Emblems!!!

Remake of this topic which died around April.

So, PC staff sometimes like to give fellow members little signs of achievement on the forum. We all know them as emblems, where you get a message from a staff member showing you that you received a new emblem and you can also see your collection of emblems via the "Emblems" tab on members' profiles should they have earned one.

There are various kinds of emblems, ranging from celebrating your birthday, becoming a veteran, being committed to a pair for a year, becoming a staff member, donating for supporter, staff ego emblems given to a member that a certain mod highly appreciates, ones you get for participating in competitions and ones that are just given out of the blue.

So, do you like receiving emblems? What's your usual reaction when you get a new emblem? Is there a favorite emblem you have?

I like getting emblems, but I am not someone who keeps track of mine or goes out of my way to get one. Yes they are nice and fun to have!

I have like the 2nd most emblems of people on PC. They're a nice thing to have, but they're not something to go beg, suck up to or harass a staff member over.

I like getting emblems, it makes you feel like you've accomplished something. Most of the emblems I've gotten, though were from events I've participated in so I'd really like to receive more ego emblems or ones based on accomplishments on PC ( like "PC is my Life" for example, really think I could get that one).Though I can wait for those kind of emblems cause I know bugging staff for them won't make em get them faster.

Same as Curious said, I used to like receiving them, but now I really don't pay any attention to it. Sometimes it's nice to look at them for nostalgia, but they're not a big deal really.

I love receiving emblems, I think that it gives you some kind of sense of achievement here in PC and like Toshiro said, its great look to look back at them for some nostalgia.

Almost all my emblems are participating in events and having my birthday here except for these 2.

I got the MOTY one for placing joint 2nd in the MOTY version of PPC whereas for the Pikachu one... I still do not know why and how I got that and it apparently its a secret emblem.

I don't really mind how many emblems I get, as there's no competition in earning them, but I will say that I do like the Shaymin one, as posted above twice already. I was the one who designed that emblem for the movie nights. :D

Emblems are awesome. Sure, it's fun having something to show off to tell people that you have participated in events (or just to remind yourself of it) but my favorites are the really random ones that you aren't even sure of why you got them. Or, of course, emblems that you get for being good or nice somewhere without really knowing that there was an emblem for it.

Honestly whilst they are a fun little thing to have on PC I'm not going to lose sleep if I never get one either. They're entertaining but not exactly a big deal.

If you're asking what the emblem means, it was an emblem given right after April Fool's day last year. The joke was that this dude named Lerroux or something similar to that fired all the mods and wanted his own team, and people from PC sent in a form saying why they were fit for the job. People who got the emblem were people who sent in those forms =P


Personally, back two or three years ago, emblems were the best thing I could have ever gotten. But my interest in them took a dramatic nose dive for some reason I can exactly grasp. I guess I saw how materialistic they were. That's not to say I'm completely against emblems now, if I do get one, I'll be happy about it. I'm just not going to actively hunt for emblems anymore.

As for my favorite emblems, my ego emblem's definitely going in there.

I like 'em. They're kind of badges of community involvement. But I'm never out to get them; I just do what seems fun and sometimes get something in return (forum events) or just keep on doing what I do and someone thinks it was worth something. My favourite emblems that I get are always going to be other people's ego emblems because it makes me happy that someone would like me enough to give me a little mark of appreciation. <3

They're awesome but I don't care as much for them as I could. :( If there were less of them around and they were all possible to obtain, I'd like them, but right now there's just too many for me to collect, which makes it a wee bit uninteresting. If there were fewer and they were all obtainable then I'd be doing my best to get 'em all.

Love handing them out, though! It's also always nice to receive them.

Buuuut that said, I definitely don't find as much of a thrill in it as I used to. Once I would grin giddily at receiving an emblem, but after not really receiving any for a long time, I was desensitized to it so now when I get one I'm just like 'whatever.' :P
