In the desert area of Route 111, you can find two fossils: the Claw Fossil (containing Anorith), and the Root Fossil (containing Lileep). You can only choose one of them though, because choosing one means that the other one sinks into the sand, lost forever.

Which fossil did you choose in your playthrough? Any reason you chose the one over the other? Is one of the two Pokemon created from the fossils your favorite?

I'm pretty sure I chose Root. Just because of the fact that in the original sapphire and ruby I always chose claw because I liked anorith and the claw fossil just sounded cooler to me then. xD

I picked the Root Fossil, just like how I did back in the original Ruby but also because I like Lileep best of the two. It's tanky plus Rock/Grass is a more unique type combination given it's the only evolution line that currently has it.

Same xD I went with the Root Fossil, because I like Cradily/Lileep the most out of the two ^^ Anorith/Armaldo is pretty cool too, but like Hika said, Grass/Rock is a really neat type combination.

I picked up the Claw Fossil in Alpha Sapphire. I like both of the Hoenn fossil Pokemon, but since you can only choose one I had to go with my preferred choice which is Anorith.

I love the desing od Armaldo, and Lileep is one of the pokemon I hate the desing th most. I always forget about this pokemon...But I love Armaldo!! <3

Root fossil, mainly because I like the way Lileep and Cradilly looks like.

So far the Root Fossil seems really popular! The Claw Fossil is pretty cool too and I'll definitely be grabbing it in AS. Anorith/Armaldo have great designs, and Bug/Rock is a unique typing too!

After my vote there is now a tie^^
I chose the Claw fossil, because Anorith looks slightly better. And you can get the other one easily nowadays anyway (I already did) so the decision wasn't that hard. Though, the 3rd generation fossil Pokémon are far from my favourites.

I voted wrongly, but I choose claw fossil. A bug/rock type is a unique match-up hampering with few resistance and weakness it's very interesting type to play with.

Root Fossil. I always picked Claw in the original RSE, and I actually wanted a Cradily in OR. Armaldo has a better design in my eyes, but that Grass STAB is great against all those Water-types you encounter throughout the game.

I'm with Root Fossil. Cradily'sbulky, so why not? :D
If Armaldohas the speed of Archeops/Aerodactyl… >:)

Claw simply because it's easy to use Armaldo to just sweep everything in the game to progress. Cradily has a more interesting role for competitive play and if that's your mojo, you'll be better off just transferring over a well-bred Lileep from another game and go from there.

Root since I find the Lileep line awesome. Was intending to use it on my story team but in the end I didn't have enough space. ;-; If I make another file I'm planning on using it properly since I haven't for a long time.

Like almost everyone else, I chose the Root fossil. Not only did I do so in the original, but like Hikamaru said, the Rock/Grass combination is pretty cool. Cradily also looks really cool in its final evolution. To me, Armaldo looks a bit weird, but that's probably because of the fact that its eyes are on the sides of its head, haha. I'm not too favorable of Bug types either, which is another reason why I chose the Root fossil in the end. :)
