Casual Archipelago (Complete)

It's been 48 hours since anyone's last unlocked a check. I'm completely walled in all three of my games; is anyone else able to get me something? I'm waiting on two items in Mario and Luigi in particular (plus one more Emblem) to beat and !release Sonic Adventure 2, which should have a hundred more checks or so for everyone else.

Managed to get one check now, but nothing useful (just an outfit for Setsuna). Logically needed Flippers. Managed to glitch to it. Fired three arrows and laid two bombs to skip the splash animation you get when you do not have Flippers. Saw speedrunners do it. Never gave it a shot. Seemed to be a little tricky. Tried it for the heck of it. Got it after...12 attempts? Cannot use this trick in the dungeon that needs Flippers, however.

Needs either the same items as before (Ether, Bombos, Flippers, Magic Mirror). Snags a couple checks with Pegasus Boots, but no dungeon progression.

Expects this to pick back up again shortly. Presumes everyone to be done or in go-mode in the second Hexipelago game. Cleared out all the hinted items.

@Vendily Saw a Shovel come in for you a little while back. Might be able to get a couple things with that? Figured you might have missed that.

I can make a quick check tomorrow morning to see if there might be one or two things I can try to pick up, but I'm still waiting on stuff myself, BRC especially is pretty locked up until I get more REP. Like in a "it won't even let me do other side stuff until I progress the story" way. I'll post what I'm waiting for again once I have the time to check.

One of my games is done, the other is very close to go-mode, so I'll back this up.

I can take a look again at my games today but honestly this hasn't been high on the list sometimes because well it's a CASUAL async Archipelago, and other stuff has been on because I've not really deemed this like super important to get to right away. I have some stuff super locked up and have been the whole time to, but it is what it is, no point getting terse about it!

That said, I know some games have been super stuck for me. OoT being one of them - I need to beat the kid portion of the Spirit Temple to get the last Spiritual Stone to then finally get into Adult mode and almost complete the whole thing I reckon. Problem is that I need Song of Time, which is locked behind a weird part of an area in my FF12 that I am not sure I can access right now. And most hinted checks in both those games are super endgame or locked in the aforementioned stuff.

I'll see if I have some hints and things to see if I can get a better idea of where some other things might be, then probably try and get through some FF12 to see what I can do there.

Here's how things are looking for me currently:

BRC:
Locked behind needing more REP. Unfortunately this is the one time the game doesn't really seem to tell me how much I need so I can't give an estimate of how much it'll take for me to get out. I'm in the last area of the game and that means once I'm through probably another couple REP gates I'll be able to clean everything up and complete my game. There's some side stuff in Pyramid Island that the game just doesn't seem to let me interact with though, so once this REP gate is taken care of I'll be able to grab a small handful of goodies.
More characters especially will help and I've gotten a couple from you guys, so hopefully I'll be set to just complete my game with more REP.

The Messenger:
Pretty much hard-locked behind needing my last few progression upgrades. The Rope Dart is the big one (The Chasm (MAP24) - Red keycard, Doom II) because it'll allow me to completely clear out half the game's areas, and my random spawns means there's some stuff I can't get without it as well. Arc also told me it'd take a while to get the Lightfoot Tabi I need (Balfonheim - Hunt 43: Ixion Reward (2), Final Fantasy 12 Open World) so that will open up a little bit of things. If someone finds Acro or my Magic Firefly, that will open some stuff up. I'll also need the Key of Hope at some point in order to finish my game.

Symphony of the Night:
More or less hard-locked behind the Holy Glasses (Feywood - Walk of Flitting Rifts Treasure 10, Final Fantasy 12 Open World) since that'll unlock half my game. The things people have hinted for (Magic Mirror, Nova Blink, BFG9000) are all locked behind that. Other helpful items would include the Mermaid Statue, Jewel of Open (The Waste Tunnels (MAP05) - Supercharge 2, Doom II), and Soul of Wolf. I will eventually need Rib of Vlad and Eye of Vlad to finish the game.
I miiiiiiight have some Enemysanity checks still remaining, but I know for a fact there's a small group of items I can actually get right now. After posting this I'm gonna hop on and clean that up. I just have to do the damn spike room without Echo of Bat...

Metroid Prime:
Unfortunately in that scenario of "several items will each unlock a small amount of checks". The main helpful items seem to be the Power Beam, Spider Ball, and Grapple Beam. But really, if I receive anything that isn't an Energy Tank/Missile Expansion/Power Bomb Expansion or the Wavebuster/Flamethrower (which are nice to have for the final boss fight anyways) it'll aid me in progression in some way. I think I kinda just got screwed because of how I made my settings and having something I need be placed in a really inconvenient spot.

I haven't wanted to be like "please go get my items for me" because I'm sorta just under the assumption here that we're all pretty much locked out of stuff, and with another Archipelago happening it's been taking longer to really chip away at exactly what we need here. At the very least, doing that one has taught me a lot about SotN that can be useful to apply here. But I also wanna remind people I'm still thinking about your items in SotN and I'll let you know when I grab them.

Thanks to Arcaneum finding me another Doom 1 level, I was able to get a lot of new stuff.

@Setsuna I found you your Soul of Bat for Castlevania and your Artifact of Strength for Metroid Prime.

@PoryKid575 I found the other Skull Key for the Warrens, which got me the Flame Ring without needing the Red Skull Key I hinted for. I do still need that Red Skull Key to clear Doom 1, but there are no more checks locked behind it. All I need now is the Joke's End Chaos Emerald and one more Emblem.

@Alex_Among_Foxes I found a Small Key to the Skull Woods for you.

@Alex_Among_Foxes I found a Small Key to the Skull Woods for you.

Unfortunately Skull Woods was already fully cleared with the exception to the big key chest, but thanks! It helps me from having to save/load every time I accidently fall into the wrong hole and end up locked behind a door to leave lol.

I actually found something of yours as well in ALttP now that Arc got my hammer. A "Fortress of Mystery E2M9 Blue Skull Key" if that helps.

Edit: and at this point all I really need is my mirror (a few entrances and 2 checks), Bombos (1 entrance), magic powder (1 check) my mushroom (which I can't even collect the reward from until I find the shop lol, and 1 check), the shovel (2 checks), and various keys lol. Everything else is done. The biggest things for me right now would be the boss keys to Estern Palace and Thieve's Town.

This isn't useful right now since I don't have access to that level, but it'll be important in the future.

For Doom 1, there are 11 levels I need unlocked and 23 missing keys, the vast majority of which I need to clear the game. For Doom 2, I need 16 more levels and 25 more keys to win the game.

For Sonic Adventure 2, all I need is one more Emblem and the Joke's End Chaos Emerald to enter Go Mode, but without it I can still get more checks if I get Sonic's Bounce Bracelet, Tails' Bazooka, Knuckles' Air Necklace, Eggman's Jet Engine, Rouge's Iron Boots, or the Mystic Melodies for Shadow, Rouge, or Eggman. I can also unlock one final level and its six checks if I get four more Emblems, including the one I need to clear my game.

Rouge's Iron Boots,

Speaking of those I just found them as my last accessable check in ALttP!

I'm (mostly) just key stuck for now, but I was able to do a couple of cheeky key bypasses in Turtle Rock and managed to get everything in that dungeon, with the exception to the boss and big chest, so that's nice. :p

Thanks! They didn't unlock anything but some arrows and a trap for Arcaneum, sadly. They will unlock a check in Cannon's Core once I get four more Emblems, though, and will also help me get a few things if I find Rouge's Mystic Melody as well.

@Vendily Saw a Shovel come in for you a little while back. Might be able to get a couple things with that? Figured you might have missed that.
You're right I did miss it.

Grabbing the 14 checks that the Shovel opened these are the items of note
@Setsuna - Sun Crest for Messenger, Gurthang for SotN
@Explorer of Time - Dead Simple (Map07) for DM2
@Devalue - Steeplechase for RCT2

I still need the Shell Necklace (Explorer of Time's Icon of Sin - Rocket Launcher) and Wristwatch (Arcaneum's Rolling Goron as Child Link) to complete my goal. No rush of course. More time to play Mario & Luigi, haha!

@Explorer of Time - Dead Simple (Map07) for DM2
Thanks! This had a Chao Coin for Arcaneum's SA2B, an Expose, Vanish, and Power Armlet for FF12, a pair of Blue Knuckles for Castlevania, and a Piece of Heart for Devalue's LttP.

I have enough points to hint for my second-last weapon now, and the Doom 2 Chaingun is located at Stilshrine of Miriam - Walk of Sky Treasure 2 in FF12.

@Alex_Among_Foxes After an extraordinarily difficult time trying to get through Death Chamber 3 without the Air Necklace, I've obtained your Stepladder for you. I also found a Zircon for Setsuna, so the Air Necklace isn't necessary for any more checks.

EDIT: I also found a Phobos Glaze for FF12.

[PokeCommunity.com] Casual Archipelago (Complete)

Edit: Managed to full clear Levels 4-6, and almost all of 7, but ran out of keys. I'll go buy some and finish it somtime tomorrow. Then all that'll be left is Level 8 and Ganon, which I need fire for.

And I got you 2 more Emblems by the way @Explorer of Time!

And that's Level 7 down as well. So th only checks I have left in Z1 are L8, LG, and one more of the 'take any' spots. (one locked to Raft and the other to fire)

I also found a key to my ALttP Palace of Darkness, which was enough to get me to the boss. The dungeon itself isn't clear, but I got the crystal from it at least.

And I got you 2 more Emblems by the way @Explorer of Time!

Thank you so much! These emblems unlocked a ton of new checks in SA2. I found a Heart Vessel for Setsuna, a keycard for a Doom 2 level I don't have yet, some Emblems for Arcaneum and myself, and, most importantly, the 6th Chaos Emerald. I only need one more to enter Go Mode in Sonic Adventure 2, which is in PoryKid's game.

While waiting for that Chaos Emerald, I can still get more checks if I get certain items. These are:

Sonic's Bounce Bracelet (7 Checks): City Escape - Upgrade, Crazy Gadget 5, Final Rush 1, 3, and 5, Final Rush - Upgrade, and Final Rush Chao Key 3. All accessible without other upgrades.

Tails' Bazooka (7 Checks): Prison Lane - Upgrade, Prison Lane Chao Key 1, Prison Lane 5, Eternal Engine 1, 3, and 5, and Eternal Engine Chao Key 2. All accessible without other upgrades.

Shadow's Mystic Melody (2 Checks): Final Chase 3 and 5. Both accessible without other upgrades.

Eggman's Jet Engine (21, 23, or 24 Checks): Iron Gate 3 and 5, Sand Ocean 3 and 5, Sand Ocean - Upgrade, Lost Colony 1, 3, and 5, Lost Colony Chao Key 3, Weapons Bed 1, 3, and 5, Weapons Bed Chao Keys 2 and 3, Cosmic Wall 1, 3 and 5, Cosmic Wall Chao Keys 1, 2 and 3, Cosmic Wall - Upgrade, Cannon's Core 3 and 5, and Cannon's Core Chao Key 1.

Cannon's Core Chao Key 1 requires another Emblem, and Cannon's Core 3 and 5 require both an Emblem and Rouge's Mystic Melody.

@Arcaneum Since the Jet Engine unlocks the most checks, I've hinted for it. It's at Nabreus Deadlands - Nabreus Medallion 2 Reward (1) in your FF12. I can beat my game without it once I get the Yellow Chaos Emerald from PoryKid's game, though.

Rouge's Mystic Melody (7 or 9 Checks): Dry Lagoon 3 and 5, Egg Quarters 3 and 5, Egg Quarters Chao Key 3, Mad Space 3 and 5, and Cannon's Core 3 and 5. The two Cannon's Core checks also require one more Emblem, and Eggman's Jet Engine and Mystic Melody.

Emblem (3, 4, or 6 Checks): All six Cannon's Core checks. Cannon's Core 1 and Chao Key 2 and 3 are accessible with only this, while Chao Key 1 requires Eggman's Jet Engine, and Cannon's Core 3 and 5 also require Rouge's Mystic Melody.

EDIT: I sequence broke most of Shadow's lost chao levels, so his Mystic Melody is only necessary for two checks in Final Chase. Both are technically sequence breakable if I can make a specific jump, but I'm not skilled at spindash physics exploits so it's basically impossible for me to get them without his Mystic Melody, at which point I can get them both easily.

EDIT 2: Obtained Eggman's Mystic Melody.

@Arcaneum, could you get me the Pandemonium level from Archades - Pinewood Chop 3 Reward (1) in FF12? One of Porykid's hinted items, the Flamebrand, is locked behind Pandemonium, and the final Chaos Emerald I need to clear Sonic Adventure 2 is itself locked behind the Flamebrand.

I also found you some Artemis Arrows for FF12, and a second Bottle for Alex_Among_Foxes' Link to the Past.

@Devalue With a bit of sequence breaking, I found some more Doom 1 checks and got some Flippers for your Link to the Past.

@Setsuna, I found your Grapple Beam for Metroid Prime with yet more sequence breaking. Only four more extremely-difficult sequence break checks left in SA2 until I'm completely walled again.

@Arcaneum I found your Bomb Bag and a Black Orb for FF12, and have enough points to hint for Eggman's Mystic Melody in SA2. It's in your game, at Draklor Laboratory - Lab Access Card Reward (3). This will unlock eight more checks, provided you find the Jet Engine first, and an additional two checks if someone finds Rouge's Mystic Melody somewhere.
