focusing around what the pros are playing is getting really boring. We need more people to spice it up and play some unconventional stuff. :0

I've started playing some more unconventional picks, both in Normals and in Ranked, and I've not received much hate for it at all which is surprising! I've played some Sejuani mid, Malzahar top, Xerath support (though that's a tad more meta), Morgana jungle (only in Normals for that one), and a few other off-meta picks recently, and no one's minded at all haha. I'm sure this is just a fluke given that 99% of other ranked games end up in full-on warfare, but it's been nice seeing people show a bit more trust in their team mates. If only all games were like that, eh? XD

As for you trying to get to silver, I'm happy to duo with you if you want (currently playing Malz mid as my main pick and carrying quite hard) but at the end of the day you're picked a bad time for it - ranked right now is full of 'higher ELO' people rushing to get their ranks before the end of the season, meaning your ELO doesn't really count for a lot in half of the matches you'll get. The number of "I'm plat on my main, just getting my smurf up too before season ends" comments I've heard in the past week or two has been quite disheartening for getting Gold, but eh, guess we should've tried harder earlier XD
 
So I've been playing the hell out of Vladimir recently. I have no idea what inspired me to pick him up but... I love him, he has taught me a lot of patience in lane and how to abuse my range, and because of his really low base as I can farm a lot better on other champions, he's tanky, can sustain himself well, scales hard into the late game.

I think I've finally found a champion to call my own. Most games I play as Vlad now I have a hard time picking between soul stealer and blood Lord skins (first world problems ;-; )
 
Gotta say kalista seems awesomeee. Her kiting potential seems a little too strong. But I think her long aa animation helps make that a little more fair. She definitely seems like a champ who dominates bot lane but maybe falls off in team fights? Or maybe she can dance around them, I'm not really sure!
