Feedback on The Multiverse!

What if there were discussion threads featuring a "what if" series? For example, what if 'x' happens... what would your region do? Pretty much differs from WoPC stuff, in which, these becoming discussion threads could really have ideas flowing and have good discussion at the same time. o:

Oh and this was said on the server, but, what if I bring back Community regions, but this time, not just make it Pokemon based? Like, people can suggest anything from the given topic. :]

It might be better to do a series of different themed community regions as we go just to make life easier. Basically do a Pokemon one and then when it's finished move on to something like fantasy or sci-fi or something. I definitely want to see the Community Region return again though.

Also seconding discussion threads.

While I do like making projects like the Community Regions, I feel that the process of making it so took so long, it was hard for me atleast to get into it, so I probably think this time around, we should probably shorten the amount of time decisions need to be made (maybe at the same pace UG phases lasts) so that it keeps on going on. We could also pattern what would we decide on based on Juno's 30 Days event.

I'd kind of like to keep the community region pokemon based.

We could do a community world as well though (: making it not a fan world but completely original. I guess I'd just like to separate the two events haha.

As for topics for discussion, I guess we can try making discussion threads like regular threads and see how messy it gets or how popular they get? We're trying things out here (:

I'm thinking of adding two new tags to replace Other Worlds: Alternate Worlds and Original Worlds.

AWs obviously being based on the work of others, OWs being based on original works.

I feel like Other Worlds is pretty confining and some people may want to see alternate takes on their favorite series.

I mean, alternate worlds of different franchises are still other worlds aren't they?

Sure, but if I don't particularly care to read about an alternate Spongebob Squarepants world, it'd be good to know so people aren't clicking around a bunch.

I know a few people planning AWs though, so maybe once they're up, we can discuss it more.

I think it's more confining to split up the Other prefix rather. In Other, you can do anything non-pokemon, and incorporate as much or as little of existing franchises as you like.

We are a pokemon forum. If several people start making AWs and it seems like we want a way to clearly distinguish them from OWs, maybe we can try a new prefix then? At this point, there just aren't any. Unless you believe that people would be inspired to create AWs if there was a specific tag? A la the "too much freedom can hinder creativity" philosophy?

It's possible. I don't really know the desire for Alternate over Original though. I just know a few are wanting to be made, but I doubt the tag is stopping them.

If people want an AW/OW tag, we can add it. Otherwise we can stick with Other World for now.

FFW got a split between original and other fanwork and I love that. And I think multiverse would benefit a lot from having a similar split- sometimes I want to look at original worlds only. Sometimes I want to see fanworks. I like a clear distinction so I know what I'm gettig into before even clicking. Also I think that people would be more inclined to make fanworlds if they knew it was a totally accepted thing? Like right now people see it as Pokémon and Original, and how are they supposed to know otherwise? How are they supposed to know that their fanworlds are also a great addition? I know WE know, but people coming in? Not so much.

May as well implement right off the bat so we have it and it encourages that style to grow. What harm is there in just having the tag there? :>

Let's try things out then. You're right there's not exactly any harm in it, haha.
