Favorite Pok?mon Tournament 2015 - Bug

I personally like the Volcarona and Vivillon lines Volcarona is fire and bug which is pretty cool and powerful and Vivillon is cute and powerful it also learns alot of diverse moves compared to other bug types.

This thing is the best bug-type of Unova and has one of the best designs in Pokemon. It's also a great Pokemon on its own, so yeah.

Heheh, that aside, let's talk about all the Bug-types that I really like...

Venonat line - A cool looking moth Pokémon, even if some people have bad memories of Venomoth from Sky Tower in PMD...

Scyther line - A rather generic choice to include, but they're strong and have a lot they can use.

Heracross - Strong, I like that horn, and it's just a good Pokémon in every sense of the word.

Wurmple line (Beautifly more particularly) - I never realized how much I like Beautifly until I used one in my recent OR Wedlocke. Not only is its design cute, but Quiver Dance and a Special Attack boost makes it more formidable.

Venipede line - You guys know me. xP A boss megapede that weighs over 400 pounds but is really fast, and has a lot of cool moves. And Speed Boost too. This thing is the shit, and always will be to me.

Karrablast line - Only one weakness (albeit a 4x), pretty solid stats all-around except for speed, and Shell Armor, which is nice. And Generation VI gave it quite a bit more to use, and the design is cool as well.

Joltik line - I like this typing a lot, and Compound Eyes boosted Thunder is fun to fire off. I've used it a handful of times in Generation V before and it's a lot of fun.

Volcarona - A Pokémon based on the sun. Quiver Dance. Massive Special and Speed. No more explanation needed beyond that.

I voted for the Sewaddle/Swadloon line because they're just wayyy too cute, and they've been my mascots for almost a year now. ^.^

(I wouldn't be surprised if one of them surpassed Bulbasaur as my all-time favorite Pokémon later in the future. xD)

Scyther, Scizor - I love Scyther and Scizor! Scizor has an AWESOME design, and I like the steel-type of it >.< A cool bug Pokémon indeed >.<

Yanma, Yanmega - Yanma and Yanmega are awesome bug-type Pokémon! Yanmega has high-speed, an awesome design, and it can be a monster in battle! Love it!

Heracross - Ooooooh this guy! That Bug/Fighting type is sooooo cool! And its design? ... AWESOME! I love its stats and its Mega-Evolution is super cool! I used it several times >.<

Combee, Vespiquen - I just ... like them! '-' I don't have an actual reason for why I voted on this line! They are just ... cool xD

Sewaddle, Swadloon, Leavanny - I love them, I love them, I love them! I love their part grass-type and they are so cute *-*

Joltik, Galvantula - They have an unique type and a beautiful design! Love them!

My votes went to:

Scyther, Scizor - These two feel both like they're fully evolved Pokémon, as their base stat totals are equal and Scyther used to be one in the first gen. I love both of them, they're one of the only bug Pokémon that have decent stats from the first few generations and they're monsters with blades and claws as arms.

Shuckle - While it's not the most interesting Pokémon, its stats and limited movepool surely give it an interesting way to play with. It may be a hell to train the thing, but it's a lot of fun to use in places like the Battle Frontier.

Nincada, Ninjask, Shedinja - While I mainly picked these because of Shedinja's Wonder Guard, which is an amazing ability, Ninjask has shown to be a very valuable team member when I was battling my friend in the third gen. Speed Boost, Swords Dance and Baton Pass did the thing.

Bug-type is probably one of my lesser favourites of all the types, but I still voted for a few.

Spinirak & Ariados - By far my favourite Bug Pokemon line and my second ever Pokemon to reach Level 100.

Ledyba & Ledian - Again one of my favourites of the Bug Pokemon, great counterparts to Spinirak and Ariados too.

Yanma & Yanmega - The Yanma line went way up in my estimation once they introduced Yanmega. I love how this Pokemon looks, moves and it can be so useful competitively.

Kriketot & Kricketune - Not the strongest of all Pokemon, but I just like how they both look.

Combee & Vespiquen - Vespiquen is in my top three of the Sinnoh Pokemon, I love the unique design and it can learn some killer signature moves!

Just like in the Electric poll, Galvantula is one of my favorite leads.

Scatterbug line
Vivillon is one of my favorite bug type designs. Along with Scatterbug and Spewpa.

I admit this is kinda for nostalgia reasons and i like Butterfree better than Beedrill.

Scyther/Scizor
I actually don't like Scizor very much but Scyther is a very awesome and cool looking bug type. I love its design.

Wurmple Line
I only voted for this because of Beautifly.

Sewaddle/Swadloon/Leavanny
Sewaddle is cute and the whole line has some nicer Bug type Pokémon.

Joltik/Galvantula
Even though I'm not a big fan of spiders IRL those are some cute ones here, especially Joltik^^

Vivillon
This is my favourite out of my votes in this poll. It's pretty and collecting Vivillon is just so much fun and a nice incentive to trade Pokémon around the world. I am also still working on my Vivillon collection in Pokémon Rumble World and in the 6th gen games too.

Caterpie line - I couldn't pass up a vote for these guys! Caterpie was too cute in the anime. :)

Ledyba & Ledian - These two are quite forgotten. I actually really love Ledian's design so he won my vote!

Yanma & Yanmega - Fast, awesome and often monstrous in battle, Yanmega has always helped me win in competitive play!

Wurmple line - I find Wurmple to actually be cute for a caterpillar Pokemon, even though I don't particularly like Silcoon/Cascoon. Beautifly is one of my favourite Bug-types and her shiny version is even better! Dustox is okay too. :D

Surskit & Masquerain - Surskit is cute in its own right. It reminds me of something out of Noragami or Studio Ghibli, or even of one of those weird blue spider things in Super Mario 64. xD There should be more Bug/Water-types imo. As for Masquerain, I've always liked it. Not sure why, I guess its just sorta pretty looking.

Mothim - No love for Mothim? :o

Sewaddle line - I love these guys! They probably make my second favourite Bug-types. :D I ADORE Swadloon! Sewaddle is also one of the cuter bug 'mons, and I like praying mantises so Leavanny earns my love. <3

Joltik & Galvantula - I didn't realise just how much I love these Pokemon until I used them in Black 2. :D Their unusual typing makes them fun to battle with.

Volcarona - Last but not least! I really hope Volcarona wins this tournament because she well deserves it with her unique typing, beautiful design and great movepool! She's up there with Genesect, Scizor and Heracross battle-wise.

There were so many to choose from! I picked: Beedrill, Scizor, Yanmega, Nincada, Genesect, and Vivillon. Except Genesect, I've had all of these Pokemon on my team, and I love them very much!

Looks like the first week of voting has come to a close for this year's Favorite Pokemon Tournament. While participation isn't quite as close to last year's levels, hopefully we'll see it pick up as the polls roll on!

While there were some clear favorites in this poll, no one really bugged our eventual winners, Scyther and Scizor! This is the third straight year that these two have finished on top of the Bug type poll, though they missed out on the inaugural finale due to a tie-breaker. In any event, best of luck to Scyther and Scizor in the final poll!
