Tastiest Mushroom Pokemon???

Foongus & Amoonguss

Foongus is a white mushroom-like Pokémon with a cap that looks quite similar to a Poké Ball. It has stubby, digit-less arms, a large pink mouth, and pinprick-like dark eyes. It uses the Poké Ball-like pattern on its head to lure people and Pokémon in grassy areas, then releases a cloud of poisonous spores to defend itself. It moves by either hopping or turning on its side and rolling on its cap. Amoonguss is a mushroom-like Pokémon with a large, light-colored Poké Ball designed cap with warts. It also has a huge, gray, stem-like body; fierce-looking eyes; and a large, pink mouth. Amoonguss wields two Poké Ball-like shields. It uses the Poké Ball-like patterns on its arms to lure in prey, though it doesn't work too well in most cases.​

Paras & Parasect

Red-and-yellow mushrooms known as tochukaso grow on this Pokémon's back. The mushrooms can be removed at any time and grow from spores that are doused on this Pokémon's back at birth by the mushroom on its mother's back. Tochukaso are parasitic in nature, drawing their nutrients from the host Paras's body in order to grow and exerting some command over the Pokémon's actions. The insect has been drained of nutrients and is now under the control of the fully-grown tochukaso. Removing the mushroom will cause Parasect to stop moving. It can thrive in dank forests with a suitable amount of humidity for growing fungi. Swarms of this Pokémon have been known to infest trees. The swarm will drain the tree of nutrients until it dies and will then move on to a new tree. It has been known to fight with Shiinotic over territory.​

Shroomish & Breloom

Shroomish live in damp soil in the dark depths of forests. They are often found keeping still under fallen leaves. This Pokémon feeds on compost that is made up of fallen, rotted leaves. If Shroomish senses danger, it shakes its body and scatters spores from the top of its head. This Pokémon's spores are so toxic, they make trees and weeds wilt. Breloom is a bipedal, mushroom-like Pokémon with some kangaroo-like qualities. Breloom can stretch its short arms to deliver fast punches. Additionally, it has light, springy footwork that allows it to get close to opponents. Another way it closes in on opponents is by incapacitating them with spores released from the holes in its cap.​

Morelull & Shiinotic

Morelull likes dark damp areas, but changes locations every night avoid depriving the plants in any one area of too many nutrients. In addition to locomotion, its roots are also used to communicate with other Morelull. When in danger, it scatters spores that burst into bright, glittering sparks. The pulsing light of the spores can induce drowsiness. This Pokémon competes with Parasect over territory; their fights often leave the area coated in spores. Shiinotic has been shown illuminating the spot and gills on its mushroom. This strange light can confuse people who enter its habitat, causing them to lose their way. Additionally, the flickering spore it releases can also cause drowsiness.​

If just for the fact that Shroomish was my first wild encounter shiny that I managed to catch, it and Breloom get my vote. Paras/Parasect are a close second though, because they both learn Spore at such an early level, and that really helps with catching wild Pokemon earlier on in your journey.

Paras and Parasect for sure! I'll never forget that episode where Pikachu tries to go easy on a timid Paras in battle but still manages to knock it out! Has to be one of the most iconic episodes ever!

Besides, Paras and Parasect have alluring designs. I also find that the mushroom itself being a parasite is quite interesting and makes these pokemon stand out among the other mushroom-inspired pokemon!

no really Breloom is like one of my favourite Grass-type Pokemon and I've loved its design since forever! idk what else to say about it but I really do think it's cool af.

I'm between Breloom and Shiinotic. I had a Breloom on my old competitive team, and that thing was a beastly little mushroom that I grew to adore. On the other hand.. Fairy type... hnnggg

Paras for me. Although it has x4 weakness to Fire and Flying(not to mention a weakness to Rock, Poison, Ice and Bug), it's Hidden Ability and moves make it a decent Grass or Bug type Pokemon. Buff its Speed so that it's not a sloth and it can do some damage.

Shiinotic reminds me of Starichok-Borovichok from Soviet fairy tale Morozko (Jack Frost). Looking forward to actually using one. But it has my vote.

Gotta go with Breloom for me! Arguably one of my favorite Pokemon when I break it down to typing because there aren't that many fighting types that I really like when I'm thinking favorites but Breloom is up there.

Prior to my most recent run of FireRed I had never used any of these mushroom mons, but in my recent fire type monolocke I picked up a Paras as an HM slave and I've really become endeared to the little guy. He does so good at lighting up caves and cutting down trees. That's my mushroom crab.

I'm surprised Breloom isn't the most popular! I thought it was such a unique take on the mushroom Pokémon and had that rarity that made it really fun to use in Gen 3. Oh well, Breloom gets my vote.
