What is your fav group of legendaries? it can even be box art ones too, like groudon kyogre and rayquaza for example!

My favorite though is the loyal three, the lore and backstory is really cool with them, and they all have banger designs too, okidogi especially!

Maybe Suicune, Raikou, and Entei? Felt like the first legendaries with a decent backstory. (Hinted at Mew and Mewtwo in Cinnabar before that. Played very little role in the story, though.) Certainly felt like a legendary effort to capture them.

Appreciates Kyogre + Groudon too. Tied in with the overall story well. Never played Emerald, so who cares about Rayquaza?

Beasts (Johto for life!), closely followed by the original Regi trio. Birds might surpass the Regis in terms of design, but the Regis were more mysterious, not only aesthetically but because of what you had to go though to get them.

Regis! Awesome cries and probably one of the best battle themes to ever be made. Plus they're awfully scary in the Lucario movie; really gives you an idea of how frightening they'd be in real life.

Oh, and also the beasts. <3 Love the lore and, again, the theme music lol.

The weather trio (Groudon / Kyogre / Rayquaza) are my favorite. They tie in really well with RSE's story, and they come across as appropriately powerful / intimidating for beings that control something as crucial as the weather. They also have banger themes and designs, especially Rayquaza (which I always pronounced as ray-qwa-za, but found out its apparently supposed to be be pronounced ray-quay-za instead through watching Horizons)

Honestly a difficult question. I really do like the Hoenn (Weather Trio) and Sinnoh (Myth Trio) box art legendaries. Weather Trio gives off other worldly yet ancient vibes, especially Rayquaza. Like they all came from a prehistoric setting. The Myth Trio is nostalgic to me but they do feel like pokemon gods. Dialga controlling time, Palkia controlling space, and Girantina representing anti-matter which is in-between. These, to me, give off a Lovecraft vibe. Like their powers are too much to grasp and have more drastic consequences across the whole universe.

Hmm... I think almost each Legendary group has one I'm not overly big on tbh... except for the weather trio and whatever the collective name is for Xerneas/Yveltal/Zygarde.

For me, it has been and likely always will be the Kantonian birds. Not only are their designs immaculate and their inclusion paramount to flesh out Kanto, but they're probably the most balanced fun pokemon to use for me with the Flying serving as a pretty good trade-off for the amount of power you receive for seeking them out.

But if I'm being honest, I like birds. And you know what's one of the prevailing aspects of finnish myths? Birds. So it's not a surprise that I would see them as my favorite. It's also not a surprise in the slightest that I would consider making the legendary trio of the region based on Finland birds as well. (The Soul Bird, the Tounelan black swan & the kokko.) But that's not all...

The fourth bird & one of the Fiend-esque encounters will likely be named Sielunel, the Bird of Afterlife. I'll probably make it so it can be battled after catching either the Kantonian or the Kaluain bird trio.
(Sielu+Neljä. Sielu is "Soul" in finnish language, while Neljä is "four" in finnish language. Yksi, kaksi, kolme, neljä.)

I quite like Zekrom/Reshiram/Kyurem, whatever their group is, but I'll always have a soft spot for Xerneas/Yveltal/Zygarde, so it's a tie between those two.

The sword, shield, and gun trio from Gen 8 are mine. (though my favorite individual legendary is Zekrom funnily enough) I do like the designs of them well enough, but it's more just that they remind me of something from my favorite series, and that personal tie makes me happy lol.

I really do love Yveltal, Xerneas and Zygarde. I just wish they were introduced in any other game to get their lore handled better lol. Maybe ZA will help with that.

Gotta say, the Tao trio (Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem) is my favorite, because Pokémon Black was my first game, so they, specifically Reshiram, hold a special place for me.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Favorite legendary group??

At the risk of continuing to be very predictable to people who know me, man I cannot shake my bias for the Gen IV legendaries. Specifically the box legendaries/the creation trio, Dialga/Palkia/Giratina. I think Gen IV was when they started to feel more comfortable creating more complicated Pokemon designs, so the feel of "this is their first attempt making something that isn't just simple" makes them look very unique. RSE's trio really feel like they're these ancient creatures of old myths and legends, but DPPt really upped the ante by making it feel like the entire story or focus of those games. Things like the existence of the Red Chain, the explanation that it's crafted using the powers of the lake guardians, and the bits of lore you can pick up by reading books, talking to people in the world, or exploring places like Sinjoh Ruins or the ruins of Celestic Town made it feel like they really wanted these legendaries to be the big focus of those games, so they really stand out.

You could argue they did the same for future legendaries, the box legendaries of Alola and Galar come to mind, but it never felt like they reached that same extent.

The weather trio is my pick!
To me, what drives them to the top is that there is a direct connection to their lore to their typing, as Pokémon.
For example, regarding the Creation trio, kid me had a hard time conceptually connecting Dragon/Steel to time and Dragon/Water to space.
I had a similar problem with the Tao trio, where I couldn't really see the connection of Dragon/Fire to truth and Dragon/Electric to ideals.
Design-wise, the glowing Nazca-esque outlines on Groudon, Kyogre, and Ray really stood out to me, compared to all the legendaries and mythicals that came before them.
