[PokeCommunity.com] The Pokemon Leauge's Elite Four

In Kalos, the Elite Four consists of Malva, Siebold, Wikstrom, and Drasna - and they can be battled in any order, like the fifth generation's Elite Four before it! The Champion is Diantha, one you may have recognized - as you have seen her in other parts of your Kalos journey. Malva specializes in the Fire-type, Siebold in Water-types, Wikstrom in Steel-types, and Drasna is a Dragon-type specialist.

Here's a few discussion questions, just to have some discussions:

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
~ Feel free to discuss anything about the Elite Four members of Kalos!

Personally, they weren't the best league for me, but the battlers were pretty magical. By magical, I mean, they were special in their own way, with the scenery and everything! But I really think they should up the challenge; then again, our pokemon could of potentially be.. overleveled by the time we've reached them, but hey.

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
The Elite themselves are impressive because of their personalities.
~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
Proabaly Siebold, as Water-type is my favorite Pokémon type.
~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
The chambers are interesting, but little cut-scenes aren't necessary for me as it disrupts me from grinding money. xD
~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
Drasna is cool and kind. But we have too much Dragon-type experts. There should be an Electric-type Elite. You have no idea how excited I was when I first learned through the leaks that there is a Water-type Elite and a Steel-type Elite!
~ Feel free to discuss anything about the Elite Four members of Kalos!
I love the fact that Diantha's first five Pokémon are Kalos native. :)

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
Malava being on a vile team flare and a news reporter interest me, Wikstrom talks like a medieval dude which is awesome
~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
Malava and Wikstorm though they have my favorite mons
~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
The chambers match their specialty perfectly
~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
Have 1 of their pokemon still same specialty, but resist/neutral damage to our team type
~ Feel free to discuss anything about the Elite Four members of Kalos!
You guys are just cake walk here. Where's the icing part

~ What did you think of this Elite Four? As much as I would love to say I liked these guys, they are honestly my least favorite Elite Four group. The characters all just seemed bland to me and they were just a little too easy to take down. Made me sad actually. :c
~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos? If I do have to pick one, it'll have to be Siebold. He is just overall fabulous.
~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located? Those were actually pretty cool actually. The game designers went all out on those.
~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could? I just wish they were more difficult man. With or without the exp share. They were overall just a bunch of pushovers. :/

What did you think of this Elite Four?
They were pretty well-designed and had some unique type specialties, but as said the challenge was pretty much nonexistent. Most of the time I ended up destroying them quickly and the EXP Share was often to blame for you being overleveled as well.

Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
I love Drasna and Siebold! The former is a nice change of pace for Dragon-type users since she's a smiling old lady, and she does use some nice Pokemon. Siebold has a very strong team, and did we mention that I love Water-types so much?

What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
I loved the awesome animations that happened when you entered each chamber. I recall being on the edge of my seat when I saw them for the first time.

Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
Make them get stronger in rematches. The fact they didn't buff at all in the rematch was just a pure sign Game Freak rushed with this game a lot and were a bit lazy as well.

~ What did you think of this Elite Four? They were fine. I dont usually remember any E4.
~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos? Dragon lady. She reminds me of me. Malva too a little, mostly in fashion. Love the shades.
~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located? Very cool. Best E4 rooms bar none.
~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could? Dont really care enough. Dont like the steel or water ones much

I'm a fan of the Elite Four we had in Kalos. In a lot of ways, they remind me of the ones that were in Johto and Kanto, and I feel it's nice to find some throwback like this every now and again! My personal favorite is Malva. She's got more of a stylish appearance, which helps setting her apart from the rest, and battling-wise, she could wind up to be a challenge, all depending on how our teams are built.

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
I like Drasna for being very friendly and mature about the battle (I'm looking at you Clair). Siebold also stood out the most because of his sudden question which took me by surprise and made me think carefully about it. But the other two weren't too memorable to me.

~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
My answer is in the above

~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
At first, I thought the chambers were cool, but after I beat them another 5 times in the postgame, I'm starting to find the animation to be very tedious since I couldn't skip them and they take a while to end.

~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
    Aside from the chambers, no.

~ Feel free to discuss anything about the Elite Four members of Kalos!
I didn't know Malva was a team flare member until I challenged her in the elite four. So when she was saying something about burning me with her hatred, I wanted to say "I think you got the wrong person"

-> What did you think of this Elite Four?
Really liked it! They are pretty unique! Imagine my face when I saw a water-type Elite 4 :O I really loved their types! Fire, Water, Steel and Dragon! Another thing that I found interesting is that they have different and strong personalities!
-> Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
My favourite member is Siebold! First because he is a water-type member of the Elite 4, and second because I see him as a noble pokémon trainer with wisdom! Look what he says : "There are no weak Pokémon in a Pokémon Battle. There are only weak trainers. Find the good in every one of your Pokémon. Draw out the unique strengths they possess. It is the duty of Trainers and Chefs to find the good in any raw materials they have to work with. There lies the answer to reaching ever higher." This thouched my heart! See, the most competitive battlers use the same pokémon over and over because they think that those pokémon are better then the other! Well this "quote" explains that there are no weak pokémon, you just have to find a good way to battle with them!
-> What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
SUPER AWESOME! I really loved the cutscenes! And the water chamber was the best ^^
-> Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
I would change the difficulty! It was a bit easy winning!
-> Feel free to discuss anything about the Elite Four members of Kalos!
Well I have something in my mind that, for me, makes sense ... For me, the members of the Elite 4 fit well in different "ages" of history! Look, Drasna looks like a woman from the Stone Age with those teeths on her outfit. Wikstrom looks like a soldier from the Middle Age, and Siebold looks like a nobility member. And Malva it's more modern, like in "Our Age"
This might me stupid, but for me, I found this interesting!

    That's it!

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
I honestly wasn't too surprised when I saw their typings. It's hard for me to really judge their overall strength since I was 20 levels over them by that point in the game (curse you experience share >.<). Their personalities were kind of bland too.

~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
Drasna, only because she reminded me of Audino and was a Dragon-type user.

~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
After seeing pretty much the same concept in BW, I was glad they kept it the same. All four were cool to watch the first time and really kept me feel like this was a major event in the journey.

~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
I just would have had different pokemon on their team, and maybe more competitive moves. If Wikstrom was going to bother having a Klefki, could Nintendo/Game Freak at least utilize its Prankster Ability and give my first Pokemon a status condition or set up some kind of hindrance? It was like a free OHKO on a pokemon who's sole purpose is for support. At least it's attempting to be a challenge.

    ~Other thoughts?
I'm not sure why you all got so excited about a water-type Elite Four member. Unless I'm the only one on here that played through the Kanto region, all of Lorelei's pokemon were Water-type pokemon (except Jynx). Yes, she declared herself an Ice-type user, but since I chose Charmander as my starter and used it during the Elite Four, she was always a threat.

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
I think it's pretty unique for Kalos when you look at the type combinations present within the Elite Four. It's also nice to see a vivid portrayal of personality from every member, something that in my opinion Kalos has done better than any other region.
~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
Drasna, because, Dragons! Also, unlike Clair and Lance, she is a Dragon user that doesn't exudean arrogant attitude that can be summed up with "My Dragons are rare and are better than whatever you have, so get rekt"
~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
I'm glad that they decided to keep the option of letting you choose what order to battle them in, because it gives you the chance to pick them off depending on how well their teams match up with yours (ie. If you find yourself unable to beat one member, you could battle the others first for exp.). To be honest I never really paid attention to any of the chamber animations, so I'm not going to say anything about them.
~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
Increase level and add more Pokemon to each member's team. The battles felt a bit short with only four Pokemon for you to defeat; as a result, it has made the Kalos League overall easier compared to previous titles.

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
I liked how each of them had very distinct personalities, and it was nice to see some underutilised types such as Steel.

~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
Drasna by miles. She's become one of my all-time favourite Elite Four members actually. I like how welcoming she is and kind after battle, and also her link to Celestic Town in Sinnoh I find really intriguing.

~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?

Really liked them, Elite Four rooms have always given some sort of indication as to what type of trainer was inside, but with the Kalos chambers there was really no doubt with those amazing animations. The water one was beautiful and the intensity of the fire one got you really hyped for the battle.

~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?

I'd give all of them more than four Pokémon, they're meant to be the best of the best, four just seems like a little bit of a letdown after previous generations. I'd also make them all a lot more challenging (although their difficulty level is a plus when it comes to post-game grinding, especially Siebold).

~ Feel free to discuss anything about the Elite Four members of Kalos!

Not much more to say other than Go Drasna! Haha :)

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?

The types they specialize in are a great combination.
Water type always pack strong Pokëmon. Steel and Fire types are uncommon in the E4 and Dragon type is always an excellent choice to throw into the league.

~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?

I actually don't have a favorite. None of the E4 members (aside from Diantha) made an appearance in the main story of the game, so their dialogue was crucial to make an impression on me. I'd have to say Malva. She seems like a strong, independent woman with a good nature of rejecting Team Flare. I hope Pokémon Z will give her more backstory.

~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?

Sick. Awesome animations and the chambers give a real 'league' feeling, unlike those other small rooms we usually had to fight in.

~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?

Oh hell yes. First and foremost, increase their level cap and increase their AI. Add a 5th Pokémon to their team and give them legit competitive movepools with held items and IV's and EV's. Second, give them a Mega Evolution each. Malva could go with Mega Houndoom, Siebold with Mega Gyarados, Wikstrom with Mega Scizor and Drasna with Mega Garchomp.

I didnt make it to the Elite Four. Well, I was alone there. Everyone else did. But if there was a Steel user I wouldnt have been able to get past her. Thats me alright.

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
I think it was a breath of fresh air. Their personalities all stood out to me.

~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
Seibold for sure. I don't know why though, he just seems like the type of person I'd be friends with. Although Drasna is such a sweetheart too.

~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
I think this was also a nice aesthetic too. It really made the battle feel serious. Though some of them could have had more to them.

~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
Definately more Pokemon. I felt the battles were a tad too short for my liking.

~ Feel free to discuss anything about the Elite Four members of Kalos!
Definitely add a rematch system, with more Pokemon. Maybe giving them competitive movesets and possibly an more enhanced AI to predict things.

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
I liked them! I liked that they all had their own unique personalities (as opposed to the rather bland gym leaders) and quirks (like Malva being in Team Flare, Siebold being a chef)

~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
    Wikstrom~♥

~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
I loved the chambers, they really gave you feel of what you'd be up against. I liked Wikstroms the most but Drasna's was cool too.

~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
I would have liked to interact with some of them in game, like with Flint from Sinnoh. Especially Diantha, I felt she was kinda meh.

~ What did you think of this Elite Four?
I quite liked them! I thought each of them were pretty cool in their own ways.

~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
Wikstrom, for sure. If for nothing else than because his ace was Aegislash, one of my favorite Pokemon, and battling against an Aegislash is pretty fun, with the Stance Change and all the prediction mind games that come with it.

~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
They were all really cool and exciting to watch! Especially when watching them for the first time. My favorite is Siebold's flood of water, but Wikstrom's giant swords are amazing too. The one that I didn't think was that amazing was Drasna, but I still like the subtle touch she went for.

~ Is there anything you'd change about them, if you could?
Like many others have said, just make them more challenging. I'm hoping in the next Kalos game(s?) they'll do like in ORAS and have rematches with higher levels, a full team of 6 Pokemon each, and Mega Evolutions (which would be amazing).

~ Feel free to discuss anything about the Elite Four members of Kalos!
Said it already, but it bears repeating: rematches pls!

Not bad. Definitely not my favorite bunch, but they were interesting, and their designs are pretty sweet.

~ Who was/is your favorite Elite Four member from this region, Kalos?
My favorite is Malva. I love her style, and hey, she's really hot :-P
Though I can see why some people dislike her, since she was previously a Team Flare member and her in-game dialogue is dripping with saltiness. But she kinda does have a reason to be bitter, considering the fact that we did cause her to lose one of her jobs. Lmao.

~ What did you think of their chambers where they were located?
The room animations were definitely exciting imo... well, barring Siebold's. I hated his room, and I thought it was the least interesting.
