What is your favourite location in each region? It can be a city, town, route, or any other area included in the Pokémon universe!

    This is tough!

Kanto: Cinnabar Mansion (love the history there!)
Johto: Easily Ecruteak, such a beautiful place ❤️
Hoenn: Contest Hall ORAS… purely for that awesome music. But also Sootopolis.
Sinnoh: Fantina's BDSP gym, I absolutely adore what they did with the background.
Unova: N's Castle. Love the lore here, and it is easily one of the most unique-looking places in the series.
Kalos: As messy as it was to navigate, Lumiose.
    Alola: Seafolk Village really relaxes me, especially at night because of the lovely music. But honestly, I love so many places in this region. ;__;
Galar: Ballonlea!! I just wish they made it bigger than it was in the games. But gosh it is so pretty.

Kanto: Seafoam Islands, from gen IV onward that is. Originally in RBY as a kid I couldn't even tell it was supposed to be an icy area lol
Johto: Whirl Islands. Couldn't think of anything else for Johto tbh xD
Hoenn: Sootopolis. I just like the location =3
Sinnoh: Route 217. What can I say I'm a sucker for snowy areas.
Unova: White Forest. Kinda hard to say tbh as Unova is just not memorable to me, but White Forest & Black City came to mind and I preferred White Forest of the two.
Kalos: Mamoswine Road. I spent so much time here just playing with the Mamoswine in Y rofl
Alola: Mount Lanakila. I like Mount Hokulani too, but that doesn't have any snowy/icy areas so....
Galar: Ballonlea. It and Glimwood Tangle are the first locations that just scream Fairy Forest imo and I love it.

Kanto: Viridian Forest. It's nostalgic, feels cozy to me and hints at a great adventure that's waiting ahead. It helps that I also like Bug types a lot.

Johto: Ecruteak City. One of the best locations in the entire franchise. Beautiful, full of amazing history and lore to learn about.

Hoenn: Fortree City. Beautiful city that lives together with nature instead of destroying it. Would love to try living in a jungle city with treehouses, I think it would be a cool experience.

Sinnoh: Valley Windworks. Idk why I like it but I do. I think it's neat with all the windmills, it's also a little nostalgic for me because I always get at least one team member in this area since it's full of interesting Pokemon. Purugly battle also makes it memorable since it's the first "real" challenge you face in Sinnoh imo.

Unova: Chargestone Cave. Super cool and unique cave, the only cave in Pokemon that I enjoy going through actually. Also very beautiful and full of cool Pokemon. Most beautiful Cave in the Pokemon franchise so far imo.

Kalos: Route 8. I like how it has two levels to it, it's just a beautiful cliff+beach route. I always feel good when I reach this route, sometimes it almost feels like I reached a new region when I exit the Connecting Cave. You also get access to a bunch of cool Pokemon.

Alola: Seafolk Village. I like how it looks, the village on the water is cool to me. I also like the lore about people from other regions coming here and living free and unfettered on their boats. The Pokemon boats are also super cool, that Steelix boat is amazing and Magikarp one is kinda cute.

Galar: Glimwood Tangle. I like how mysterious it is but also kinda peaceful at the same time. The luminescent mushrooms are also super cool and beautiful.

Everyone seems to be doing game locations so I'll mix things up by throwing some anime ones in there as well.

Kanto: Cinnabar Island. Some cool locations like the Pokemon Mansion and Cinnabar Lab, plus I like the idea of the relocation and possible rebuilding post volcanic eruption.
Johto: Alto Mare from the 5th Pokemon movie. Based off Venice and supposedly south of Azalea, it is one of the most picturesque locations in the anime
Hoenn: LaRousse City from the Destiny Deoxys movie. Another location based off a real-life place outside of Japan- this time my hometown of Vancouver!
Sinnoh: The whole Battle Zone Island. Maybe cheating a bit, but I like the addition of a mini-region similar to the Sevii Islands in FR/LG
Unova: A tie between Village Bridge and the Pokestar Studios. Also shoutout to Join Avenue- was fun seeing more stuff pop up the more you interacted with people online.
Kalos: Parfum Palace, based off of the Palace in Versailles. One of the few locations that really stuck out to me in Kalos.
Alola: Even if not a physical piece of land itself, I thought the Aether Paradise was a really cool concept.
Galar: Motostoke. Even if the city itself was a bit clunky, the whole steam powered atmosphere really interested me.

I can't believe I forgot this! The location was one of my favorites in the entire series, I wish we had the chance to explore it in a game. Going to have to add this to my list too. <3

Speaking of anime-onlies, I'm also a big fan of Bill's Lighthouse (Kanto). That episode was quite eerie and the entire location felt so different compared to what you usually see in the series. It gives me shivers, in a good way.

Kanto - Saffron City. I've always been a city boy at heart, so why not choose the biggest city in the region?

Johto - Olivine City. Has a beach so my partner will love it + it's close to the Battle Frontier on HGSS, so that's neat~

Hoenn - Sorta controversial, but I actually really like the new Mauville City in the remakes. Makes the place feel like one giant mall city. I'm a fan.

Sinnoh - I wanna live in an apartment at either Jubilife or Veilstone. Whichever has cheaper rent.

Unova - Castelia City hands down. Felt so cozy exploring all the high rises and experiencing Japan's rendition of New York in a Pokemon game~

Kalos - Lumiose City baby. Incredibly huge and easy to get lost in, so I'll always have places to explore when I'm bored in my condo lol.

Alola - That place where the big discount shopping mart was located, forgot its name. But I'd love to bulk buy groceries there constantly. Hopefully it stays in business long...

Galar - Haven't played this region yet, so I'll just pick a safe answer and say Postwick, the cozy starting home which looks really good in YT vids lol.

This is so tough. Mainly because I'm realising I haven't retained the location names for later generations nearly as well as earlier ones.

Kanto: Vermilion City. I like the routes surrounding it, the port and the music.

Johto: So tough, especially after the facelift it got in HGSS. Going to go with Ecruteak, but there are so many nicely designed towns and areas in Johto.

Hoenn: Another awesome region, but I'm going with Fortree for uniqueness. It's just a fun part of the game, your starter is reaching its final evolution, the story is progressing nicely, and there's interesting routes to explore either side of Fortree too.

Sinnoh: Feels a bit bland compared to past regions. Sunyshore City has a cool theme, cool gym and Jasmine appeared there making me nostalgic/hopeful for more Johto content.

Unova: Unova can only be considered complete with the locations added in B2W2. Humilau City has an awesome design, awesome theme, and is reached at an awesome point in an awesome game. It's awesome.

Kalos: Lumiose City, easy. Very unique design, first "proper" 3D city we've ever had, loads of cool spots like clothes shops, cafés, etc.

Alola: Very hard to decide, Alola is a wonderfully designed region. Probably Malie City though, for it's (apparent) connections to Johto. I just like the park area and the city itself is cool.

Galar: They put a lot of effort into the visuals of the locations in Galar, although they didn't quite pack the same impact as past games for me. I'll give this to the Isle Of Armor entirely, because it was our first full open-world experience, not counting the Wild Area (which was broke up by regular formulaic Pokémon-style).

Kanto: Celadon City. Enjoys bigger cities, in general. Features more landmarks and things for the player to do (buy items, play slots). Gives an honorary mention to the Safari Zone.

Johto: Goldenrod City. As above. Introduces happiness mechanics with bitter medicine and haircuts. Based the radio station and train station there. Stuck the Bug Catching Contest and daycare nearby too.

Hoenn: The secret base. Felt like your own place. Would have liked more to do there, though.

Sinnoh: Does the Underground count? Remembers few other locations. Enjoyed that area more than anywhere else. Liked the idea of entering at different points, depending on where you were.

Unova: ...Nimbasa City? Never cared much for Castelia City. Forgot most of the locations in Unova.

Kalos: Lumiose City. Same reason as Celadon and Johto. Rammed a lot of stores in here: Juice Shoppe, Loto-ID, clothing, haircuts, trainer videos, battle restaurants, a museum, some dance place for one of your rivals, the train station, and Battle Institute. Stinks for navigating, however. Usually wanders in circles to find anywhere. Surprises you with some stores in alleys, on a positive note.

Alola: Decentralized the stores in Alola. Makes it harder. Probably Malie City, with Koni Koni City a close second.

Galar: Motostoke. Preferred the mechanical theme to it. Offered more sidepaths and alleyways than other cities. Appreciated the Wild Area (original) here too. Gave the vibe of the Kanto Safari Zone here. Finds all sorts of Pokemon. Might catch something unique and interesting. Cared less for the DLC Wild Areas due to being in completionist mode.

I'm quite late to responding to my own prompt, though I thought I'd share!

Kanto: Cameron Palace and The Tree of Beginning

Whilst not explicitly stated, Cameran Palace as well as the Tree of Beginning are believed to be located both in kanto, both locations being present in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew! Cameran palace is so incredibly elegant, I'm absolutely enamoured by it. The Tree of Beginning is absolutely fascinating to me! It is a rock formation filled with lakes, vegetation, beautiful crystals, one that provides home to countless Pokémon, including Mew, and that has a symbiotic relationship with said Pokémon. The Tree of Beginning is perhaps the most unique and iconic location in the entire Pokémon universe in my humble opinion!

Of course, I must mention Celadon City! I've always found Celadon to be quite beautiful, though my love for the city stems from my adoration of gym leader Erica! How I'd love to take one of her flower-arranging classes!

    Johto: Ecruteak City

I love the traditional design and overall feel of Ecruteak. From the burned tower, to the theatre wherein Geisha gracefully perform on stage, Ecruteak is a location full of beauty.

    Hoenn: Slateport City

Slateport has such an upbeat, summery vibe. It also feels like the home of Pokémon contests! Overall, visiting this city in game simply uplifts the spirit, filling one with an unexplainable feeling of utter jubilant! It's tremendous!

I also love Forina from Jirachi: Wishmaker! For those who are unfamiliar with said movie, Forina is the valley where lies the cave that Jirachi lays dormant in. It was such a beautiful place that I'll never forget.

    Sinnoh: Floaroma Town

Such a serene, tranquil place, a quaint town settled amongst a field of vivid flowers. If I were to reside anywhere within the Pokémon universe, it would be here, without a doubt. It has long been my favourite location simply due to its beauty. I adore flowers and to live somewhere wherein I'm encompassed by them sounds most exquisite! I feel as though a resident of Floaroma town would breeze through life without a single worry!

A notable location that I love is Alamos Town from the Rise of Darkrai! The Space-Time tower is magnificent! I love the lore surrounding it and the movie itself is just perfection. How I'd love to listen to Oracion being played by the Space-Time tower, one can only dream!!

    Unova: Castellia City

The first time crossing Skyarrow Bridge into Castellia was wordlessly mesmerizing. Castellia is bustling, larger than life, it's a stunning metropolis with endless locations to explore. It feels like a major city perhaps more than any other location, it truly stands out.

    Kalos: Lumiose City

Kalos is my favourite region in terms of design, it is indescribably beautiful, which each and every city possessing such undeniable charm. That being said, picking a favourite location is no easy task, and I was going back and forth between several different cities. The winner, however, is Lumiose. With endless places to explore, the city makes for a stupendous place to explore. Being the location of the Looker mission certainly helps.

    Alola: Maile City

Maile city had such a wonderful soundtrack, that's the first thing that comes to mind when I think about this Alolan city. Maile garden was my favourite location in said city, it had such a serene atmosphere in which was most enjoyable.

    Galar: Ballonlea

Perhaps my favourite location of all aside from Floaroma, Ballonlea is absolutely breathtaking. Such a whimsical place, it feels like something out of a dream, it is absolutely, indescribably exquisite. I would live there in a heartbeat. From the stunning illuminated mushrooms to the striking Bavarian-style buildings, Ballonlea is a city of wonderment. Every city in Galar was remarkable, but Ballonlea certainly takes the cake.

Kanto: Cinnabar Mansion. Because of its history.

Johto: Ecruteak City. Because of how natural it is.

Hoenn: Fortree. Because of how much the storyline progresses, and how unique this area is compared to other areas of Hoenn.

Sinnoh: Hearthrome City. There is so much to do here in the game.

Unova: N's Castle. It's easily one the most unique places in the series. I had a tough time deciding what to put for Univa, but decided on this one.

Kalos: Lumiose City. Just because of its fantastic soundtrack, and it's super fun to roller-skate around.

Alola: Maile. I'llchoose this because of its soundtrack.

Galar. Wyndon. The amount of effort that went into the design of this city is incredible.

    Kanto
    - Not exactly the most inspiring of regions, is it? The focus was - rightly - on the monsters. That being said, in Gen IV Viridian Forest is incredibly chill, and that moment where you land after Surfing East from Johto and the score for Route 26/27 kicks in is epic. The Route 12, 13, 14 boardwalks also have good vibes, but it'd be between Vermiliion City (Gen IV gave a whole new appreciation) or Viridian Forest.

    Johto
    - Ecruteak. Obvious, I know. But the towers are cool (although Sprout Tower is more fun - Bellsprout monks!), the music is awesome (in Gen IV I genuinely did not notice that it was based off the same track as Cianwood, which I had heard frequently in FrLG closer to its original form), and a lot happens there.
    - Route 47 and 48 - really cool music, great interactions with walking Pokémon, links to a Safari Zone which - in spite of the stupid time requirements - is great fun unlike the original, has the legendary trio from my first game available in a neat location and I caught a shiny Gloom there which is now an EV'd, Gen IV-conquering Vileplume!

    Sinnoh
    - I really like the Lakes. Music, the legendaries, everything. Also I'm quite near to a lot of lakes irl.
    - Snowpoint City's theme is a favourite, as is Route 216. That whole area North of Mt. Coronet is cool.
    - IRL I would despise Floaroma Town, hay fever is miserable like that.
    - Specific hate for Battle Zone. In DPBDSP its boring but in Platinum its geography is infuriating. Just because there's a volcano doesn't mean its tropical!!! The geography of the mainland clearly indicates that Sinnoh is in the northern hemisphere, yet the most Northeasterly point is all full of palm trees? They're too close to each other for it to be like the gulf stream effect on Battle Zone alone (and Britain gets that but isn't that tropical).
    - Distortion World was very cool - nothing really like it before or to my knowledge since. I kinda wish there was more to do. I think instead of this Ramanas Park thing in BDSP, they should have had Giratina kidnapping legendaries and dragging them into the Distortion World in a rage after the Mt. Coronet events (could show a dark portal appearing as the main characters all leave the summit of Mt. Coronet, and then a distorted version of Giratina's cry to tease it).

Hoenn's my baby - Emerald first game - so I'll revisit that another day. Shout out to the Venice-based location - Altomare, remembering I have Bulbapedia at the tip of my fingers haha - in Pokémon Heroes. I haven't watched any of the films since I smashed through them all in my early peak Poké-mania in Gen IV up to the Zoroark film, but this is the only one other than 4Ever (which was the only VHS I could rent from my local library) that sticks in my mind. Great location, my favourite legendaries, and I remember the intro being great too. Probably helps that the two Miyazaki movies that have imprinted on me are Porco Rosso and Castle of Cagliostro, so of course an Italian-inspired setting would stick in the mind!

The soundtrack for Ecruteak City in the remakes is so beautiful, isn't it? 😍

Kanto: Celadon City – I always loved the upbeat music, the big city, the pleasant Grass-type gym ran by Erika, the shopping mall, the Pokémon Mansion with the Game Freak development staff, and the Game Corner. Another close favorite would be Fuchsia City, mainly because it had the same soundtrack as Celadon City, and the Safari Zone.
Johto: Olivine City – I used to enjoy playing Pokémon Crystal at night just to catch Staryu with my Good Rod along the coast of this port city. Staryu evolves into my all-time favorite Pokémon, Starmie. I also enjoyed the S.S. Aqua rides to Vermillion City. Ecruteak City is also a close second in the remakes simply because of that beautiful soundtrack in the background.
Hoenn: The crazy thing about Hoenn is that, despite me loving this region to death, I don't really have a specific favorite place in these games. I really enjoyed Slateport City and Lilycove City, but in the remakes, my actual favorite place was in the sky when Soaring in the Sky with Mega Latias via the Eon Flute. I loved that feature so much that I hope it returns in future games. If it counts, I also loved the Secret Base that I created as well.
Sinnoh: The Old Chateau – I love this haunted mansion strictly because of its spookiness and because it has Gastly, a Pokémon that evolves into one of my all-time favorite Pokémon, Gengar. It also contains Rotom, which is a Pokémon that I've grown to like from playing the Alola games. Anything involving Giratina is great as well, including the spooky Reverse World and Turnback Cave. Despite Sinnoh being my least favorite region, I commend Game Freak for putting a lot of effort into many spooky aspects of the game.
Unova: Castelia City – Check my location! I'm born and raised in Castelia City, and got love for Castelia City, so I've gots to rep for Castelia City! Best location in the entire Pokémon universe, hands down. I never thought I would ever see my hometown remade into a Pokémon game.
Kalos: Lumiose City – It reminds me a lot of Castelia City! It's a big city with so much to do, many places to shop, various Battle Buffets, which are great for training, is the setting for a good post-game storyline, and is easy to get lost if you're not careful!
Alola: Hau'oli City – Hard to choose because I love everything about this region. However, I love Hau'oli City because of the shopping and Battle Buffet. I spent a lot of time training my Pokémon at that Battle Buffet, competing with Queen, and had tons of fun doing it. Other places I enjoyed are Malie City because of its callback to Kanto and Johto, and the Ultra Crater in Ultra Space because I love Celesteela and seeing her take off like a rocket in the background. The Battle Tree was also very fun and fit the Alola look and feel as well.
Galar: – Isle of Armor. I love all the wild areas, but something about Isle of Armor is amazing. It has tons of Pokémon to catch, many different locations, soothing music, and has a nice Alolan feel to it. I also love Wyndon because it's a big city, has my favorite Battle Tower of all Pokémon games, good shops, and is the place where you hyper train your Pokémon. Hilbury is also a great place to be simply because of its soundtrack. I jam to that song every time I hear it.
Hisui: Jubilife Village – I enjoyed this place as fun little hub village when playing Pokémon Legends Arceus.

LOVE Jubilife Village! Or at least the score, only logged 4 hours on PL:A with barely any story progression. When I first started playing (in a rush to get the final event outfit I could before it ended, having been late to the game) obviously the intro was suitably weird, but the vibe I got when the Jubilife scored kicked in was just "Home". Probably one of my top 10 scores in the games (having admittedly skipped Gen VI and VII), even accounting for the sheer nostalgia I have for Hoenn, Sinnoh, and HGSS.

It really is a beautiful piece of music, isn't it? It's so serene and relaxing. You can just hear the sweet serenity in the music. I love it. It kind of reminds me of Ecruteak City's theme in the HeartGold and SoulSilver remakes. You seem to a great ear for good music, Amore!

    here's my list :)

Kanto - Lavender Town. Just a calm little place with some fun "spooky" mythos to it. Lotta nostalgia for this one.
Johto - I'll absolutely have to go with Ecruteak City. I love the traditional Japanese aesthetic here, and the music is top tier.
Hoenn - Route 113. A route covered in soot and ash at the foot of a volcano is just super interesting to me. I also love the music on this route, probably one of my favorite themes in any Pokémon game.
Sinnoh - Valley Windworks. Kind of a nostalgic location for me. I've also found a few random shinies here of all places.
Unova - Probably a more obscure choice, but I'll have to go with the Relic Castle. I just love the vibe of it. It's also the place to find one of my absolute favorite Pokémon (Volcarona).
Kalos - Lumiose City. While it may be a pain to navigate sometimes, there's a lot to do here, and I have fond memories of exploring it when I first played through X.
Alola - Malie City. Yep, still a sucker for that traditional Japanese aesthetic. The music is also incredible.
Galar - Something about Circhester always clicked with me. Snowy locations are always nice but this one just feels the best to me. Glimwood Tangle is another place that comes to mind, just because of how beautiful it looks.
Hisui - Probably the Snowfall Hot Spring in the Icelands. I kinda love the idea of a hot spring in the middle of a frozen tundra. Plus, you can find some fun encounters here.

    My turn!

Kanto - Cinnabar Island I like islands, they're cool, also the Fire type gym is cool (For I am Fire Type aficionado (my favorite pokemon is a psychic-fighting type-)) Also I like laboratories! And of course The future is now thanks to science-
Johto - Goldenrod City Despite choosing an Island for Kanto, I do indeed love the city! I mean I have always wanted to go to NYC, or London. Also the radio tower is cool. Plus there is a Computer Nerd who lives there (Bill) and I like computers! Although the one bad thing is H̴͈̣̒ě̴̺̎r̶̜̹͔̂̏. Whitney is a 10 year old spoiled brat with a pink cow. And I don't like that pink cow. (milk drink and lum berry flashbacks)
Hoenn - Fortree City Treehouse town. Enough said. (plus hoenn is my favorite region and everywhere there is cool)
Sinnoh - Jubilife City I have always loved this place, It feels like NYC!
Unova - Castelia City It is literally New York City! I love it so much. It feels alive more than any other city, cause people *move* (wow). Also It holds my favorite Gym leader ever. Burgh! I like art.
Kalos - Lumiose City Is it suprising? It is literally Paris! But Electricity! The only thing I don't like are the controls around the town in the game. Also an even better moment to add, The Future is now thanks to science-
Alola - Vast Poni Canyon This was a tie between this and the Mount Lanikila, but this won. It is like the grand canyon but better! Plus it houses the Dragon Trial!
Galar - Motostoke It houses a Fire Gym, plus I love the steampunk look. Always been a fan every since I saw it.
Hisui - Spear Pillar/Temple of Sinnoh Ok this place just looks epic. Plus (spoilers) Volo.

    Whoo, that took a while.

Some are a lot easier than others for me, for Johto it's definitely Goldenrod and Lavender Town for Kanto. Then it starts to get harder where to pick for the others, I think I've mostly picked on where I remember playing most fondly as well as the music that plays whilst there.
I loved places that had unique themes like Pacifidlog, Fortree & Sootopolis in Hoenn and Snowpoint city in Sinnoh.
In Unova it's actually definitely, Driftveil City, simply for the absolute belter of a track that plays there.
In Kalos Kiloude City I guess since I mostly remember a lot of time in the post game filling my dex up.
Alola I'd have to say Hau'oli City.
It might be a bit of a cop out to say the wild area for SWSH/Galar but it's honestly the area I remember the most lol and spent majority of my time playing the game in.
I haven't played enough of Legends yet to see everywhere in Hisui but again I guess it'd be the obvious answer of the homebase area lol.

I'm not sure if i have to list every region ever, but i'll name some from the games i've played.

In terms of SM/USUM, I like Heahea city. Especially in the nighttime. I LOVED the music in Ultra Moon, but i despise the daytime theme, funnily enough. The quietness of the night really shone through in that place.

When it comes to Black 2/White 2, i like Opelucid City, specifically the Black 2 version. I love the electric, futuristic modern city, and the music is great, as usual. They really embrace the future and run with it. Who cares about some crumbly ruin when we can build apartments there?

In ORAS, I loved Mauville. In the original Emerald, it was just a normal town. Then ORAS comes around and turns it into a MALL, of all things. There was so much stuff to do, and once again, the music is great. A close second would be Mossdeep, possibly out of nostalgia for the ORAS demo. Spent a lot of time there.

I've also played HG/SS and Platinum, but i'm not sure if i have any true favorites from those games. Maybe that'll change, i don't know.

Kanto:Fuchsia City. It's got a great mix of land and water, has a freaking zoo, just a good place to vibe and much as I dislike RB.
Johto:Lake of Rage. A bunch of Shiny Gyaradosi swimming around in front of your eyes is always a plus. And the music is underrated asf.
Hoenn:I liked Hoenn a lot but there isn't a specific place that stood out to me, so I'll just say Mauville City because it's impossible to get bored there.
Sinnoh:Eterna Forest/Old Chateau, everytime I go there I see twenty things I've missed the last time.
Unova:Icirrus CIty. My favorite gym, the music gives me Stranger Things vibes, Shadow Triad battles, and the climate affects the geography (in winter you can climb the snow hills).
Kalos:Lumiose City is great, but confusing as hell to navigate. Coumarine City over backwards Paris any day, its got a monorail and an amazing view of the water. I also don't imagine the quality of life being half bad.
Alola:Wherever the fire trial takes place, I forgot the name.
I don't really care for Galar, but Stow-on-Side is pretty unique.
