Well, I should be playing Fire Emblem Fates, but I picked up Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of Duelist: Link Evolution on Switch and I spent pretty much all day yesterday playing it. It's...surprisingly addicting! I've been out of the franchise since the second season of 5Ds, so there is a LOT I am not aware of. But the tutorials are pretty accessible - I learned how to Pendulum, XYZ, and Link Summon in about five minutes - and the game itself is pretty enjoyable. Although the prospect of unlocking some 9000 cards isn't hugely appealing. The pack system was never a good idea in the DS/PSP titles, and it remains a bad idea here. I hate RNG.
So I've been using the pre-built decks because I don't want to endlessly open packs, and it makes more sense to use those for the (very dub accurate) campaign anyway...this is probably not a good idea, because the campaign decks are AWFUL. The game is actually pretty damn difficult because I am constantly dealt bad hands, or my opponent is dealt a better hand...and blitzes my field with 2 Dark Hole and a Raigeki. In a row. The first time I faced Weevil he had Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth on the field in his first turn. It took me at least an hour of resets and blind chance to beat Yugi in the first duel with Kaiba! It kinda illustrates just how much blatant cheating goes on in the anime, hahaha.
I'm kinda disappointed there isn't a standalone "story" mode like there was in the 2007-2009 DS titles, because I'd really like to try out a Lightsworn deck. But once I've finished the campaigns - IF I finish, with these awful decks - and beaten the duelists I unlock for the free play mode with what will probably be a speed-draw Exodia deck, I doubt I'll go back to this. I don't like PvP and I don't have anyone to test deck builds with for funsies anyway. But still! It's nice to get back into this.
Also reading through Higurashi Chapter 5 on Steam...and trying my hardest not to buy anything in the sales. But my laptop will run MH World. I didn't like MH World. But I've not played Iceborne yet...
