    Bit different from the past Accent Challenges, there's this website that can pretty accurately analyze your accent through a short passage so I thought it would be fun to see everyone's results here!

    I was born in Canada and did not think I have a detectable non-North American accent, but it was able to guess I am a native Chinese speaker.

    It accurately guessed I'm a native english speaker, though it seemed to struggle a bit with my accent, it had me read two passages. I wonder if it struggles with blended accents, I grew up in New Hampshire so I have your typical New Englander accent, though my family is from Massachusetts and as such have Boston accents that they tried to drop upon moving to NH, but were never able to fully drop, so I picked up on bits of the accent despite only living in Mass for the first 6 months of my life. It's also possible it just struggles with fast talkers, I have a speech impediment that causes me to talk really fast, which usually goes away when I'm reading something, though New Englanders tend to talk fast to the point that people from outside the region might struggle to undersand us, so I might've still been talking too fast for the program to keep up. Kinda tempted to do it again while talking slowly

    Alright, did it again while making sure to talk slowly, it got it in one passage this time and seemed more confident in it's answer that I was a native speaker. It's interesting since this time it said it picked up on a little Thai instend of Portuguese.

    Given my very neutral British accent I'd be surprised if it couldn't guess mine. I haven't tried it but I'm disappointed it just looks to group all "English" accents as one.
    In the UK we have about 10 accents per square metre so I was hoping for a much bigger breakdown and guess as to where I might be originally from, because I am certain it wouldn't be able to guess that given I dropped my accent years ago! Also living abroad has made me speak more and more neutrally to help be understood
     
    The oracle did initially detect that I was a native English speaker first, though it did ask me to read multiple paragraphs first, saying something to the effect that I was "unique" and more of my voice was needed. I was intrigued that characteristics of German and Nigerian were thought to have been identified in my way of speaking because I have ancestry of both some generations back.

    I played around a little more with the accent detector to see how consistent it was, and now I am not so sure. It would later mistake German as my first language. Haha, wrong. It heard other cool languages too, and while my family tree tells me I am descended from people who did speak those languages, it's funky that it didn't think I was a native English speaker at all. Fun, but this oracle definitely can be tricked!

    It guessed I was English, although given my voice sounds odd idk how much stock I'd put on it (I sound Polish, but not quite and that's despite being born in Aus). It pegged me as ~30% Chinese which is certainly inaccurate.

    12% Japanese, but I'm American????? Also I'm from New York??? i'm so weeb that it detects japanese in my voice ig... but English no surprised at all here. I'm a native English speaker. Also what's Arabic doing here??
     
    I was born in England, and have been living in English-speaking areas for the majority of my life, so it wasn't too surprising to see my first result. I managed to "fool" the voice detector with my 3rd reading by making it think I was Finnish, although I was trying to imitate Borat so... whelp.

    This was my results, I'm shocked by the Hindi and Persian, but it guessed correctly. Had to read 2 passages. Though I had to redo the first one as I had to first give permission for the site to use my microphone and it didn't record fully. I don't have relatives that come from Hindi or Persian countries to my knowledge according to other family members.
