So it'd be a lot easier for him to just toss attacks from back there rather than getting up close and personal. But on paper it looks like that's going to hinder him far more than help him. Of course it makes sense, but like... What's he gonna do with that attack move pool now?

His only useful special move at this point is Shadow Ball, which is of course a great move for Ghost types, but the rest of his pool is full of helpful physical attacks. And it's not like his Attack stat was so good before that he can just keep using those moves, this boost in Special Attack may really hinder Mega Sableye's offensive capability. However, in retrospect, it obviously wasn't Game Freak's purpose to improve that side of Sableye's strategy, haha.

Well I can say with great confidence that he will more than likely become a huge pain under Trick Room influence. (my favvy <3) Being defensive is good but I really wish he'd received a special defense boost too. It kinda makes sense to me since that huge gem seems good for blocking special attacks as well.

Maybe it's all tough in the face of a punch and a kick but if you throw a Magical Leaf at it it'll shatter into pieces. :D;

Perhaps it'll get a tiny boost in special defense (and Attack) since the megas we saw in XY got boosts in areas they didn't mention. Like Mega Blaziken got a boost in special attack too despite them only mentioning it's speed and attack stats.

I feel like it would make sense for both of Sableye's defensive stats to get a boost, because that gem is obviously a significantly powerful shield, or at least that's what it sounds like from the descriptions available to us. Maybe it gets a new move or two to compensate for its Attack stat buff?

I wonder if they'll even give new moves to anyone who isn't the mascots. Thus far I only recall that the Kanto mascots (all three original game mascots) got new moves in FrLg (the elemental hyper Beams), Kyurem's formes got new moves in B2W2 (well they were coded in BW but were properly introduced in B2W2), and now the Hoenn mascots are hinted of having new moves...
I don't think they've given new moves to Pokemon that weren't mascots or essential to the plot of the games...

re: only good move is Shadow Ball, it also gets Dark Pulse so that adds to the STAB. Hidden Power is a good third slot, followed by something that takes advantage of Prankster, or just don't even include HP for Taunt/WoW or Toxic, and so on.

Right, if you account for TMs and non-naturally learned moves, his pool is probably pretty extensive, like most Pokemon. Even with the Special moves to utilize the SpA boost, I definitely see Mega Sableye getting used as a wall much more often in competitive battling, and probably regular Sableye as the attacker counterpart. Why not take advantage of the buffed defense?

I was listening to the RS Super Music Collection and the XY one. Do you think Gamefreak might reuse music from XY?

In Gen 3, FRLG reused the gym theme (not leader). The XY gym theme actually sounds rather similar to the original RS one.

Also, do you think character customization will make a return? From the looks of it, it seems quite unlikely.

I'm pretty sure that the gym music has been pretty much the same across the generations. Or at least for the last 3 or so.

I would very much like character customization to return in ORAS; it was something I wanted in Pokemon for years, and was really glad that they finally put it in in X and Y.

But so far, there's nothing really to indicate if we're getting character customization or not. Maybe we will, maybe we won't.

The gym theme may sound similar across all generations, but from Gen IV onwards it had some unique portions. The biggest difference was of course in the various gym themes of BW2, followed by Sinnoh gyms which had a different end compared to the originals. The original BW gym theme had a slight unique extension at the beginning. Only XY sounded very much similar to the originals, including Hoenn ones.

At first, I thought Gamefreak would follow the Emerald route and make contests only in Lilycove. I speculated that the other contest halls would be converted into boutiques instead of battle tents. Upon closer inspection of the new Hoenn map, it seems apparent that all RS contest halls are set to return.

So far, there has been no indication of customization. Not in any trailer, and there is no sign of any mirror in the protagonist's rooms. While I'm fine with Brendan and May staying as what they are, it's kind of a bummer to leave this feature out.

Does anyone think that the other Dark/Ghost Pokémon aka Spiritomb will get a Mega? Or maybe not as it'll overshadow Mega Sableye...

I'm starting to get really concerned about what they'll add from Emerald. Those coulds over the Battle Tower/Frontier are the only things that give me hope that GF is hiding the redesigned frontier...

Let's wait for more updates, hm?

It's just that thus far everything seems to be in it's Ruby/Sapphire positions... the contest halls look like they're seperated again, the exclusive evil teams, the clothing of the MCs are dominantly red (I added this one as a less serious note xD), Steven is possibly the champion... one has to wonder if the simple Tower will be returning too...

I feel we may see a darth of massive info in the few five months...it just seems that they gave away a lot of new Megas this month, and they already told us why Groudon and Kyogre look different in the box art from normal (Primal Reversion).

Fake but I was so convinced by this image at first. I really hope this turns out to be true.

Spoiler:

Oh yes! Let us hope! It would make since considering their types, the cover legendaries with the same typing that is and the evil teams. I could see it happening easily.

Spoiler:

Oh maaaan those look so good. If only those could be real...

Shoot maybe the real ones will look even better. <3 I definitely think it's a given these guys will get mega forms with the significance they have to Maxie and Archie. I can't wait to see what other megas they'll come up with, though!

I hope the designs of Camerupt and Sharpedo will look close to what's up there though.

Love love love the fake Mega Camerupt, and I'd be really pleased with that Sharpedo design if its torso was just a bit longer, with a few more slight alterations to differentiate it from its original form. However, seeing that is getting me really excited for new leaks, ugh. The CoroCoro needs to come faster d:

Leaks? Well it usually leaks even when it has no new info or has nothing new about Pokémon.

Now if there'll be new info, well I think they may have a little. Maybe as much as we got in May. Maybe something small like (in size) Diancie's ability.
