To be honest, I don't like using pencils at all, whether it be mechanical or number-two. Something about them just… doesn't seem to go along with me. ): Personally, I prefer pens over anything. If they're the erasable kind, then that's even better.

I feel the same way, though the reason why I don't like using them is because pencil smudges over time.

Since my junior year of high school, I have preferred writing in ink over pencil, but that's partially because my AP classes that year had teachers that preferred ink over pencil when it came to essays & such, and I just eventually got used to it. I began taking notes and doing all my non-math work in ink all throughout the year. And the same applied in my senior year as well.

Every time I'm doing math or writing a story, I must write it with pencil. I'm very mistake-prone so I gotta have something to erase. I'm not much of a pen person unfortunately haha.

I'm split, personally.

Mechanical .05 pencils for art vs. my TWSBI vac700 fountain pen for writing.

Both are excellent for their intended purposes. Hmm.

Sorry, aha. Conversation about pens/pencils? I'm in! lol

Funny thing is, one time in high school, one of my math teachers gave me a zero for taking a test on ink. Eventually he retracted the zero and gave a "proper" grade. You could say it's my fault for not reading the syllabus, but that was mentioned in a middle of a long paragraph if I remember.

I guess you were lucky in that situation.. in past years that I have had math teachers get OCD about using pens, they have usually said it aloud and if you used pen anyways there were no take-backs on any zeros for not following instructions of using a pencil only.

The thing is, he's never mentioned it in the class, only in syllabus. I think he said only pencils are allowed because taking a math test with a pen gets really messy when you make mistakes or something like that.

Needless to say, because of that incident, I have developed a general habit of using pencils even though I don't really like using them.

We always use pens. My notebooks are messy as hell. And I see my new alt getting praise here too. Glad.

I'm gonna go rant now. I have to let it all out. brb writing a blog on some *****

There are math teachers out there who prefer pencils over ERASABLE pens. You can erase mistakes, and still do math in pen. Probably because they're a little messier.

When I was in middle school, I was having trouble with a math problem once, and the teacher refused to help me because I was using a pen. xD" She did help eventually, but after she was done with helping three other kids.

I see we're back to pens. xD

Well, the coloured pencils I wanted (quite sad really) might be unavailable, due to the act that even though this is an artistic community where I live, it's not quite artistic enough to open up an art shop. >_>

oh my goodness that happened to me as well, and even in middle school too! My Algebra teacher was super strict in pen usage. He'll automatically give you a zero on your homework or classwork if you do it in pen, even if you have all the answers correct.

Oh god I feel sorry for you gurl... we didn't have that issue at my school.

And I love that song on your profile, gotta love Bastille!

Welcome, Oxidation! Doing okay. Got to relax today, since it's the holidays; spent most part of the day playing video games. I was planning to visit the mall earlier, but ended up deciding not to because, well… I was just too lazy. xD" What about you?

I'm doing okay! Had a good birthday, now I'm just waiting for my dad to come home so I can eat my birthday cake. ^^

I wanna hear the goodies! What presents did you get? :P

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BY THE WAY!! :D

Melancholy sheep are inside my stomach, eating. ;-;

I just do it in pencil all the time as a general rule of thumb. I know that if I do a test in pen, I'm bound to make mistakes, and with 99.9% of pens, they're unerasable. So if I do a math test in pen (which will be never), I'd have to be pretty damn confident in my math skills at the time.
But... you're Canadian...
