    The VIP Challenge

    Do you want to be a VIP? Do you have the guts to go head-to-head with PC's most dedicated userbase? Do you look good in a swimsuit?

    If the answer to any of these questions was 'yes' then you're in the right place - it's time for The VIP Challenge! Every few weeks we'll be throwing another challenge at you for you all to compete in and we'll start to find out who really are the VIPs of PC. The challenges will cover topics new and old, test skills you never knew you had, and will hopefully provide a bit of bonding too, so play some games with your fellow members and the prizes may be in your grasp.

    PC is running low on funding and needs an exciting new way to draw in potential detonators. You're in charge of PC for the day and you're allowed to create one new section for people to post in, but it has to be a good one or you'll be laughed out of the staff team for good. Your job is to think of a new section for PC to use, decide who will have access to it, and give a short description of the threads you'd expect to find there.

    You'll need to include a name for your section, the section's focus and a brief description of how the section will function in order to be taken seriously - but keep in mind you'll also have to explain your choices. The PC crowd are a tough one to please and making the wrong decision here could bust the forum, so to have your idea put into action you'll have to be very persuasive and demonstrate why PC needs your new section and why the members will love it.

    Section Title: Nourishment Nation
    Section Focus: Focusing on food, drinks and recipes for different kinds of edible contraptions.
    Description & Reasoning: In this new section you will be able to share recipes and show what you are eating. There will be a daily chit chat thread talking generally about recipes, drink and food. There will also be a thread discussion what kind of food/drink you like the most and another one for the food/drink you like the least. You can discuss foreign food (up for some Frog Legs?) and bizzare food combination for example too.

    I would make this so that it would be a nice way to decide what you could have to eat. This section would be great fun to post any ideas for cooking meals and spreading delicacies. It would be a great place to try new kinds of food out!

    Section Focus: Section focuses on the topics of love, pairing, shipping, or concepts of love, etc.
    Description & Reasoning: This section is all about L-O-V-E, Love! Whether it be shipping, pairing, spamming cute kitten or squirrel gifs, as long as it is about love, it is safe in the Shipping Queendom, as long as you still keep it PG! ;3

    I would make this section happen, not because I'm the Queen of Shipping but because I feel love is something we enjoy taking about. Even if we are too modest and shy, I know some of you guys love a ship, or spam cute kitten gifs to show admiration or something, and this is a great way for us to bond!

    Section Focus: It's a section where you focus on anything cute and adorable!
    Description & Reasoning: Well, I love cute things so having a section for that would definitely leave a big smile on your face would definitely get PC's activity thriving again.

    The whole point is whether you share cute animals, cute Pokemon, cute anime girls, you name it. And I'd open it to everyone who wants to make their friends smile when they're feeling down. I always like making my fellow PC'ers feel happy when they're not in the best mood, because we all need to keep calm and smile.

    Section Focus - Section focuses on Competition and Contests.

    Description & Reasoning - So this section is dedicated solely to Competitions and Contests in which you can win anything from Pokémon Eggs to Emblems! A good way for new users to earn emblems and get involved in the community and interact with other users.

    There can be existing contests such as Prettiest Profile Contest and then there can be completely new competitions such as Video Competitions in which you have to create a Video telling people why they should join The Pokécommunity Forums! This is a fun section for those who love to compete with one another and it's a great opportunity for those top notch artists to show off their magnificent work to the whole Community and be rewarded for it! ;;

    Section Title: Fitness and Nutrition

    Section Focus: This section would focus on the importance and techniques of maintaining a healthy lifestyle from fitness techniques and tips to healthy meal plans.

    Description and Reasoning: We have many people here interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and outside of the fitness club there really isn't a place to discuss things of this nature.

    This section would have a DCC where you could discuss things that you have done throughout the day such as how much exercise you accomplished in the day, etc. There would be threads on workout plans and how well they have worked, there would be threads where people could share fitness tips with each other and discuss which are the best. Additionally there would be a section completely dedicated to maintaining a healthy diet. You can share and discuss recipes of healthy dishes and things of that nature. Basically an entire section dedicated on healthy living for those who are interested!

    Description & Reasoning: so many people on here have tumblrs now. it would be nice for people to share their tumblrs. members could post threads to ask people to team up to do promos and gain followers. members could share html and css tips to make their blogs look better!

    Section Focus: Members with musical abilities can collaborate with other musical members to make music videos such as covers.

    Description & Reasoning: It is said that music brings everyone together! People who can sing, beatbox, play musical instruments or possess any form of musical ability can come together and combine their unique musical abilities to make awesome covers or whatever they fancy. This is a great way to get creative juices flowing as well as create opportunities to bond together with members with similar interests. What other better ways to bond than through music? ♪ Even more so, people who feel like they work well with each other could even start their own group similar to Pentatonix (If you haven't heard of them, go check them out! Their music is heavenly.) and work their way up from there.

    Section Title: The Stadium

    Section Focus: This section will mainly touch on any sports all around the world. From baseball, to motorsports, to rugby and football. Also talk about the sports you currently play/follow.

    Description & Reasoning: Since most of the sports threads are scattered between General Entertainment and Fan Clubs & Groups, I do feel a sports section (or subsection at least!) is needed and it could make things a little more organized. This section could bring many sports fans together, depending on what sport they're following. They can also be updated with the latest scores from popular sports/teams, as well as be informed with upcoming events. I don't want this section to *mainly* focus on following sports, but rather have others who are athletes/players that play the sport and discuss their experiences as well.

    This section could contain a DCC, a sticky thread that could contain the latest scores to many of the popular sports, and threads can either be a discussion about a certain sport members are following, or any interesting news regarding something or someone in the sports world.
     
    The response to this contest has been surprisingly high, so we'll set a deadline of September 6th - two weeks from now. Loving the entries so far; keep them coming!

    Section Focus: Helping members solve unresolved issues and convert people away from ROM hacking.

    Description & Reasoning: This forum would have members discussing their life issues - whether it is things like how to ensnare their next romantic victim to picking a career pathway to follow. Users might want to seek support from a tragic event, or help someone get over their trauma.

    On the side, of course, is a secret operation to capture and convert ROM hackers - thus repopulating the rest of the forum. We can bribe them in with free cyber cookies.

    Section Focus: Youtuber's can hang out and discuss.
    Description & Reasoning: This forum is for members to look at other members Youtube videos. If you want to give feedback, you can. Of course, there will have to be some requirements, like how active you are and if you upload regularly. It would be preferred to have the videos Pokemon related. I think this is a good idea because it gives the members to interact with others and... the thing above apply as well.
    Who can use it? Everyone can use it. There could be a few Donator features though! Maybe have 2 channels in the same thread?

    Description & Reasoning: Love going to school? I'm sure that lots of members here do, and this is the place to hang out with others who do! Over here you can discuss your studies or just school life in general. Feel free to also vent about events or things your professors/teachers do as well and get opinions and or recommendations on what you may want to study.

Ever wished you could step foot in a rainforest, climb the highest mountain in Europe, enjoy the wonders of Japan, set foot in a Buddhist temple in Tibet or roll down the Niagara Falls in a barrel? If the answer to at least one of this questions is yes, then this section was made for you! Come share your travel stories, plan vacations, talk about great places and more!

    Section Title: MINI MOD MADNESS
    Section Focus: Regular PC posters get to live out their dreams of mod life while moderators troll the living daylights out of an entire forum (for a brief-ish period)
    Description & Reasoning: Well basically it's a forum where every regular poster has mod / smod / admin / owner (depending on how reckless whoever runs it feels at the time) powers and are charged with the task of keeping the forum running like a regular forum while moderators act like the "regular members" except they're not regular members, they're the MEMBERS FROM HELL™. It would be a temporary forum, lasting between two weeks to a month, and there would be an emblem given out at the end for best mini mod and most spectacularly awful poster (for the actual real life mods). This forum would for one thing give the forum's moderators an opportunity to let their hair down as such, as well as give the forum's members who desperately seek the glamour of MOD LIFE a glimpse of what moderating is really like. It also has potential for letting staff see who has what it takes to be a mod by looking at whoever sticks around to keep the forum sane for the entire period of the contest, but more or less making it a mod audition forum strikes me as a bit IFFY so maybe not. Would get lots of posts 4real 4real though.

    Section Focus: It focuses on members submitting topics that make them happy, or smile in some way.
    Description & Reasoning: With people, you never know what situation anybody is in, they may be depressed, or borderline suicidal. This section promotes nice attitudes, trying to make member feel better and I'd also plan for members to give feedback with a particular thread showing how this made them smile in some way.

    Section Focus: It focuses on what anime or manga members like, etc what kind of manga or anime do you watch/read.
    Description & Reasoning: Well a lot of people like anime here. Pokémon has it's own one, however many other people on PC also like other anime and manga. Similar to a chit-chat, members can talk which anime and characters they like, stuff about the anime/manga and that stuff.

    Section Focus: Focuses on Graphic Design and those interested to learn

    Description & Reasoning: The reason behind this section would to put users interested in becoming a GFX Artist or further there skills. Now you all wanted to make a bit more money or get some donations correct? Well heres the deal. We can make A&D School for free but to a certain extent. Say the users are enjoying the classes and want to learn more. Well then in order to start learning more of the advanced things they would have to make a small donation of $5! Now of course for this to work we would have to have really good GFX Designers/Artists to become teachers and help out. To make it more interesting the classes would be based around Pokemon. Using Pokemon to teach them everything they need to know about GFX.

    Though there is more to it but thats just a little summary! It can have its own section to since it'd be a school/classes.
     
    Dayum, really wanted to post the sports forum idea. But, as the main reason I'm posting is for an emblem (#collector)

    Section Focus: Emblems!
    Description & Reasoning: Many people (including myself) have multiple emblems. Some were collected on purpose (i.e. the one I got for the relaunch of #thepokecommunity, which I think is some sort of chatroom-like thing?), others bestowed by the mods unexpectedly. But unless you view profiles regularly you don't really see how many emblems people have, or what they're for, and also get the impression nobody really cares about your own. This section would give people a place to brag about their emblems (I'm thinking a sticky where you can list your emblems, then give updates on new ones), and suggest new ones that could be given out - I'm assuming that they weren't all thought of back in 2002/3 (or earlier, could be wrong) when the site was started?



    But I think "MINI MOD MADNESS" should win.
