What's the origin of your usernames?

The LeSabre was a large American automobile built by the Buick division of General Motors from 1959 to 2005, so as far as cars go, it had a pretty long lifespan. For the last dozen or so years of its production, it was actually the best selling car in the full-size class.

My username comes from piplup, my fav Pokemon and confused which is supposed to represent the fact that in real life i am pretty clumsy and i often get lost in my thoughts, often not realizing things and sometimes messing up. A side note to this is that when i thought about "confused" i didn't think about its meaning in Pokemon, but when i realized, i Just thought it was perfect. Underscores instead were quite popular in that period on Instagram or anyway among some people I used to know and so I went with it. I used those for other usernames as well.
Honestly when i joined i came from a period of severe online presence in other kinds of chat rooms and i came here to make friends based on my real passion, which is Pokemon. So the real question is why i didn't choose the usual usernames i used on other chat rooms lol. I think i wanted to find something relative to Pokemon.
I also remember that I was very confused on the Pokemon to use in the username because I love Piplup and Empoleon pretty equally. So, I remember that I tried to find solutions with Empoleon as well, but in the end I decided for piplup, but that's why I have Empoleon in my segnature gifs!

my username is the romaji of ツタージャ, which is snivy's japanese name! snivy has been my favorite pokémon pretty much since it was revealed. i was with a group of two other friends and one claimed oshawott while the other claimed tepig back in 2010 or 2011, so that left me with snivy and it's pretty much stuck around since then.

This is Setsuna Yuki, one of my favourite characters of all time. As a huge Love Live fan (especially Nijigasaki) I thought it was nice to represent myself with not just one of the characters but the one that feels the most relatable to how I am and how I present myself here. I like to think I'm incredibly passionate about the things I love and the statement "Shout out your love" associated with Setsuna is one that's always resonated with me. I identify with her in a way, especially how I am on PC, and using her name has not only helped me feel better and more honest with myself, but I think it's a great way to carry the feelings she stands for.
 
Back in 2008, I finally came to the realization that I identified more towards being male. At the same time, I was reading the fantasy book series DragonLance (which still holds a place in my heart). There's a character in there by the name of "Astinus." He's an impassioned neutral observer of the world, who spends his days in the library surrounded by books, writing down the events of history. When one scroll fills up, he moves right on to the next.

Inspiration hit me right then.

So I went with the name as a sort of life to aspire to. To where I am doing what I love (writing and reading) while leaving my words behind to be read in the future by people.

Though I've drifted away from the name (and haven't read DragonLance in YEARS), I do admit that I miss being called "Asty." Very nostalgic.

Back in the Baroque and Classic eras, Harmonie (or Harmoniemusik) referred to an ensemble of woodwind and sometimes brass instruments. It's very obscure (never would have even heard of it, had I not been such a music history nerd), so it's always good to get to explain it! I chose the username due to not only my love for music history but also woodwind and brass instruments. Also, the fact that I own a lot of woodwind and brass instruments, and also play/can play a number of them (and am always happy to have opportunities to play more! lol). So I think it's a fitting username, however much obscure this meaning of the word is.
 
My previous username on Serebii was ~♥Artemis♥~ because my first love wanted our names to match. So she changed her name to ~♥Luna♥~ and I changed mine to ~♥Artemis♥~. Then she changed her name again, so I changed my name to 'Yellow Bommen.' Because I've had it for 18 years, I'm thinking of changing it but can't think of anything at the moment.

It's a little bit more complicated, I guess?

I wanted to create my OC. And I wanted to use a character from mythology as a base. And that character was Megaera, one of the furies from ancient mythology. I know that in the ancient Greek mythology she had a different name. But I just liked that name better. It also happened that I was a huge fan of the Megaera summon in Golden Sun TLA which is why the name stuck with me.

Now, I didn't want to just use the original name as is. So, I tried finding modern names that may have been based off of her. Megan was the closest I got. Technically, the name is based off of Megara, another character from ancient mythology. I actually thought long and hard about it. But ended up picking it in spite of that. If push comes to shove I'll just need to gaslight people into believing that the name comes from Megaera. :P

Additionally: the name was actually taken on PC. However the person who had that name only had a couple of posts. Furthermore they left PC a long time ago. Apparently they didn't even like Pokemon? So, my request got granted and I ended up with my current username! :D
 
As a matter of fact I think the idea for my current username came from this very website.

In the past, I used to constantly frequent various forum games here. For some reason, all my posts across the various forum game threads ended up being the first of each thread page. I even recall a case where I was the first to post in a page about 6 times in a row on the same thread. And no, I wasn't even trying to get the first post on each thread page but for some reason whenever I came in, it almost always was the first post on that page.

They say the forum user who posts first in the page is the page king, but if I managed to do that a gazillion times, that would possibly be a higher level than a king. And therefore, a PageEmperor.

The first time 'PageEmperor' was in my username, it was actually the second half. I then wanted people to refer to me by the username I preferred, and then I changed it so PageEmperor was the whole username. And now this is a shortening of it because I figured why not.

My username is a hybrid of two mythology creatures, Fáfnir the dwarf turned dragon slain from its greed and Fenrir the monstrous wolf. The accent in Fáfnir would be a bit annoying so I opted to just use Fafnir. This is kind of funny because I just replaced the n in Fafnir with an r, hence Fafrir.

Nowadays, people just call me Faf so that's my current username here.
 
My username is based on Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess that had released on the Nintendo Wii a few months before I created an account here. Sadly, I never finished that game... I might still have it somewhere in storage. I do still have the Nintendo Power Magazine featuring it on the cover.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and just thought I'd make my first post to explain my username. There's a popular soft drink in my country (Scotland UK) that I enjoy called IRN-BRU. Wanted a Pokémon aspect to my name since I'm a Pokémon fan and this is a Pokémon forum, so combined the two and came up with IRN-MEW. Kinda silly, but couldn't really think of anything else and now I use this username for most things 😂
