ok yall you get to magically disappear any game mechanic that was introduced after gen 1. i dont care why you choose what you choose. i just want to know what gen you would make it disappear in to cause chaos going forward. (bonus: how to fix it, without bringing back the disappered mechanic?)

like imagine playin gen 6 and getting used to fairy types and all. and then vanishing steel types from gen 7. scramble that type chart balance, baybee. or in gen 5 go: "you know what was great? psychic being bugged in gen 1, let's go back to that". or "you know what? no, we have limited bag capacity again". that kind of chaos.

i'd delete mega evolution entirely. never existed. poof.

But, uh you said gen i? In that case, HMs from the very beginning. I'd just replace them w/items that fill the same role. But you wouldn't get them until you have certain badges, like HMs.

I'd get rid of natures. It's annoying if a Pokemon falls behind because a nature makes them weaker, slower, or frailer.

Aside from that, I wouldn't miss IV's and EV's either, although some special attacking Pokemon have to rely on Hidden Power for coverage. Maybe add a way to change Hidden Power to the desirable type? Or give them more moves of different types?

I'd just want to remove the mechanic that makes multi target moves about 20% weaker in battles where they can actually hit multiple enemies.
Its just a weird balancing move to me.

Now blizzard will actually do 120 damage.

the only pokemon available now is alolan dugtrio

    - no items in battle
    - remove the ability to play in Switch-Mode, permanently locking people into Set-Mode
    - fainted Pokemon disappear

You Nutzlocke-people would probably not mind as much. However, those who don't play by those rules... :D

    - no EV gain
    - IVs set to 0 for every player Pokemon
    - every step is a random encounter
    - remove X-Items and level cap the player's Pokemon below the opponent's
    - evolved Pokemon give as much EXP as their unevolved forms
    - one time use TMs, but your opponent still gets good movesets

I could do this all day :D

tired of pokemon games being easy?

    want an element of challenge?

why not just delete every single move in existence except Metronome! with Metronome battles, you never know what you're going to get, and you're as equally likely to win as you are to lose! you could one shot your opponent, and vice-versa can also be just as true :D

no cap i'd want to play a game like that. does anyone know of any hack or fangame that's done this?

another thing i've just thought of, just minor, but make it so pokemon can only learn moves of their typing. no more bs coverages, but it goes both ways! (and indeed people will only want to use dual types anymore)

No idea but its probably an relatively easy fix to do.
No guarantee I can do it, but I'll add it to my list of things to try.
