Vote on your Favorite Protagonist!​

Hello and welcome to a new multi-platform event, that will last several weeks!

In this event, your objective is to vote for your favorite Pokémon protagonist across a series of polls. To begin, we will start by region*, and see who is the favourite protagonist from each area**. Afterwards, the winner will form a tournament round, where we will do 4 sets of up to 4*** winners, and then take the top two options from there into 2 sets of four, then a final poll.

Where can I vote?

You can vote for the first set of people in this thread at the top - the Kanto nominees! You can also vote on our social media pages: Twitter (will use its own poll system), Bluesky (a Google poll), Instagram (a Google poll) and Facebook (a Google poll). Yes, it's better to not go around voting multiple times, but we won't be monitoring things that closely. But don't cheat, that's just boring. This means the winner of each poll will be from all polls (here, Twitter, Google poll) added together, not per platform.

Polls will run roughly 4 days, and be posted every week as a new thread (or on social media, as a new post). We may speed things up for the spin-off regions.

Meanwhile, share some propaganda for your pick each week! Take about why you're voting for your character, and make fun of the others (respectfully, of course). We'll also use the results and input for a Daily article summarising the whole event once it ends.

* Hisui will be treated as separate to Sinnoh.
** Spinoff games will also be considered! Orre will feature, while we will also consider the Ranger games' regions separately, but lump the Snap/New Snap regions (and hence protagonists) together.
*** We may see what the Legends: Z-A protags look like before we hit the tournament phase... pending TPC(i). If so, we'll do a poll on them! Otherwise, one set of 4 polls will have less options... Or we can consider a second chance for the losing protag with the most amount of votes!

Rules

1. No Trolling - This includes things like voting on behalf of other users, inputting joke responses in the Google Forms, using bots or creating alt accounts to try and game the voting system, and other dishonest activities. Please don't do that stuff.
2. Have Fun - We all love Pokémon, and we hope that you derive enjoyment and have a good time with this event!

Previous Polls

Kanto: Red, in a narrow win over Leaf! Chase and Elaine were well behind.
Johto: Kris, in another narrow win over Gold! In fact, Gold won on the forums, but not in the other two platforms. Lyra was a distant third.
Hoenn: May, in the first clear victory in these series of polls. Brendan and his hat were no match.
Sinnoh: Dawn, who basically murdered poor Lucas in the polls.
Unova: Hilda, in a very narrow victory over Rosa (only 2 votes as the difference). This time third place had a respectable turnout (Hilbert), while Nate did okay but was comfortably fourth.
Orre: Wes won out - Michael got some votes especially on Twitter, but couldn't keep up with the cool teen.
Kalos (XY): Serena. It was even on Twitter, but everywhere else, especially on the forums, she ran out comfortably.
Alola: Selene won on each poll convincingly. Chicken hat too powerful!
Galar: Gloria was the victor... over Victor. Every poll was won.
Fiore (Ranger 1): Solana won by a couple votes, after the polls all together were tied! Lunick was so close there.
Almia (Ranger 2): Kellyn wins, and breaks the streak of female protagonists winning!
Oblivia (Ranger 3): Summer won across all polls - close on Twitter, but on the forums pretty one-sided.
Hisui: Akari won with a bit over twice the number of votes overall.

Okay, so, when the trailer for the games first came out and I saw how terrible both default protagonists looked in it, I instantly lost interest in even playing the games in the first place lol. (there was a lot more issues I had with 'Pokemon' as a whole around that time as well, but that was the final nail in the Cofagrigus so to speak) The only reason I even gave the games a chance was due to someone I know IRL who said they wanted to play it with me. If it weren't for that, I'd have quite the series at Gen 8.
That being said, I do absolutely love the two characters I've made with their character editor, one being Nova my girl, and the other being (ironically) Alex my boy. Both of which are some of my favorite designed characters I've gotten the chance to play as (only being beaten by my own from Shield), but my thoughts on the default looks haven't changed.
I don't like either of them. Of the two, though, I'm picking the girl, if only because the boy gives me the impression he doesn't even want to be here at all lol, while the girl at least looks like she's trying.

I voted Juliana here, but I don't have strong feelings about either protagonist.

I think they're both super generic, so I'm not voting this time. I picked the girl in my game cuz girls are pretty and come with more clothes & accessories to stack on themselves.

Neither of them, they're super generic looking, but eh, they're both the same, anyway, so I picked Florian because the name is better than Juliana. Florian is more unique sounding imo.

Their original design is quite boring and I hate the you can barely customize them. Juliana at least has somewhat okay DLC outfit, so I'm voting her.

neither one really does it. i think the male MC looks slightly more original than female MC in this particular case, but im surprised at the results..

Both of their designs are too basic and generic. Only going with Florian because he's wearing Violet and I have Pokémon Violet

When it comes to the default designs, I prefer Florian. He's a whole mood. I would rather go on an excursion to Japan (my dream vacation) than go to school. 😂

Worst designs of the main series by virtue of being boring and barely customizable. Just defaulting to the female PC again.

Chose Florian due to not particularly caring for Juliana's hair style. Cannot judge on too much else, given the shared clothing. (Votes against the orange striped shorts all day long otherwise.)

Dunno what to tell you, homeslice. Guy's fashion is just kinda samey, to the point where even with characters as bland and inflexible as this, the girl is still slightly more noticeable.

Also, payback for Red edging Leaf out in the Kanto poll, lol.

I didn't vote, but this would've been one of the few times I leaned toward the female protag.

Also, no Blueberry Academy uniforms? Honestly the best version of them imo.
