Today I learned...

Apparently the "H" and "B" that you see on pencils mean "hard" and "black". The first one I figured but the second one I didn't know. Also there seems to be an "F" as well. It stands for "fine" and pretty much means that it's very fine lead that is still pretty durable (it's somewhere between "H" and "HB").

Chickens molt. (no duh, right?) Well of course they do. I already knew that. But what I didn't know until today is just how absolutely horrific it is to look at when they start growing them back in... 0_0 I'm not going to link any images of it, but if you're one of the people who're easily grossed/freaked out by all the little holes and things that I always see peopl onlin talking about, I strongly recommend either not getting chickens, or boarding them during the molting times... *shivers*

Today I learned that RuPaul is Senator Cory Booker's cousin and it's only cause of a tiktok about his filibuster.

Today I learned that the largest CRT TV ever made was a 43" model from Sony, introduced in 1989. This monster weighed 440 pounds and sold for $40,000 when new, so needless to say it's a very rare collector's item.

Oder Sleuth is actually a good move in Pokemon Emerald.

There are battles in which the opponent simply wants to spam Double Team. Oder Sleuth completely stops that move from working.

I put in on Manectric as an extra 4th move and it trivialized the 8th gym.

Til Aztec kids had pillow fights. They filled sacks made from grass nets for pillows and stuffed soft materials like flowers or wool inside. Little boys concealed a pillow under their capes so they could launch a surprise attack at a cute girl they spotted, and bop them with the pillow. Some girls were armed and ready for combat though, and would pull out their cactus spike, the equivalent of the BB gun to the Aztecs, and chase the boy, trying to smack them with the plant. LOVE it.

You can see them duke it out on the Florentine codex
