30 Days of Gaming Challenge

Day 24 - Favorite classic game.
[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

Caesar III,
Hours of fun!!!

Day 24 - Favorite classic game

...Well, I'm not sure exactly what counts as a "Classic." Given that, I'm just going to consider any retro game for this.

All that said, instead of saying Final Fantasy 7, I'm going to say Megaman X.

Day 24 - Favorite classic game

A Classic game with absolutely no legacy: Phantom Brave. This would have taken more thought, normally, and I considered going back further in time, but I first played PB over 10 years ago. If I can say without any bit of hesitation that it's my favorite Strategy game, then I don't think it's a stretch to call it my favorite classic.

Day 23: Game you think had the best graphics or art style.

Assuming custom-made mods are implemented, then Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Day 24, Favorite classic game

Without a doubt, Descent series. Absolutely the top of the list of all the nostalgic games I've played.

Eh, I prefer the real Link personally.

Also, no, that snotty kid is terrible no matter what art direction the game takes. How could Miyamoto even think it was a good idea to create that atrocious monstrosity???

lolol. He's adooorable. Though I think a lot of kids -- both real and fictional -- are cute simply because I can't have any. Kids are always cuter when they're not yours. :P

Day 24: Favorite classic game.

"What even constitutes as a 'classic' game," I asked. "You should just say Pong," says Boyfriend.

He was helpful.

Like most of the others, I have more than one to share. c:

This is the worst screenshot ever. :P
A Link to the Past has always been my favorite Zelda title, as well as one of my favorite games, period. Aside from the obvious nostalgia and childhood loves~ This was one of the first games I ever really got "sucked into" and fully played to completion.

The Guardian Legend. Shoot 'em up meets action/adventure game. Part Galaga, part Metroid. That's all you need to know. Why didn't this get more attention.
I want a remake. At the very least, I want this on my 3DS, Nintendo.

Clock Tower: The First Fear. I couldn't go without mentioning one of my favorite horror games. There's just something so creepy about this little man. Hedge shears aside, he's creepy.
And this is one of the very few horror games without combat - just "run and hide until the bad man goes away" - that I actually like. This game, man. This game did that right.

Honorable mentions to the MacVenture games 'cause I played with my dad, and the King's Quest games that I played with my grandma. c:

Day 24 - Favorite classic game

Well, I was never more excited for a game's release than for Majora's Mask back in 2000. I remember being in 6th grade at the time and whenever we were taking in notes in class, I'd be drawing stuff like Link's Razor Sword or his Hero's Shield (lol) Suffice to say, the game was everything I expected and more. A different, yet dark and fascinating game from the other games in the series. The constant sense of impending doom in a world fated to be destroyed, only to go back 3 days in the past and repeat the horror all over. Good stuff.

Funny thing is, haven't been too hyped about the 3DS remake. {XD}

Day 25. A Game You Plan On Playing

The Witcher, once I'm done with most everything else on my plate.

Day 25: A game you plan on playing.

Ohdear. How long am I allowed to make this list? Haha.

I'll spoiler the rest of my "really important backlog that I promise I'll play soon" but I will say that The Evil Within is toward the top of my list. I was so stoked when I first heard about it. I actually watched trailers. I don't watch trailers. But I watched trailers. And then I put 5 hours into it - which, admittedly, didn't get me far. I was having too much fun sneak-attacking zombies. Then I just stopped playing and never picked it up again.

Spoiler:

Day 25 - A game you plan on playing.

I guess I'm joining the pile of people saying Bravely Default. I have it and really do need to play it, but I have a hard time getting into RPGs if they don't get me invested immediately and I haven't had that feeling with Bravely yet.

Day 25 - A game you plan on playing.

What's the deal with Bravely Default? I to have had the game for awhile, but I have yet to get around to actually playing it. Admittedly, there's a ton of games in my possession that could fall under that list as well. Pandora's Tower, RE: Dead Aim, Okami, the first two Neptunia games, LoZ: Link Between Worlds, Atelier Escha & Logy and so on, and so on. Anyways, as for my actual answer for today's questions, it's probably Panzer Dragoon Orta (Xbox), Jade Cocoon (PSX), and Dead Space 2, all of which I just bought recently.

Day 25 - A game you plan on playing

Yeah, I'm in the group of people who plan on playing Bravely Default. I've only played the demo so far. ...And apparently I've played it for 10 hours.

Day 25 - A game you plan on playing

Not Bravely Default....I beat that one a while ago =p

Bought La Pucelle: Tactics offa the PSN store the other day and started that. Then there's some stuff that I wanna play but have to buy first, like Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix (or whatever it's called), Wii U stuff.....if I had a Wii U.

Day 25 - A game you plan on playing

Well...eventually, StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. While it may not be as hyped as before, at least the franchise itself is undoubtedly one of the greatest hits in gaming history.

Day 22 - A game sequel which disappointed you.
FINAL FANTASY X-2
[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

I don't think I've played too many direct sequels, like with the same characters and continuation of the same story. FFX-2 is one of the few that fits that description, if I'm remembering correctly, so I'm going with that.

Contrary to a lot of people that played it, I actually wasn't too disappointed (well, it looks and feels like a game made for a little girl, and that's what I was when I played it). Story-wise, it was a very weird kind of continuation, but I guess there's a welcome change of atmosphere - Final Fantasy X's story is rather sad and grim, and it was fun exploring Spira without the feeling of dread in the air.

I was mainly disappointed in the complete change of Yuna's character - I get that she's happier now and that's great, but "summoner that saved the world-turned popstar" is just such a bizarre move. On it's own I wouldn't say it's that bad of a game, just a bit of a letdown considering what FFX was like.

Day 23 - Game you think had the best graphics or art style.
DON'T STARVE
[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

I feel like a lot of games that strive for realism these days have very pretty and near-photo-realistic graphics anyway, so I'm gonna go for the latter too. I really liked the art style in Don't Starve! I know it's been said like a million times before by almost everyone that's played it, but the best way to describe it is "Tim Burton-esque". It's very cute, in a different sort of way.

Day 24 - Favorite classic game.
TETRIS
[PokeCommunity.com] 30 Days of Gaming Challenge

I'm bad at determining what a 'classic' is, but I guess I can't go wrong with Tetris. I still love Tetris. As I said on day 1, it was the first game I played, and to this day I still enjoy it very much.
