  • As we approach the nine year anniversary of one of America's greatest tragedies, all of us should look back with great respect, to honor those who lost and gave their lives on September 11, 2001.

Hopefully you will be able to pay tribute to those heroes who died for what they believe in and pledge to "Never Forget."

  • A day to forget all of the issues surrounding it and just remember the souls this world lost.

I still remember watching the news in disbelief, i was only 8.

I think I must have not even been 1 when this happened, so I didn't give a damn.
Until I was about 8, when I finally understood.
I pray now for those who lost lives and members of their families, but also, I pray that just because of osama bin laden, not all muslims should be treated as evil.

    Amen.

P.S: Don't start a flame war because of what I just said!

  • I believe Muslims also died in the attack. My heart goes out to all the families involved in the 9/11 Disaster. I can't believe I was celebrating my birthday just the day before that. Two days depending on timezone.

I pray now for those who lost lives and members of their families, but also, I pray that just because of osama bin laden, not all muslims should be treated as evil.
    Wise words.

I watched the news that day. Shocking.

  • I remember I was playing pokémon card game with a friend on the street. I went into my house to eat something and my mother told me "look, Pedro" pointing with her finger to the TV screen. I ate something while I watched it, and then went back to the street and kept playing pokémon cards.

  • Actually, my dad wan in NY when that happened. I was just turning 3, but since dad was away, my uncle wasn't invited to the party. The he went on a rage and I've never seen him since 2001.

I hope that every victim reached a good place. Let's all remember the tons of innocent people that died. (:

  • I'm sorry to be a nuisance, but why was there no memorial thread for the 7/7 bombings? Surely as an English-speaking forum the single most horrific terrorist attack in British history should also be remembered?

Anyway, 9/11 was certainly a terrible day for the whole world. The saddest part about it is how it has driven a rift between fellow human beings and alienated us from one another. Rest in peace all those who died that day, and in the grusome wars that followed, regardless of their nationalities, ethnicities and religions.

Indeed it was a horrible incident that happened that day and I was hurt mostly since my two uncles were victims to this attack. This attack drove a rift and opened a new, large gap between different religion and accusations, hate started flying around.

My condolences to my uncles and to all who fell victims to this tragic day. May you all rest in peace.

9/11 was an international tragedy. Nearly four thousand lives lost; wars caused in retaliation; Muslims being afraid to walk around outside days following the attacks in case they were lynched. People still have the ignorance to claim 9/11 was an inside job or they still have the nerve to rant about how bad their lives are because they got so much homework or because they don't have the confidence to socialise with people. At least you'll get to do homework again. At least you'll be able to interact with people whenever you want.

    Some people aren't as lucky.

  • During 9/11 I was still in high school. I was getting ready to finish my test and head home. But we have to stay at the school until futhar notice.

  • When 9/11 happened, I was in the third grade. No one knew in the school what happened. All I know is that when I got home, my mom and brother were crying, and I was very angry because Pokémon wasn't on, instead the News was. And I was scared of watching the News when I was little because I didn't like knowing about storms coming..

  • It happened when I was in school. I was 8 and had just came home, wondering why the cartoons weren't on. It was the news, and by this time both towers had been hit. I still remember the moment when the last tower collapsed.

Safe to say, the whole world was affected.

I wasn't actually near the incident in any way, I was in another country for vacation. When I heard about it on the news, I thought at first it's an everyday "blow a bus" bomb incident, but it was really two towers completely destroyed. I was around 8 years old when it happened, so I didn't feel the sadness and grief most of my family were feeling.

Looking back at it now, it's truly one of the most tragic happenings/incidents and may all victims of this shameless attack rest in peace.

  • I was only in 4th grade when this happened. I didn't understand at the time what all the pandemonium was about, why everyone was checking out of school, and I didn't know what the Twin Towers were prior to that day.

But yes, take the time to reflect on this day. Proud to say the Marching Southerners will be doing a special half time performance to honor the lives lost in this tragedy.

  • I remember this day. The news was on, and my mom was crying. I was just a stupid little kid back then, so I didn't think it was that serious. My mom made me and my sister leave the living room, so I never got to watch the whole thing. It took me a while to realize what had happened. All those lives that were lost... And it pisses me off knowing that these terrorists gave other Muslims (like me) a bad name. People still make jokes on me at times about being a terrorist. It's not even funny. T_T

But ANYWAYS, R.I.P to all those people who died. I don't think I can ever forget what happened on 9/11...
