It seems weird that they created Diamond and Pearl, only added 2 fire types and then thought "oh hey let's have an Elite Four member who's a Fire type specialist". He's the only E4 member to use pokemon way outside of his typing. Bertha has a Sudowoodo and Aaron uses a Drapion but both fit their team theme. Flint however uses a Steel/Ground, Ghost/Flying and a Normal type.. It's just really weird decision all around.

The only thing that kind of "saves"??? Flint is the fact Volkner also shares this weirdness, giving that volker uses a water type and a normal type despite being an "electric gym leader". I mean I know there's only 3 electric pokemon in Diamond and Pearl but sheesh.

I think a bigger topic of discussion would be why has Diamond and Pearl got such a wonky Pokedex.

I really don't know what to say but vulkner was a great character but porly designed but the editors might had a deadline and maybe it was like 2am and they maybe just did screw up but that is the past let's look into the future and look into the current crisis of sword and shield ok!!!

I'm kind of in the same boat, Flint is such a weird character. They literally wanted to add Ronald McDonald into a pokemon game...

Probably should've had a Fire-type specialist as an early Gym Leader due to the lack of Fire-types in Diamond and Pearl, really didn't make much sense to have one in the Elite 4. Thankfully they fixed that problem in Platinum.

First of all, yellow shirts are great, don't at me.

I do agree that the hair is not working for him, but like, clothing-wise I'd only drop the suspender-belt (who even makes a suspender-belt?) and use actual shoes instead of flip-flops. Or drop the suspender-belt and change those pants to some shorts.

Also, while Flint isn't exactly the best design out there, he tried to be a supporting boyfriend to Volkner, trying to help him get out of his funk, so I'm cool with him.

Personally, I actually dig Flint's style. He gives me a very hippie sort of vibe with his afro and manner of speech.
