Small Writing Competition

Well It look like there i plenty of time, maybe I made a mistake by coming up with a story right away LOL, can I edit? well what done is done now I think... hahahhahaha

Right!
Just to confirm, do the stories have to be about pokémon?

Hi, I would like to give it a try. Is there a limit on the amount of words or pages? i'm wondering if there is an specific letter size and Font as a standard to be used, and, do we have to write directly our story in a message or attach it? Sorry, I'm new into this. Thanks.

No length limits upper or lower, pages or words or otherwise. It just has to be a self-contained, one-chapter story. One year Cutlerine (who is a crazy man, how I miss him) submitted an entry that was almost 18,000 words long (like I said, crazy man). On the other hand one year I submitted one that was only 1,600 words and it did okay too. It all depends on how much you have to say.

As for submitting your entry, what I and other FF&W (ir)regulars do is write our story in a word processor, then copy that into the message body. That's how we post stories/chapters in the main FF&W forum. If you're worried about weird things happening with formatting upon copypasting and would prefer to attach it, that'd be up to the judges, but as a rule we prefer to have stories published directly in posts/messages because that way we know everyone sees the same thing.

Good luck!

Thank you very much, really appreciated :)

Good luck to you too ;).

Me personally if you want to go ahead and submit an edit version, that's fine with me. Not sure if bobandbill and Gimmepie agrees, though, up to them.

Yeah, as mentioned there's no limit so try your best in getting your story told. I also would prefer if you just write your story in like Word or Google Docs and then copy/paste the story into the message body when you send it to us.

Thank you very much, but now I noticed there is only three entries It wouldn't be wise to do so, I'll stick with the current one.
Btw do you accept bribes, I have a good deal with you judges?? =P lmao

I will be joining the fun as well. Been looking forward to this competition, honestly, and after the crap I went through this week, I think the creative juices are ready to be unleashed! Best of luck, everyone.

I might join since I have a halfway decent idea this year.

Hey, guys! In spite of being crazy busy, I'm very happy to report that I was able to get my entry turned in :D

Good luck, everyone!

Bay already answered but you're free to sent an edited version before the deadline. Just let us know that it's a re-submission.
Oh I sent an entry, I forgot to post here.

Both are received and OP updated!

How's the deadline working for everyone else? Bit over two days left now.

I'm comfortable. Close to the end of the story now, and I think I should be able to spend most of Saturday editing and revising.

I'm just over half-way done with the first draft, and have two potential beta readers waiting. These last two months have been killers job-wise, so both time and inspiration have been constrained.

I am not too concerned however, I'm used to RL schedules conflicting with internet ones . If I can't make it by Saturday with proofreaders and there's no news of a deadline extension, the story won't be tossed to the bin, it'll just move to the "without hurries" queue, meaning it'll likely be moved to contine working on it during mid-2017. With any luck, then I can adapt it to the next SWC :p
