    What made you pay and become a supporter?

    Me, it was earning my own money for the first time. Thought I'd give back to the site that helped me develop my writing skills
     
    I didn't pay, since my mother forbids me doing unnecessary donations.

    My initial Tier 4 (back when the previous system was in effect) was awarded to me as a birthday gift in 2012. Oryx won it as a prize in an event and she was already at a higher tier, plus with her birthday being next to mine she decided to give it to me instead. Best birthday gift you could say.

    I was donated to Tier 5 (now Crystal Tier) a few weeks later by Echidna for some unknown reason. Then come November 2016, there was a limited time cheap Platinum Tier offer and Her took advantage of that to bump me up to where I am now.

    I do miss the blue name of the Crystal Supporters, but then again the Platinum colour is more neutral and won't clash with colours as easily.
     
    I made the donation to give back to the site that hasn't given up on it's main reason for existing, which in my mind's eye was always showing off what the Pokemon community consist of whether it be Rom hacks, or fanfiction.

    In a way, I was paying homage to the fact that I had taken and taken and taken from the community in various ways, so I wanted to give back :)
     
    Because it was just about my one year anniversary, and I wanted to return the favor for a year of fun. Might donate every anniversary.
     
    I'll be honest, for the username. Supporters of all ranks were a pretty crystal blue at the time, and I really did want that name color. =p really want to donate more at this point though, because as a staff member I especially know how much blood and sweat and tears goes into running this site I call home ?...
     
    Mine is a weird story. I was actually thinking to donate some money as soon as I found a job so I could do whatever I wanted to with my income, but on my birthday some really sweet people decided to gift me this crystal tier which I really appreciate because of the username colour and for some additions to the account such as the possibility to use CSS in the user title.
    I'm gonna donate anyways in the future because I understand how much effort and costs go into running a community like this one and also because I really enjoy spending time here with great people so I feel in debt.
     
    Three people donated for me to get me to crystal.

    But I once did actually donate two cents to here on my own from my paypal just to get rid of it since every penny counts, lmfao.
     
    Patchisou Yutohru donated for me originally to Crystal tier (back in '08). I've since donated for tons of people for the fun of it over the last year or so + my bf too in case he ever decides to log on lol

    I do plan to donate for someone when my pay goes in though! Who will it be? You'll have to wait and see!

    I like making people happy so that's why. :)

    I just spent a bunch on updating camera equipment lmao So I can't give the luxury to everyone!

    That reminds me, the old blue shade from back then had way too much similarity to the mod colour. It definitely explained why people used to mistake me for one at the time. Thank god they not only brought blue back for one of four possible supporter colours, but they at least made it lighter now so that it's not as easily confused.

    I would one day love to do that, but being in a low-income family sucks... can only help but dream you know?
     
    Well I got Silver from someone, I still don't know who did but that was nice of them (My guess is Forever but I who know). I then decided the other day to donate my way up to Crystal :)

    My reasoning, well, I don't think I really know quite to the extent of how hard everyone works to run this place and keep it ticking along, but I can only imagine it takes ridiculous dedication and I just wanted to give back for once! I'll try to donate more in the future for certain :)
     
    Because my ass has been here so long that at this point I just throw money at Steve for the sake of it, and give random alts varying supporter statuses.

    Also, I care about this forum, and I'd like it to stay up even if I'm not necessarily on all the time myself. /shrugs
