What do you guys think of the new web-based Pokegen?

The biggest thing to take note of is that it REQUIRES NO EXTRA DEVICES WHATSOEVER. (With the SD-card reader being an exception.)

With the addition of this new tool, would you use it to you heart's content or swear against it?
It seems pretty convenient though, but then again I like the idea of breeding and also hate the idea of many who RNG'd their pokes feel worthless.

Here it is in action: Thanks Zekrom for teaching me how to use youtube wrap~
Let me know what you think below!

Edit: PCEdit is now out. Which allows you to Edit boxes of pokes instead of creating them one by one, oh dear.

I tend to stay away from cheating devices, I prefer playing legitimately if I'm honest. But it is good to see Pokégen returning for Gen VI.

    I get a feeling I already know which "minor fixes in regards to the playing experience" will be included in one of the next mandatory 3DS/ORAS updates. {XD}

Normally I don't mess around with hacking devices; the only exceptions I made involved getting event exclusives, because screw elitism and even then they are just sitting in their own box anyway. I suppose I could use it for the new trio, but I'll probably wait a while longer. Don't want to mess around with my save file especially not when I have three full boxes of IV bred/EV trained pokes.

I might use it. Already have used the previous versions to get myself event legendaries that cannot be gotten any other way. If it has some function for re-nicknaming Pokemon or creating the same exact Pokemon but with a nickname, I'd definitely use it. But I wouldn't use the device to create anything that is blatantly hax or illegal. I just find it VERY annoying that one cannot rename Pokemon with a different trainer ID. (Particularly for Pokemon from my other games. I AM the original trainer. ><) Nicknames are just that important to me, yes. I won't use a Pokemon that doesn't have a nickname (or a bad one) because it just doesn't feel like it's mine and removes the only level of customization you really have on a Pokemon that isn't stat-based/move-based.

Although I'm a bit hesitant about the method to do it. I'm often intimidated by things that involve codes and more tech-savvy, so I might not do it.

As much as I'm against this I have to say that the hackers did a great job. I bet it wasn't easy to figure this out.

whats pokegen? never heard of it.

    What's Pokegen?

Pokegen was a tool used for hacking Pokemon into Pearl, Diamond, Platinum, Heartgold, Soulsilver, Black, White, and Black and White 2 by using an Action Replay, a flashcart, or a GTS sending program. However, on May 20, 2014 the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service for Nintendo DS and Wii was shut off, ending the era of Pokegenning for generations IV and V for many people. But as you see here people still wanted hacked Pokemon which is why this tool was created and although it doesn't work like the old system, the name "Pokegen" has stuck around.

I'd love to be able to use it, but I don't wanna **** my game over :/

I'm steering clear this time around. i'm having way too much fun breeding and having tge limitations I have right now is a challenge, if I went back to software like this there would be too much availabale at my finger tips from the get go, thats not how it's meant to work.

I still stand by that it's useful for testing out competition teams before commiting to breeding them for real.

Not using it, because I have no interest in hacking my Pokemon. I don't even need to either, I completed my pokedex a few weeks ago after transferring a bunch from 4th/5th gen games.

    Let's hope there's a patch soon.

How would they be able to make a patch for PokeGen though? Maybe I just don't know enough about this sort of thing, but the games can't tell the difference between a legitimately caught/bred Pokemon and a Pokemon created via PokeGen that has legal stats/moves/etc, right?

I've never used Pokégen or anything RNG-related to help in getting high IV'd Pokémon like that, and if this does keep up it might concern me in what the traders will give out. Not that there are any i've been known to stay away from, but it's understandable why people don't like it.

I'm not interested in using it because I have a Mac, and in order to use Powersaves I would have to be able to run Windows and I don't really want to go through all of that effort because I doubt I would use it much anyway =/

I stated in the post that it requires no extra devices, its different from powersaves.

How would this mess up your game though?

Just tested it myself. You can nickname and oh you can also set pokes to have perma-mega... Soon we will see japanese kids challenging you with 6 megas.

I would definitly use it, but only to get event pokemon, starters or recreate pokemon that I've legitimatly bred on previous versions of the games. No way I'd pay for PokeBank just to transfer my favs forward.

I'd use it if I desperately needed a specific breeding Ditto, but I have every kind of Ditto I would ever need. So no, I won't be using it. :)

I just hope people don't trade with hacks. :(
