30 Days of Gaming Challenge

Day 18, Favorite Protagonist

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

Ike
from Fire Emblem path of radiance and radiant dawn, He is an interesting character despite being aloof and saying things how he sees them he still manages to make a lot of friends.

Day 18, Favorite Protagonist

Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog because he likes Technology as much as I do and he's usually my character of choice for the retro Sonic games (2, 3 & Knuckles and the Advance games)

18. Favorite Protagonist

I'll give the guy who saw this one coming $100.

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

But yes, Megaman X is my favorite protagonist of all.

But what's this! You picked Cloud earlier as you're favorite character! Well, yes. I loved Cloud's character design, personality, and character development more then any other, which is how I made my decision there because I think he's just a great character. But 1: I already chose Cloud once, and 2: Here I'm making my decision based on which protagonist I like the most. And that's hands down X. He was my favorite character throughout my childhood, and I played the Megaman X games more then any other.

SO yeah. I guess I did that backwards but fuck it.

Day 18 - Favorite Protagonist

The forgotten hero of the War of Lions, Ramza! I always liked the kid, and thought his development as character was one of the many bright spots in FF Tactics. From the kid at beginning who only wishes to fight for his family name to the man who eventually decides to fight for others.

Ugh I feel disgusting! I got sick over the weekend and I has been a downhill ride from there. Today's the first day I can really get out of my bed without falling back down into it soooooo back to business! BTW sorry for the short answers I'm still not feeling too well I'll try better tomorrow.

Day 17 - Favorite antagonist.

Cyrus from Pokemon Pearl/Diamond/Platinum. That guy was a whole bunch of mental and I liked it.

Day 18 - Favorite protagonist.

Pit. Kid Icarus. That's it.

Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in.

I have always love Bioshock's Rapture. It's such a majestically designed locale and it oozes with charm and class, despite its...less-than-ideal situation. Obviously I'd want to live in Rapture pre-Civil War and perhaps even in a universe where the Civil War doesn't happen, but man, that place was beautiful.

I guess a close second would actually be Columbia. Seems like another fantastical place of wonder and like an amazing place to live. Pre-Booker, naturally. :)

Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in

Spoiler:

The Mojave Desert, New Vegas style. Suppose it might sound strange to want to live in a post-nuclear apocalypse world with giant mutant bugs and bandits everywhere, but I always thought that the world of New Vegas was pretty interesting.

Fortunately there's also the option of living there in a less dangerous, modern day version of the area.

Ooooh, Zekrom, Mojave is a good one. I was going to pick that, but I want to be different from all the other posts here, so probably this:

This is fan art, but it pretty much captures the strangeness and feel of Sigil.

Rannoch, the Quarian homeworld from the Mass Effect series. Sure there is the matter of having import my own food since it is a dextro-world, but other than that, It is a pretty interesting planet.

Wow, I've missed a lot of days.

Day 10 - Best gameplay

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

Fire Emblem: Awakening has the best gameplay, in my opinion. Everything feels really smooth and the pairing feature was pretty nice.

Day 11 - Gaming system of choice

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

The PS2 was definitely my favorite system for about 10 years. I loved playing the different games I had, like Ratchet & Clank and Kingdom Hearts. I love the PS2 so much.

Day 12 - A game everyone should play

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

Any of the Super Smash Bros. games. They're all extremely easy to get in to, and they remains fun even after playing them hundreds of times.

Day 13 - A game you've played more than five times

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game! This was one of my favorite games to play whenever I had friends over, which was quite often actually, so I ended up finishing the whole thing many times. Each time was really fun; unlocking new characters is exciting.

Day 14 - Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper

Spoiler:

This Chrono Trigger wallpaper is the current wallpaper for my laptop. I had an Earthbound one a few days ago, though.

Day 15 - Post a screenshot from the game you're playing right now

Spoiler:

Not my screenshot, but it's from the game I'm currently playing: Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes

Pretty much any Final Fantasy game. The Last of Us had some pretty nice cutscenes too.

Day 17 - Favorite antagonist

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

GLaDOS from the Portal games is definitely my favorite antagonist. She's incredibly funny for a deadly AI.

Day 18 - Favorite protagonist

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

Roxas from the Kingdom Hearts games has always been one of my favorite protagonists. His characterization was very nice and he has one of my favorite designs in the entire series.

Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in

Spoiler:

Hyrule would be an awesome place to live in. There's so many cool things to do there.

I think I'd be really cool to live in Rapture... Well, if it wasn't for... Yeah...

Castelia City due to me preferring the city life than the country life :p

Day 19 - Picture of a Game Setting You Wished You Lived In

I think it''d probably be the Baten Kaitos world. It's comprised entirely of floating continents that are covered in natural beauty, as well as some equally strange places (city made of candy) Also, everyone in this world also has wings referred to as "Wings of the Heart" that are a manifestation of a person's soul, and can be projected whenever they please.

Spoiler:

Since I already talked about Zack on day 2, I'll do something different here -

Day 18 - Favorite Protagonist.
"BOSS" (SAINT'S ROW THE THIRD)

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

The Saint's Row protagonist is somewhat of a blank slate, which is part of what I love about them - you can make them look and sound however you want (it's worth mentioning that one of the voice options is 'zombie', which replaces all their dialogue with random grunts and moaning that the other characters will just understand and roll with in conversations). Their personality varies a bit depending on the voice you choose for them, but in general, they're a whimsical, psychotic kind of person.

I think they just did a good job here with the protagonist, allowing enough customization to make them your own but still giving them a personality and dialogue so they're not a completely boring silent protagonist. And I just had so much fun being the boss of the Saints.

Day 19 - Picture of a Game Setting You Wished You Lived In
TAMRIEL

I don't think I'd do very well in a world without modern technology, but still, I've actually always wanted to live in a medieval-ish setting. Of all the games/franchises I've played that take place in such settings, the Elder Scroll's universe is by far the most intricate and fascinating place to me - to this day, they've only truly gone into detail about one continent, but it's so amazing how much lore and history they've been able to pack into just Tamriel. There's so much to explore and learn about in it.

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

To be more specific, I think I'd want to live in Cyrodiil, it just seems a whole lot more comfortable and hospitable compared to all the other countries there.

Honorable mention
Spoiler:

Day 18: Favorite protagonist.

Claire Redfield from Resident Evil. Without a doubt.

I can't believe I missed yesterday's. I was here and everything! I just forgot it was a new day after posting Day 17's at nearly midnight, lol.

Spoiler:

Day 19: Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in.

Clock Town in Majora's Mask.

This took me way too long to decide on, omg. I originally thought I didn't have any ideas, and then I realized there were like a dozen places on my list and then I couldn't choose one, lol.

Spoiler:

As a kid, I adored every stupid little place in Majora's Mask. Even Great Bay! And I'm super aquaphobic, I usually call on other people to handle water levels for me, haha.

I don't even know why I love this stupid town so much.
Everything was barren. There's like 4 buildings max in any one of the "sides" of this town, and North Clock Town doesn't even have a building! It has a tree and a slide. A fucking slide. But I just loved coming back here and exploring and putting on all the masks for the swordsman (he hates the Mask of Scents, btw. he gets very defensive).

I seriously love every little thing about this game. Hell, I'd be happy living in the inn and talking to the hand in the can.

[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

Day 17 - Favorite antagonist.

Barthandelus from Final Fantasy XIII. Don't really have a specific reason for this.

Day 18 - Favorite protagonist.

Jim Raynor from StarCraft II. Walked on both sides of the law just to save humanity...I think I might've said this before, but I don't know.

Day 19: Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in.

Coruscant in Star Wars, I suppose. Well, I'm always fascinated when it comes to futuristic environments.
