FireRed hack: Pokémon Vega (and Altair/Sirius) - English Version

I'm getting that same problem. It also freezes for me when I pick my first pokemon. Did you figure out how to get past that

Not sure if you're still interested in the answer but you could either modify the movement permissions in A-Map to be able to walk through a wall, or just use Fire Red's walk through walls cheat to get past it. It's what I did, as it's a crazy difficult timing process. Even with savestates.

honestly it's just perseverance and save states. in not the wtw code for fire red should work to bypass the boulder nonsense

Did you try patching it with the other FR version as well? That's why I always have multiple base rom versions on me. Works 70% of the time.
 
A little something I found just now

For some reason in Sirius only, Asphere in Sirius form doesn't have its second frame in its animation.

I took a look at the ROM in PGE and the offset pointer for the animation frame and the static sprite used elsewhere in boxes/etc (front sprite) somehow ended up swapped. Just swap the pointers back (or just repoint the animation sprites) and it fixes this.

Change Front Sprite pointer to F02590
Change Animation pointer to F44920

I love the little steel goat! Folifarig should be a real evolution! When I saw it for the first time in a gym battle, it caught me off guard. It's extremely well designed. But my award goes to Rollder, had great defense curl rollout memories with the little fella. I was not a fan of his evolution though because Rollder was just so perfect haha and the loss of the bug type. And I'm also sure Machu must be a troll Pokemon based off the muscular Pikachu pics on the internet lol.

I also love the relaxing space time theme set in Ravenplume City. It really sets a warm welcoming humble vibe of life.
 
Is there a cheat code that unlocks the national dex for Vega? A lot of cool fakemons and their evolutions are locked behind the postgame

Okay, yeah, I might not be able to help you then. I remember how to do it for VBA, though. Enter this code to enable the National Dex.

That's not enough though. After that, catch a wild Pokemon that is in the National Dex. Use a Wild Pokemon Code modifier. This one is an easy catch which will activate the National Dex:

Agreed, although now I've run into a slight problem.
It seems that unlocking the national dex has screwed with a few events in the story, such as Mos meeting you after beating the 1st gym and your friend/rival encountering two Team DH grunts in the cave. If I try speaking to Mos, the game freezes, but thankfully speaking to my rival causes the event to play out without a problem.
After the cave though I came across a DH grunt, and talking to him froze my game.

Well, the trick here is activating the cheat, evolve the mon and then immediately turn off the cheat, making sure the nat dex isn't triggered when checking the dex. This way you can avoid all the glitches.

What the heck? I had no idea something like that could happen. I went through the entire game and the only (technically gamebreaking) glitch I encountered was at the Pokemon League. A girl who was normally standing away from the entrance to the chambers of the Elite 4 and Champion (the one talking about healing items) was instead blocking the entrance. WTW allowed me to get past her. I activated the National Dex just before my 3rd Gym Badge battle.

Side Note: This game really is a load of f**king bullshit. You can't buy Revives until after you become Champion? There are only 3~ Revives you can find? F that. I cheated them in. How are you supposed to heal fainted Pokemon during the League challenge?

Try Vega Minus in the Sideshow Case. It solves this and some other annoying difficulty problems.
