Casual Archipelago (Complete)

Starcraft 2
Mission 18/83: Evil Awoken

We've received reports that, on Ulaan, there's several Xel'naga shrines that were linked to the Shakuras Temple that the Koprulu Federation used to destroy Shakuras. If this is true, we can access this data and transmit it as proof of what the Koprulu Federation did, giving us a massive propaganda win over them. To do so, we first needed to hit the Void Conduit, a portal to Hell, to stop the Federation from summoning demonic reinforcements, leaving us with just their Protoss and Zerg to deal with, of which they do not have very many.

We sent Vorazun and a squad of Stalkers, plus four High Templar, to take down the Void Conduit. Along the way, we destroyed three Particle Cannons to get reinforcements, and the first had a suit of Brilliant Mail. Vorazun took down the Void Conduit, then she and her three surviving Stalkers ran out of the base as fast as they could, using Blink as much as possible, and found a Leather Shield on their way out. They sent both items to Dracula's Castle, and now it's time to unlock the caverns below.

Starcraft 2
Mission 19/83: Templar's Return

To unlock the caverns, we needed to stage a three-pronged assault on three crystals on the surface of Ulaan. First, we sent Vorazun and Mohandar* to take down a crystal near a small Zerg base, and the two of them successfully destroyed it. This crystal shattered into a hundred Time Shards for the Messenger, and we also picked up some Paralytic Barbs, which will upgrade our Vipers if we ever get to train them.

*Substituting for Alarak, who I killed off last Archipelago

Next, we sent in Fenix and Urun**, who hacked most of the robotic Protoss units in the area's small Protoss base, and trained up a few Wrathwalkers to slay some Hybrid and destroy the second crystal. This one had a Yellow Skull Key for a hidden alcove in the Unholy Cathedral for us.

**Substituting for Karax, who I killed off last Archipelago

Finally, I sent Selendis*** and some Zealots, Vanguards, Dark Templar, and Colossi to take down the third crystal, while being chased by a massive Psionic Storm. They made it to the end, destroyed the third crystal, and found another Pinewood Chop for Arcaneum's FF12. This unlocked Ulaan's caverns, ending the mission.

***Substituting for Artanis, who, yet again, I killed off last Archipelago

Doom 1
E3M5 Unholy Cathedral Pt. 2

With the new Skull Key, we opened up a hidden door in the Unholy Cathedral and... it was empty. Since there was nothing there, we just graffitied the empty interior for the Bomb Rush Crew. This somehow gave them 32 REP. Apparently the people of New Amsterdam are impressed by a graffiti spot in literal Hell in an undefended area nobody else will ever see. It didn't unlock anything else, so that's it for Doom for now.

Mission 20/83: Whispers of Doom

With the caverns unlocked, we sent Vorazun and a squad of six Stalkers into the depths of Ulaan, hiding from the Zerg that patrolled them and searching for the correct shrine to give us the information about the Shakuras Temple. As it turns out, it was the very first shrine we found, which had maintained a communications link to the Temple and recorded every little bit of modification the Terran Federation did to it to make it destroy the planet. That being said, Vorazun still had to escape the caverns with her life, and the southeastern exit was blocked off by Zerg soon after she entered, leaving only the northwest exit as an option.

The party traveled further in, slew a Zerg Hatchery for its Strawberry. I'm not particularly sure if the Messenger will want this one, since it was covered in Creep when we found it, but it should still restore some hit points. The second shrine we found taught a method for Ultralisks to drain life with their attacks, but this is irrelevant for us right now since we don't have any Ultralisks. We slew another two Hatcheries, one of which had a Treasure Scope for Rouge the Bat, and reached some Protoss guards who joined our side after we showed them the data from the shrine.

We fought some more Zerg together, and found a third shrine coated in some kind of Super Syrup, which we bottled and sent to the Mario Bros. The shrine itself taught how to make smaller, more compact bombs, and we sent the info to Eevee. Unfortunately for our allies, the Federation had dispatched the Kerrigan Clone here, in the very cavern where they had gotten a DNA sample to clone her in the first place, and she slaughtered the Protoss Zealots and their High Templar leader. Thankfully, Vorazun and her Stalkers ran away much more quickly using Blink, and they all escaped the caverns, then warped back aboard the Hyperion with their data intact.

Now, to broadcast it to the entire Koprulu Federation, and get our Mutalisks. But first, a quick trip to Security Hall to make use of Rouge's new Treasure Scope.

Sonic Adventure 2: Update 7

I just had a single check open up here, the Lost Chao mission in Security Hall, but the item was just Doom 2 ammo for a weapon I don't have and already have max ammo for.

Mission 7/36: E2M8 Tower of Babel

We received the key to the Tower of Babel, on Deimos, from Rouge the Bat in Cannon's Core. This area, not much of a tower, had a massive Cyberdemon, some Lost Souls, and not much else. Our first Doom Marine quickly grabbed the Red Skull Key for the Halls of the Damned, then some Steel Poleyns and a consumable item for FF12, then got to work killing the Lost Souls before dying to the Cyberdemon's rocket. The second Doom Marine finished off the Lost Souls, but the Cyberdemon then killed him in a room facing the warp-in point.

The Cyberdemon then camped our spawnpoint, killing countless Doom Marines, some within seconds of being warped in, but eventually we wore it down bullet by bullet, and slew it. We are walled in Doom 1 once again.

Doom 2: Hell on Earth
MAP27 Monster Condo, Pt. 1

I got the key to Monster Condo, which opened up quite a lot of checks. First off, I found a Heaven Sword and Star Flail for Castlevania, then an Emblem for Arcaneum's SA2, an upgrade to all my Terran vehicles, Hammers for Mario and Luigi, a Volcano weapon for FF12, a Piece of Heart for Eevee, a Small Key for Ganon's Tower in Alex Fox's LttP, shield capacity upgrades for three units I don't have, and finally Claustro the phobekin for the Messenger.

After a few losses, my Doom Marines have located the exit to this condo, but there's still large sections that I need a pair of keys to explore, which have a lot of items as well.

With Arc also getting my Hookshot, I'll be continuing in ALttP later this evening, so hopefully I'll find somthin' nice!

Sonic Adventure 2: Update 8

With the Shovel Claws having been found in the depths of Cannon's Core by Arcaneum's heroic five-character team, I have slain King Boom Boo and opened up my next set of five levels, plus Aquatic Mine and Death Chamber.

First off, I sent Knuckles to go get the Camping Permit for Vendily from Aquatic Mine, then he went back to Death Chamber and found a Pickaxe to send to Hawk Peak Provincial Park, as well as a Piece of Heart for the Hero of Time. Then, after slaying King Boom Boo, he examined the wall carvings, which show how to use a Science Vessel's nano-repair without costing energy. Not something useful to us now, since we don't have any Science Vessels.

One of the five levels we unlocked was Route 101, which only had one completely useless Doom item, so I'm not going to count it as canon. Next, I had Eggman go scout out an aircraft carrier in Weapon's Bed, give its Emblem to Arcaneum, and retreat because he didn't have the Jet Engine yet.

Now, we finally have access to a level on the interior of the Space Colony ARK, Eternal Engine. We can't complete it yet without the Bazooka, but we still sent Tails in to get a few items. First, he found a Bottle with a Green Potion for Eevee, and then some Drink Stall blueprints for Devalue's park. Finally, Tails found a Recorder for the Red Magician, and also hacked the ARK's computers to pinpoint the location of its Cyan Chaos Emerald. As it turns out, it is in our Crazy Gadget Zone, and we will need two more Emblems and Sonic's Flame Ring to access it.

Knuckles himself also had a level he could actually complete, the Meteor Herd just under the ARK. He started off by finding a Chao Coin for Arcaneum, then, in one of the game's most annoying Chao Boxes to get to, he found replenishable Spider Mine magazines for our Vultures to make more than three Spider Mines. Knuckles also found a Heart Container, and more importantly, the Cane of Somaria for Eevee, and finally, after beating the level, found some Virulent Microbes on the Master Emerald shards. If we ever get Vipers, we can use these to increase the range of all their abilities.

Finally, Sonic travelled to Metal Harbor, a Federation aquatic naval base. He found an Emblem for Arcaneum's SA2 on a watchtower, then stole a ton of the Federation's Firebat suits for our Terran army. Finally, he reached the end of the level and found a Red Rust katana to send to Dracula's Castle. As for Shadow and Rouge? They had nothing to do, so they stole the Federation's stash of Yu-Gi-Oh and Balatro cards from last Archipelago, and played some card games while waiting for the other four to return.

Starcraft 2
Mission 21/83: Media Blitz

To transmit the incriminating data about the destruction of Shakuras, I sent my Terran army to the planet Vardona, which happened to already be under attack by Dr. Eggman and his Egg Titan*. We gave him orbital support and managed to destroy every Starport before we could land our own troops, along with most of the Factories and Barracks, and he found a Beryl Circlet for Castlevania and Fuzzy Miter for FF12 among the wreckage.

*Filling in for the Odin

After we landed, all we really had to do was hit the last few enemy production buildings, getting us Zerg Mutalisks and putting our Zerg in Go Mode*, and then brought the Egg Titan to the three communications towers to upload the data. The first had a Flametongue sword from FF12, and the third and final tower had some Cyclones stored within for our Terran army. We also found an Autumn outfit for Tryce from a destroyed Science Facility.

*Aside from the baseless mission Enemy Within, which I'm not sure I can beat without Zerglings

With the data transmitted, the Protoss living in Federation-occupied space are furious at the Koprulu Federation's crimes, and there are riots in virtually every Protoss city in Federation space. Nearly every single Nerazim collaborator has resigned in protest and those who can, have joined our side. Even most of the Khalai have joined our side as well; only the Judicator Caste of the Ara and Shelak Tribes have majority support for the Federation. Of the other tribes, only the Auriga tribe still has enough collaborators to pose a threat, and even they can't survive more than two or three losses.

Most Protoss worlds in the Federation are now in open rebellion, and we have turned this war from an uphill battle to a war of two evenly-matched powers virtually overnight. Now, it's time to take out the Federation's greatest weapon, the Spear of Adun.

Doom II: Hell on Earth
Mission 3/32: MAP18 The Courtyard

We also finally got our Blue Key for this level, a gift from Eevee, allowing us to open the door to the exit. There was nothing else there; I had already found every item and killed every monster in this level.

Eevee to the Past (Part 6)

Received enough hearts to clean up some shop checks. Bought everything except the last one. Requires one more heart for that.

Finally got a bottle. Guards against bosses that demand a lot of magic. Helps versus Ganon at the end. (Definitely needs more help when the time comes.) Also yields one check for the first bottle.

Thought that was it. Was pleased to get Cane of Somaria, which is required to beat two of the remaining three dungeons. Cannot enter either dungeon without the Ether or Bombos Medallions, however. Spaced on Cane of Somaria unlocking the remaining items in Ganon's Tower. Hopped back in to get a Stim Infusion for Nova. Labeled it as progression. Sounds more useful than progression. But hey, a healing skill. Looted the Blue Skull Key for Doom's Courtyard map. Does not appear to have been handy, in terms of checks. Completed the level, at least.

Mission 22/83: With Friends Like These

We sent the Hyperion to hit the Spear of Adun directly in space combat. Along the way, we fought several Federation warships and space stations under the command of Grand Admiral Mira Han, the second-highest ranking official in the Koprulu Federation. We actually lost this mission once because I screwed up against a group of mag-mines, but we succeeded on the second try.

We found some crystals here that would benefit Protoss Ascendants by allowing their Psionic Orbs to travel further, but as we don't have any Ascendants, we can't use them yet. We also found an Emblem for Arcaneum in the wreckage of a destroyed capital ship, and an Argyle Armlet for FF12 floating in space.

The actual battle against the Spear of Adun* was somewhat underwhelming, with the Hyperion just flying around and slowly hitting it with the Yamato Cannon, occasionally jumping backwards to heal. But we did it, and the Federation's flagship is no more. We will face no further orbital attacks like we did on Glacius. The wreckage held a keycard for a Doom 2 map I don't have yet, but Mira Han boarded a Battlecruiser and escaped the battle. We will face off against her once again, someday.

*Filling in for Mira's Space Station

Hopped back in to get a Stim Infusion for Nova. Labeled it as progression. Sounds more useful than progression. But hey, a healing skill.
It's labled as progression because there's two or three specific missions that require either a cloak or a healing skill to clear, since Nova doesn't have an army backing her up in these missions. I can definitely clear these now, though I think there are still items from In The Enemy's Shadow that I can't get without a Blink or Jetpack.

Mission 23/83: The Outlaws

Our last mission of the night is another quick trip to Korhal, where we cleared out some of Tychus's former mutineers who were terrorizing the remaining population. This was a very easy mission, and we were able to win it entirely with Ghosts since the enemy has no detector units. There weren't many items, just a mixtape for the Bomb Rush Crew, a chao egg for Arcaneum's SA2, and some Bombchus for their Ocarina of Time.

I'm only two missions away from Infested now, so I should get the Flippers tomorrow if I get the chance to play SC2 that day.

That leaves about two thirds of the Overworld remaining, a solid chunk of those being the sunken Frigate Orpheon that I'll need the Ice Beam to access, which I hinted for. It's in the remains of the crashed ship that I'll find the green chaos emerald for Explorer of Time.

I got my Ice Beam tonight thanks to Alex, so you should have that Chaos Emerald by tomorrow afternoon at the latest! @Explorer of Time

Edit: I am the queen of saying she's gonna do something for Archipelago the next day and then going "Oh well I have some time right now before I go to bed and don't wanna forget" and just doing it anyways!

I also wanted to say please let me know if you find anything higher than 8 REP for me! I'm super close to passing my next REP requirement in BRC!

Salvation: Failed Attempt #1

We received word of a massive assault on our capital world of Aiur, as retaliation for our broadcast to the entire Federation. A massive army of Zerg, along with the entire Auriga Tribe Protoss fleet, attacked our fortress at Khor-shakal and overwhelmed our Protoss defenders. In addition, we have received a disturbing revelation about the Auriga Tribe and why many of them didn't revolt alongside the other Templar Caste tribes. Every Auriga Tribe soldier we slew in battle this day was infested by a Zerg Neural Parasite.

Sadly, we lost this battle, although we inflicted ~60% casualties to the fleet. The Federation's Zerg and Infested forces have driven us from Aiur and forced our armies still on the planet to resort to a Guerrila war against them. We still control large swathes of the Koprulu Sector, and the Federation can't move this fleet off of Aiur without losing control of the planet, but for now, the birthplace of our rebellion is lost.

We will also need to find a new path to the Infested mission and the Flippers, since although we can technically win this level with the army we have, doing so is going to be extremely difficult and it will be faster to take a different route.

Starcraft 2
Mission 24/83: Purification

With access to the interior of the Space Colony ARK, we found that there happened to be quite a lot of Zerg in there. Since Sonic and his friends aren't strong enough to fight an entire Zerg army on their own, we warped in some Protoss to take them down. We found that the Federation had also stored all their Purifier Protoss here as well, so we built up an army of Instigators and Destroyers backed up by Colossi and a Mothership to destroy the twelve Stasis Locks keeping them under control.

Dr. Eggman was also here trying to take control of the Purifiers for his own nefarious purposes, so we blasted his Egg Warden to smithereens with the Hyperion and took the Hypertwister blueprints from its data files, which we sent to Devalue's park.

Once the twelve Stasis Locks were destroyed, we commanded the Purifiers to wipe out every last Zerg on the ARK, then retreat alongside us. On our way out, the ARK fired its planet-busting Eclipse Cannon at the Hyperion, but missed and accidentally vaporized one of Jupiter's moons while we made our escape.

We got several items from the Stasis Locks as well. First off, a Small Key for the Red Magician, and an Air Powered Vertical Coaster blueprint for Devalue's Park. For Arcaneum's FF12, we found a Maduin Gear, a Cat-ear Hood, and a lot of money. Mario got a pair of Hermetic Pants and a Beanstone 8, and the Messenger got a Sword of Dawn and a Pizza for Castlevania.

Mission 25/83: The Great Train Robbery

We've raided Korhal on a couple occasions, but it's been decided now that it's time to take the entire planet. To do so, first we'll need to shut down the planet's rail grid, at which point the Federation won't be able to supply its ground forces. Then, we'll need to hit its space platforms to prevent resupply. Most of the Zerg have been moved off-planet to the invasion of Aiur, but the Federation still has its Primal Zerg forces here from the Psi Destroyer battle. Once those three are dealt with, Korhal's defenders will be weakened to the point where we can easily crush them.

This mission, we took on the rail network. There were eight supply trains to shuttle resources between the main bases, and we destroyed them all with an army of Diamondbacks, Marines, and a few Goliaths for anti-air. First off, we secured several abandoned Dominion Diamondbacks, one of which had a Small Key to Turtle Rock left in it for Alex Fox, and a second of which had the Minuet of Forest for the Hero of Time. We also analyzed a dead Brood Lord to upgrade our own Brood Lords' carapaces should we ever get to train them. Most of the trains we destroyed just had consumables, but one had the Luminus sword to send to Dracula's Castle.

Next up, we are going to take down the more lightly-defended orbital platforms.

Starcraft 2
Mission 26/83: Ghost of a Chance

We sent Nova out on her first mission this Archipelago, to take down some of the minor orbital platforms above Korhal. She has preset equipment this mission so she's a little different than she will be in future missions; she already has a cloak and Domination, but doesn't have her healing ability, shotgun, or grenades. Thanks to her cloak, she and her dominated units pretty much soloed the whole mission, getting a Heart Container for the Red Magician from the first platform, and a Seashell for Claire from the second. A Spectre from the second platform had the tech to permanently cloak Corsairs, which we don't have yet, and a Spectre from the third platform was holding a key to a Doom 2 level we don't have yet.

Doom II: Hell on Earth
MAP17 Tenements Pt. 2

We also received a new key to the eastern section of the Tenements from Devalue, and lost two Doom Marines clearing it out. There were six items here, but only the Agony Launchers were worth noting. Should we gain the ability to train Protoss Vanguards, we can equip them with these demonic devices to increase their attack range.

Starcraft 2
Mission 27/83: Supreme

This mission, we took down all of the Federation's Primal Zerg on Korhal, with the four boss battles being a cakewalk thanks to having all of the Spear of Adun ultimate abilities and the Drop Pods ability. For items, we found the Great Force for Mario and Luigi, an Emblem for Arcaneum's SA2, Valkyrie Shaped Hull blueprints to increase that unit's health should we get it, a music tape for the Bomb Rush Crew, and a couple consumables, most notably a Pineapple for the Messenger.

Now, Infested is finally unlocked, and we can go get those Flippers.

Starcraft 2
Mission 28/83: Infested

And now, to take down the final orbital defense platform and get the Flippers. The issue with this mission wasn't so much winning it, which I could do effortlessly by using Time Stop, then flying a Mutalisk over to the objective and targeting it with a Solar Bombardment, as getting all the optional objectives without losing all four of the Infestors, since I need them to travel to eight specific Garrisons on the map, and also get three more items by getting Creep Tumors near three Science Facilities.

Of the garrisons, the first two after getting my base had a Wonder Badge and pair of Tropic Slacks for Mario and Luigi, and the last one we found gave our Brood Queens the ability to cast Fungal Growth, making them actually useful now. The second Science Facility we infested had a Pheasant Netsuke for FF12, and the third had a keycard for a Doom 2 map I don't have unlocked.

With all the items out of the way, I just cheesed the last objective with my Solar Bombardment ability, to get the Flippers for Alex at long last.

And, in return, we got enough Emblems to unlock the next set of Sonic Adventure 2 levels, which I will play next since they seem to have better items than SC2 checks tend to have.
