Nintendo's presentation didn't really do anything for me, to be honest. It'll be nice to play Danganronpa on Switch (it also means I can sell my Vita copies, and those should bring it quite a bit more than I paid for them...) and I'm happy to see Fatal Frame making the jump to Switch - although it's the last outstanding Wii U port I would have picked - but otherwise...eh. I don't like Advance Wars, I don't care about Smash or other party games, and the Zelda reveals are...not what I was hoping for. Being told they have no further plans right now for the Anniversay is especially depressing, because it means the extent of their plans is the second worst Zelda title after BOTW and a rubbish Game and Watch which will sell out before I get a look-in anyway, because of course it will. Not sure about DBZ Kakarot at the moment, although I am more likely to buy it on PS4 because it's a) cheaper (on sale at the time of writing with ALL the DLC for £25, and the Switch version will probably cost £40 at least) and b) will run better on my PS5, which eliminates loading screens entirely.
Metroid Dread's announcement was ruined somewhat by the developer...MercurySteam really can't make games like this. Samus Returns was a huge letdown (especially when compared to the fan-made AM2R) and their Castlevania titles leave a lot to be desired. I saw that stupid counter move in the Dread trailer and I groaned. I really hope this is better, because I love Metroid to pieces, but I'm not filled with confidence this won't be a letdown the way their last instalment was. I could be wrong. I would LOVE to be wrong. But...well, it's Mercurysteam.
