Are you happy where you currently live?

I live in a very racist/homophobic region in America, so sadly I do not enjoy it too much. Don't get me wrong, there are great people here and the area is pretty beautiful but the way people in the south tend to be so close minded really makes what could be a nice place a complete disaster. I hope to soon move into a more accepting place, possibly out west somewhere.

What do you think of the place/location you currently live in?

I hate this place. There is no economic opportunity here. It's teaching or retail, nothing else. I don't like the people in this town, everyone is so closed-minded and seem so dead inside, people look so much older than they actually are, as though just being here slowly sucks the soul away. When I drive around town I feel as though everything I see looks very gray and stagnant, the same cars, the same restaurants over and over again, the same depressed-looking vacant lots. There is just nothing to do.

Would you live there your whole life?

Hell no. I choose to be here due to a family situation, but it is very hard. I am popping pills just to stay sane.

Why or why not?

See: question 1

if you wouldn't like to stay there, where would you move?

Everywhere and nowhere, I'd like a career or volunteer work that would enable to constantly go to different places. If I have to pick one place then make it Japan.

I do! I live about 30 minutes outside NYC. It's good because I don't live in the city, but can go whenever I want because its so close.

Sydney is great, though I can't imagine being here for the rest of my life. I've already seen all of, if not most of what Sydney has due to living here my whole life. It has a beautiful landscape, weather, food to eat etc. but I really would like a change of scenery. I'm still on the fence about permanently moving but I'd definitely love to live in Europe (Switzerland, Germany etc.) at least temporarily.

I think it could be.....better but I'm content. Saint Louis is a decent enough city , though sometimes I wish Missouri wasn't such a conservative state so I didn't have to put up stupid racists and homophobic people/politicians. So if anything I think I'd move to somewhere in Cali or Canada , somewhere I've always wanted to live. Not that there's less annoying politicians there but they just seem like a more chill places. Everything about Canada looks relaxing and California is a lot warmer, though I'd miss chilly fall weather that we get here.

The place I live currently is alright I suppose, but not really somewhere I envision myself living for the long haul. Like I love it and it has some of the qualities i look for, its been coined as the largest small town in the US in the past, but just doesn't quite do it for me. I'll actually be moving to Madison, Wisconsin post grad so I'm excited for that, more because its somewhere new though. Ideally I'd like to live in a larger city, the ones that come to mind are Seattle, Chicago and Boston. I love the pride people have there and how busy it is. Never a dull moment as they say!

I don't mind Vancouver, but it's quickly becoming unaffordable to live in (it was named the least affordable city in North America last year- ahead of places like NYC), and I could generally just go for a change of scenery. Unfortunately with family and other life obligations, I'm stuck here for the forseeable future.

If I had a choice, I would probably move south of the border somewhere, but I know that Canadian-U.S. immigration can be surprisingly difficult, so somewhere like Quebec (preferably Montreal), or any of the Atlantic provinces would be cool, too. Even staying in British Columbia and moving away from the Metro Vancouver area would be an option to, like possibly Vancouver Island. Or if I really want to go off the map, then Switzerland, Belgium, Norway, New Zealand, Scotland, and South Korea are places I'd like to give a shot to varying degrees.

I like the location I live in. Has pretty much everything I can visit and it is also tourist friendly. Only problem I hate is it's expensive and I do not see myself living there forever because I am poor and once when my parents die, I would have to move out and find some place else to live.

I feel like there isn't that much value living here in Orlando unless:
  • you like being a salesperson because being a tourist spot, of course it matters trying to sell to gullible people
  • you live as close as possible to the downtown area (or in downtown itself) which is and can be rather expensive.
  • you like theme parks. this point is more or less obvious.
  • you have a car. seriously. do not go the public transportation route because while it's ok at the BEST of days, it's usually just garbage and the city just doesn't bother to fund its public tranportation system much beyond what it absolutely needs. this results in most buses running every half hour to every hour instead of every 15 minutes like buses in other metro areas.
  • you come from some expensive place like NYC and just want a cheaper place to live.
  • you're ok with being in a near accident every other day. you'd be surprised how many fucking incompetent people are to your left and to your right at all times.

I live in a town about 10 mins outside Halifax
Everythings close but like, the people are so mean?? I have never met ruder people ever especially in this apartment building.

I like where I live at the moment. :) The exact area could definitely be better, but Cardiff is a lovely sized city and there are plenty of things to do. It's also pretty affordable compared to other cities in the UK that I've lived in.

Its not terribly exciting, but it does the job!

I like toying with the idea that I would have the nerve to live abroad for a while, but considering how 'settled' my life is now, I wonder if I'm past that point.

I often fantasize about living in a shitty apartment overtop a coffee shop on a busy main street in a quaint little town not too far from the city. I can watch the world from my desk window, which faces the street, and sonder.

I also fantasize about living in a luxurious modern home.

I don't dislike it or like it really? There isn't much to do, most of the people here are super religious conservatives and I do mean that in the worst way possible, but there are lots of good people here too. In general there isn't anything that makes this area that bad and we do have a Gamestop so I'm pretty content here.

Err, I certainly love living here, because there are a lot of economic and professional opportunities. However, it's incredibly expensive. Rent is expensive, lifestyle is expensive and home accommodation is expensive. The CRTC is doing nothing about the telecommunications duopoly currently sucking Canadian families dry of their wealth. It's incredibly frustrating, and I'm realizing there's no way I can afford to live downtown, which I had been looking forward to for a long time. :(
