Do you know which came first? Was it Nintendo deciding to close the servers so the company shut down, or the company decided to shut down so Nintendo is closing the servers?

I hope it's the latter because the former sounds mean.

From what I've heard on Serebii forums, it's the latter.

At least you can still play them. Good games, none the less

I guess people still have the "nostalgia" factor.

But yeah, I support Nintendo's decision to close the servers if they want to save money and move on entirely to 3DS/Wii U support. I actually like X and Y even more than I expected anyway.

tbh it's not even the nostalgia factor. they're great games whether they have support for those features or not. i would play plat with no hesitation if i had the cart around. and im sure other people feel the same, be it for the other games or whatever.

I always have that feeling the older the generation a Pokemon comes from, the more appreciated it gets.

I mean that does seem to be true. But there's more affecting that than simple nostalgia- everyone's going to have first impressions of a game that they hold onto for a long time. But that doesn't mean that you can't re-evaluate the game and appreciate it for what it offers specifically, or end up enjoying it more in time. Like for real I had a real grudge against Hoenn for a while but after a second play of Emerald I fell in love with it. I had a general distaste for Sinnoh and DP, but then Plat came along and turned that around and I've learned to like it more with every run. Opinions change, man.

Completely agree. When I played Ruby for the first time I absolutely hated Hoenn. I thought it was the worst thing to ever come into existence.

Then D/P came out. Now I like Hoenn.

I liked Hoenn a lot more back when it was new, before DP came. Nowadays I can't really be bothered to play RSE anymore, except through emulation which I can't really get on a MacBook.

Similarly, I did quite enjoy BW when they first came out, although I didn't like only using new Pokémon at first. While the game wasn't my absolute favorite, I enjoyed playing through it multiple times but it eventually lost its charm to me. BW2, on the other hand...that one I fell in love with almost immediately. I don't think you even need to get me started on it. :) I did come to like BW more again after another playthrough, even after playing BW2 quite a few times, and now I do at least see why people like only using new Pokémon in it.

I've said this before, but I think the people most upset by BW2 were the big fans of the original BW. I'm curious as to how many people here couldn't stand BW or thought it was meh at best, then played BW2 expecting it to be even worse and found it surprisingly better.

i'm not allowed to link directly to emulation etc

I couldn't finish bw because it was boring, but I managed to get all my Pokemon to lv70 in BW2 (a real big accomplishment if you knew how I play)

BW was rather boring, BW2 on the other hand were much better in my opinion.

I've never leveled my Pokemon up past level 50-60 except for in Y..thanks to the EXP.Share all my Pokemon were level 80+ by the E4.

I only bought W2 because of the world tournament. Unova just didn't do anything for me, sadly

The thing that really bugged me about Unova is the map design. BW2 made it a little better but it just wasn't creative and I think that irked a lot of people.

X/Y aren't that much better.

As spaced out as Kalos is, I felt short changed with many things. The small range of Kalos - exclusive pokemon and how uneventful the Team Flare fights where had me double taking a bit

Aw I loved BW! If not for BW I wouldn't be on PC!

(The Supporter forums keeps moving and I'm confused as hell right now.)

Black and White were excellent games , I don't get all the hate they get. :(

The only thing I don't like about Kalos so far is the long gap between the first and second gym. Just now getting to Cyllage City and have over 60 hours. It takes forever. Though it does make the story longer.

I liked it where it was tbh, but then again, it was strange seeing Off-Topic Discussions not being on the bottom, so this is better.

I thought this forum disappeared completely because I normally scroll right to the bottom for the Off-Topic forum XD Good to know I still have access to this :B
