She's right, I don't even want to think how terrible my formatting choices were all those years ago now that Snorlax has mentioned it.

I haven't changed my theme in years.. probably never will change it either! I like to stick to things I'm comfortable with.. :c and speaking of changes.. name changes + being busy = I don't know who anyone is anymore..

My old username was Cooltrainer_Mike (cringggggge), so yeah, I don't think i'll be going back to that. Ever.

I like Limey-chan, I can't see myself changing it.

Yeah, name changes confuse the crap out of me. I have to double check people's profiles at times

Yeah the supporter colors look so beautiful... I never liked having a green username before then. It was really not my color, because well you know. I always like to make my signatures simple but also look good at the same time, and while I did occasionally use CSS they didn't really work out in the end because I could only stick to one coding easily.

In fact, it was Syd and Megan who inspired my current signature formatting.

I'd imagine the work you have to go through, I get most of my pics off Tumblr instead and if any need a bit of modification for my avatar I do just that, like cropping and/or resizing. I also occasionally get my Pokemon sprites off Bulbapedia or Serebii, or otherwise PkParaiso in the case with the animated XY models. As for my profile, I'm not sure if I should ever try a new design because I was testing another Oshawott-themed one and for some reason everything clashed.

I guess why my current one (dat black ooh la la) stuck around so long was because every username color was easily visible on it and I am quite OCD when it comes to color coordination.

ikr. I didn't really like the green either. It didn't go well with anything. Blue can go well with pretty much any color. With this blue, it goes good with the softer pastel like colors. It's easier to coordinate it with whatever I feel like doing.

It does take a lot of work and frustration to make them. That's why I rarely ever do themes with banners and such. I just end up using LJ icons because it's easier to coordinate. I can be pretty OCD with my signature too. If it's not colored or aligned the way I desire, I tend to have to start from scratch or whatever and redo it all again. I'm also horrible at CSS, so I stay away from it. I just can't seem to grasp it as well as most people do. :| That's why I stick to the normal simplicities of a theme. Unless of course it's a PC Supporter theme though, but those don't last.

My themes depend on my current obsession, or basically what I like. Right now, I like Ruki from the GazettE.

Also, as for usernames, I know what you mean. It is pretty confusing for me as well. I do change my name a lot, but I'm actually thinking I might keep the one I have for a while longer now. It's not often I come up with something that's pretty unique. I did try to sign up with it on a different place, but someone already used it. :[ Other than that, I haven't really seen people use this name.

I sued to be LokiofSassgard, if that makes it any better? lol

Pretty surprised on how everything, and I mean everything, has changed since I was last here haha.

I wish I could use CSS like most people on this site can. It irks me my themes will forever be subpar.

I wouldn't say "forever", once you do it over time you just kind of.. pick things up, and learn more tricks, etc.

I know close to nothing about CSS. I'm not very tech savvy. I've spent at least 2 hours studying the code for my signature trying to just figure out little bits and pieces of it. I get like the "this is where text goes" and "this is how you link things" but that's about all I've got. I know how to picture, how to text, and how to link. I really wish I would have taken a web design class in high school so I could be one of the cool kids.

beep beep free interactive lessons link coming through ---> https://www.codecademy.com/

like seriously really easy and informational i've only done the first lesson to check it out but it seems really helpful? the only hard part is learning to apply that to PC's finicky code acceptance but it's not too bad
tho tbh the way i learned css is 10 years of on-and-off fiddling and knowing what i wanted to do and then figuring out how to do that and remembering it. i took one web design class and knew how to do everything they wanted to teach me lmao.

oh gotta mention w3schools is great for reminders and specific things. i haven't used it for actual learning but it's a lovely resource

Even though I'm familiar with HTML/CSS for the last 5-6 years, I found myself going back to that website a few times during my web design course just to freshen up for HTML5 :D It's a great resource, like you said.

ahhhh yes much better

hmm for sigs i usually find or make an image and base my css around that. i think i've only once done a sig specifically focused on css and that was messing around with angled text- this one

aquacorde
water & civilization
in harmony

so idk. i also tend to focus on one image only or a set of three icons. i'm... not that creative with my sig formats lmao

aw no D: i used to save my css back before i kind of took a break from making anything worth saving but i wiped that computer haha. now i save all my sigs AND dump them in my blog because i'll always have them here but it's so rare that i reuse css now. like, everything i make is very specific to the images or whatever i made it for, so changing it for reuse actually is harder for me than coding something similar again. so the only reason i save is in case i want to go back to it i guess?
