I speak Portuguese and English fluently, Spanish well enough (due to Portuguese), can safely read French (but my listening ain't that great) and probably wouldn't die of hunger if you stranded me in Germany.

I mean, I can't say I ever spoke it fluently. But I had six years of Latin in school. :P

Dutch and German do have some things in common. I may not speak it. But whenever I stumble upon a sentence in Dutch I'm surprised at how I still manage to somewhat get the meaning of it.
