Why are there still Nazis around?

Right, let's get into this. Personally, I don't think these are really Nazi's, they're just cheap dollar store knockoffs of them. Honestly, people giving them this much attention and criticizing them are giving them an unnecessary platform. Think about it if no one showed up to the Charlottesville protest to counterprotest, and no one gave it attention. There would have been zero problems, nobody would have talked about it, and nobody would have given a shit. It's this kind of mentality that I have. Sure, give people the right to talk about their political ideologies, but if it's something as insane as fascism and white supremacy, don't give it attention! They're like little 2 year olds throwing a tantrum. Give them the attention and they've won. Don't give them the attention, walk away, and they have no choice but to stop and follow along.

The problem at this point is that people have already given this small minority such big of a platform that it's really hard to avoid giving them attention. I really hate government intervention, and that won't stop it. So what will solve it? Practically, once again, going hush on it. But everyone is so hellbent on proving what has already been proven wrong for the past couple of centuries that it's been blown out of proportion. Honestly there's very little to do given the amount of people still giving them attention. But that's just my viewpoint on the situation.

The thing is though is that ignoring a problem doesn't fix it, cuz, y'know, you're not actually doing anything to fix it. You have to acknowledge that a problem exists before you can begin to fix it. Just because they don't get some screen time on the TV or the internet doesn't mean they won't stop doing their shit....they do, unfortunately, have more choice than to just "stop and follow along".

Need to get people to change and to ensure that the entirety of future generations have the ability to not come to the conclusion(s) that it's ok to be a neo-nazi or a KKK member or whatever in order to eliminate the issues of racism/sexism/homophobia/etc. And neither remaining silent nor demonizing people who don't echo your thoughts to a T will accomplish that. Personally I think that the real solution is proper education and forced exposure.
 
Yeah, I don't think ignoring is going to work. Ignoring something, if it works, tends to work when it's not yet a big deal - otherwise ignoring will just allow it to grow without doing anything to stop it. I think we're at this stage regarding white nationalists in the US.

Plus the Nazis themselves were once the cheap dollar store knock-offs of their final form when they got to power. They were once thugs on the streets, picking fights with socialist gains with clubs, and all they did was rally until they got enough influence in the country.

Also.. I've been in group chats with white nationalist types and most of those people are just very hateful in general, and I really do get the impression that people with a lot of hatred in their heart are more inclined to be prejudice. Furthermore, one of the main reasons they're angry is because the white population is slowly declining, and this means that white people will sooner or later become a minority in the U.S. To most normal people this isn't a real problem to be concerned with, but to white supremacists it's terrifying.

The problem I have with the white supremacists' logic is that they have always been a minority outside of the U.S. and Europe as there are some people of different ethnics that outnumber them in total. Even they are a minority in most foreign countries outside of Europe.
 
I'm shocked that there is still Nazi's too, it's almost as if they don't know all the atrocities Hitler committed, but they do, and they side with it. It's disgusting.
I think more needs to be done about it, arrests need to be made, it should be illegal, why isn't it? I think, honestly, because they know they can spout their antisemitic racist bs and get away with it. They know no one will do anything, so they continue.

More people need to wake up and start thinking about how we can combat this. I'm glad there's companies that take initiative and fire racists/white supremacists, though.

Zafira, the thing is in some places like England (from my understanding) it is illegal to spout racist rhetoric, however I am assuming you mean America where we are seeing a surge of neo-nazism, white supremacy, etc and that is the thing as long as they don't outright call for violence against minoritys or in general the first amendment protects them and many people tend to forget (or in some cases don't care) that the first amendment was designed to (among other things) protect unpopular opinions or speech. Hate speech is free speech this was ruled by our Supreme Court, that is why they can get away with the bs and the best way to combat them (in my opinion) is mockery, satire, and countering their view points with our own speech.
 
Every single aspect of society is racist. These people have always existed; it is only now that they have become so overt, because the recent political shift has made them feel comfortable doing so.
 
There will always be people who believe that one race is superior to another. Likewise there will always be people who believe the Earth is flat no matter how hard you try to convince them. The only differense between them may be that one is mostly due to social circumstances (You are poor? Blame skin color!) whereas the other is victim to nonfalsifiability.

Then there's also the thing with words an their meaning. Whereas I assume that you all agree on racists being people who believe in racial superiority, there has been somewhat of an abuse of the word. There's this particular camp of people (a lot of them being antifa(-sympathisants)) who like to apply it to pretty much anyone who does not agree with their opinion, which spans from actual racists to some of the left leaning centralists.

Correct, although I think it's important to point out that Nazis are evil because their ideology and beliefs are evil. I shouldn't have to point this out, but in the current political climate, it's important because lots of people are being called Nazis when they aren't and this is being used as an excuse to treat them with contempt and in some cases violence.

Why is this evil ideology attractive to them? Is it because we didn't do anything to stop them from spreading? How did this happen?

I think it's important to point out that as far as I can tell, Nazis are still an incredible minority in society. I highly suspect their numbers have been going down, not up, it's just that they've become more visible lately and they've figured out how to use the internet. Certain media organizations have also given them a bit more coverage than they probably should. The general method of handling them for the past few decades has generally been the correct way, with a few exceptions where people have gone too far: Germany, with its censorship of the topic, and certain modern political groups, who have turned the whole thing into a witch hunt where they label everyone they disagree with a Nazi. Censoring the topic makes it so we can't discuss it for what it actually is and so that people can't see it for what it actually is; it also gives it a certain appeal with some younger people who are naturally anti-government. As far as playing loose with the term and mislabeling people (and worse, using that as an excuse to heckle or even attack people), that's going to make those people look like the bad guys and it's going to make people sympathize with the people being falsely accused; actual Nazis are going to take advantage of this to try and shift public opinion closer to their beliefs.

WRT the topic, Nazis are still around because evil or stupid people will always be looking for something that gives them a sense of identity. Nazis will always be a thing, as will plenty of other sick and depraved ideologies. As long as they remain in a significant minority (they do) and their poisonous rhetoric is seen by the general public for what it is (it is), they won't be a significant problem. And they currently aren't; they're a small minority that's simply gotten more exposure as of late because they've discovered how to use the internet to make themselves more visible.

So do you think people are being mislabelled as Nazis because the accusers are delusional or because the accused have beliefs that are too close to Nazism?

The people using the term have a tendency to use it on anyone whose beliefs they disagree with, regardless of those beliefs' actual resemblance to any particular tenet of Nazism; this is what I meant.

Moreover, comparing political beliefs to Nazi politics is a dodge and often intellectually dishonest. The Nazis supported things like a better transportation system, for one; does this mean that if I support better public transportation, I support Nazi ideals? Technically, yes, but not in any meaningful way. Likewise with a lot of the accusations being thrown around.

Wikipedia has a whole article on this, not that you should take anything on Wikipedia as gospel, but it's worth at least reading. The tactic of calling other people Nazis for saying things you don't like has been around since basically the downfall of the Nazis; it's nothing new. The new part is people using this as an excuse for violence.
 
Whenever there will be good, some group of aggrons try to distroy it. Ex: ever since we abolished the Jim Crow laws it was clear that we accept African Americans into society, but the KKK will still be Flareoning agrrons and will walk around with sheets on their heads
 
Unpopular opinion: There is no resurgence of neo-nazism, the left-wing is just continuously growing more and more extreme in its methods and it's become commonplace for them to label somebody as a nazi or a white supremacist just for disagreeing with them.

See, you're showing one of the exact issues of what's wrong with the left-wing of today. You're immediately jumping to extreme conclusions, making outrageous accusations about something I never even referred to. It's precisely what I mentioned in my post.

No, of course I'm not denying that the KKK exists. They are very much a real thing. But do I believe that they have become more active? The answer to that is no. They have always been having rallies, people just didn't bother to pay attention to them because nobody took them seriously. Justifiably so, since it's an extreme minority group that doesn't hold any political power.

What I have noticed however is that extremist left-wing groups like Antifa and BLM are on the rise. Groups that claim themselves to be noble, like standing against Facism and Racism, yet their methods display the exact opposite. Antifa claims to fight Trump's Facism, yet not only was Trump democratically elected and does his presidency not have any of the defining traits of Facism, Antifa's own actions very much *are* the defining traits of Facism. Particularly, using terror and violence against those who oppose or even just disagree with you.

As for BLM, while they claim to stand against Racism, their members have been shown to attack innocent white people on the streets just for being white, they've completely turned their back on Asians and they have been lobbying for the re-instatement of segregation, making them more like a Black Supremacist movement.

Meanwhile, there are many leftist politicians who are supporting these movements for their own interests, either supporting them on social media or even supporting them financially. This basically equates to supporting domestic terrorists in an attempt to suppress the right-wing part of society, so that the left-wing can stay in power.
