This is pretty unfounded speculation, you're basically explaining a game mechanic we have no reason to believe exists.

However, considering that this isn't your average mafia and attacks do a set amount of damage instead of straight up killing, I wouldn't say it's exactly "unfounded". It's actually a pretty standard game mechanic.
