What kind of other forums do you use

Thanks :) We've been through rough patches (because even forums with 100-200 members top have drama) but I've made some great friends there :3

So many people tried to recruit me to Lake Valor lol but I always thought it was way too big and it overwhelmed me haha. This place is big too but I'm already getting a good atmosphere with how nice people seem to be ^^

You think so? imo LV is really small but then again I've been on forums like PC for years lol, which is gigantic in comparison. LV has a rather small active member count but the people who do stick around are consistent and dedicated, so that's probably why it seems bigger than it actually is?

& yeah forum issues seem unavoidable wherever you go. /= People's mindsets clash, but I think ultimately they all have their own views on how to improve the place they care about, so that's why things end up that way haha.

oh and since people are bringing up Reddit....I browse the subreddit for where I live several times a day, especially when I'm at work with nothing to do. =p Don't involve myself much in the actual discussion (98% lurker ya) but it's very interesting to browse and see all the discussions I could relate to, since it's my current home.

I used to go to Azurilland (Marriland) everyday, which was the main reason why I didn't have much time for PC. I still visit it sometimes, but mainly when someone is asking me for input.

However, I've decided to commit to PC now since the atmosphere here just makes me feel warm inside. The recent series of events have convinced me that there is great unity within a good portion of the community here, and I appreciate that.

I'm on Lake Valor and I love that place to bits. Great site for Pokemon fans with a lot of cool features!

I've been on a tiny forum owned by a friend for about 4 years now, the name's changed three times (and it's been rebooted 3-4 times) but right now it's called The Artist Zone. It used to be Pokemon-specific mostly in its old days but now it's just general fandom and stories/art.

Otherwise I've been on GameFAQs if that counts, lurking on the Ultra-Sun board. It's full of trolls and overrun by alts heheh.
It's horrible but addictive. I don't recommend checking it out if you're not already involved. It'll ruin your life.

I used GameFaqs for a few months and even posted on the Sun board a bit. Some people would post only to troll, but it was easy to identify.
...

I went and checked the Ultra Sun board, and I don't remember it being this bad.

Yeah Ultra Sun board is much much worse than the Sun board used to be. Everyone flames everyone (although they don't get modded half the time though I got warned for calling someone an asshole for picking on another user) and generally... It's best to avoid it.

Advice to anyone who's curious about the board- Don't get involved. Especially if you like gen 5 at all because they will endlessly flame you and call you an abortion without getting modded.

I'm on a lot of different forums these days but my favorites, aside from this one, are ResetERA, and WDWMagic.

This is my only forum after a long break. Before I was on many, many, manu RPG forum.

For the 6 months I posted, I managed to avoid any arguments or problems with the moderation. Certain topics are made with the intent to cause fights, and the best thing is to spot these and avoid posting in them at all.

I didn't get a free pass or anything, because I was flamed and insulted a couple times. It's pretty much inventable if you post actively, but I made the choice not to bother replying.

Tbh, I'm done with forums except for PC. My other main forum shut down, and aside from PC, I live on Twitter nowadays. Don't do forums much anymore.

Here it's magical... I can suddenly edit what I post again.
Ah Twitter, what you got me used to..

I go on one call Lake Valor, and that's it. Otherwise I'm on twitter and tumblr.
If you really want the full scope of my stupidity, you add on the last two.

I used to be a member of quite a few anime/manga forums. Some other Pokemon ones as well.

PC is my only forum now, though.

I had an account once in the Nuzlocke Forums - I'm not using it anymore. This is the only forum I use besides another one dedicated to mafia.

The only other forum I visit is the official RPG Maker forum, but only for support/ideas/inspiration and not really for socialising.

I kinda still remember forums such as Zomg Anime. Mangafox was interesting too in a way but sadly that forum's no longer with us as well. That said, I have accounts in deviantART and Bulbagarden and as you might expect, I use the same name in those places as well.

Eh, I was a forum junkie in the early '00s, but alas, it seems that forums-as-a-concept is mostly obsolete. A pity, too, it is a far more viable means to have in-depth discussions than nowadays' social networks, bar MAYBE Orkut (but that has been gone for HOW LONG NOW?!? Gosh, I'm getting too old). I think that this trend is mostly due to the innate incompatibility between forums and mobile hardware, in the sense that there isn't an app to give you updates and facilitate access... But then again, that shallow interaction allowed by nowadays' social networks might be part of the problem, not the solution. TL;DR: I mostly don't use forums anymore, though I was quite surprised I didn't have an account here until now.

I'd be more surprised that you felt compelled to join a forum despite the trend pointing the other way, haha.

What can I say. I've been itching for some Pokémon lately, and most of the really interesting hacks are here. It wouldn't hurt to give a little feedback to the creators, right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
