In terms of designs I'd say ORAS introduced some great Megas. We had Mega Camerupt, Mega Altaria, Mega Steelix who are amongst my favourites of them all.
Correct with the Shadow Type move being super effective on non-Shadow Pokemon in XD. Wasn't the case in Colosseum however - it was neutral against everything instead and there was only one Shadow-type move to speak of.Well we know that in the GameCube games, the Shadow Pokémon had pretty strong moves that (if i'm not mistaken) were always super-effective except against opposing Shadow-types. That was what I recalled... I only played XD Gale of Darkness once so it's been a long time.
And I think that since Mega Evolution was introduced, it's not likely that it'll be removed in the future, but it's not something I could see 100% out of the question in being no more, actually.
Shadow Pokemon is definitely a cool concept and I'd love to see it back in a Wii U adventure game. XD did manage that well and yeah, Shadow vs Shadow is also NVE.
I concur that Megas aren't going to be removed since taking them out would be a downgrade. And plus, I want M. Scrafty but Hydreigon, Arcanine and Mightyena would be nice too.
If Hydreigon got a Mega Evolution, it's one I could imagine having a type change. I've stated before that Dragon/Steel would make it quite a bit more interesting, as that would be a lot more worthwhile against those nasty Fairy-types. Even though the Steel-type has lost its resistances to Dark and Ghost, it might make something like that more fun and unique.
^^It would be nice if Hydreigon got a Mega that made it not 4x weak to Fairies. The fact that Fairy-types destroy Dragon-types that much makes me really not like them at all...
