Anyways in your opinion what would life be like without emoticons? Could you survive without them? And how much do you use emoticons on a scale from 1 to 10? Oh and whats your favorite Emoticon? And do you prefer the in text emoticons or the ones the forums give you?

I can't read the first post but I really like emotes and use them in almost every post!! Just not this one cause sometimes exclamations are enough!!

I think anyone I communicated with would be fine without them since I believe I communicate well enough just with conventional letters and punctuation. I might have trouble understanding some people who might not be as precise as they would need to be without emoticons though. But I can remember a time without smart phones so... *waves stick* darn kids get off my lawn

I enjoy using emoticons. I would say I am about an 8 for using emoticons, maybe a 9. I'd definitely be fine without them, but they are fun to use so I think it would be a little more boring without them :P

I use them a ton in my posts, texts, IMs, writing, etc. I feel like they just add so much and are a great way of showing emotion without having to type it out. My favorites are: :3, c:, :D, (:, :] and 0.0

I didn't start using emoticons until late last year, I always thought they were pretty worthless at first, and with the exception of slightly improving text communication, they kinda are. I will only see them through that because really they are not gonna help me, except slightly improve my text communication and most of the time, people are mainly gonna see me use 3 certain emoticons and they are mainly to show that I'm being a goof ball, maybe an extra 2 depending on what is being said, and very rarely a 6th if I got nothing else (aka the crying emoticon). Besides the 3 certain ones, I don't use emoticons that much and I can live with or without them because they serve no purpose to me other than just letting me express myself just a bit more.

I've gone through weird phases when it comes to emoticons. I used to abuse them, then I didn't use them nearly at all for a while. But when I did that people took me too seriously. So then I tried intregrating more 'hahas' and even started saying things like 'lmao' and such. But that wasn't enough so eventually I grew back into using emoticons. Not as frequently as I used to since I still use hahah and such, but moreso than I did during those however many months lmao.

...Okay, I like the occasional smile, or sarcastic emotes. I quite hate spam of it, though. I use "=)" a lot, as I see it as sarcastic.
