How difficult can it be for you to not look at your phone (or tablet) or put it down? If it's easy for you to ignore your device, what are some tips you might have for those who wish to not be as addicted to their device?

I use my phone at work more than I should. .__. So yeah, I'm pretty stuck to my phone.

in my defense though, it's oftentimes super dead, so...

I use it a lot, I'm on it right now on a work break actually! But I'm pretty good at not using it for the sake of it I think. I basically never use it if I'm physically socialising. Sometimes if I'm in my flat I'll just leave it in another room for a while too and that doesn't bother me.

The only time my phone is down is when I'm not playing any games, so pretty hard. But, when my phone is charging, it's usually also down. lol

For my phone, it's usually pretty easy to do. My iPad is the hardest because I use it a lot to write and what not. That tends to put me into a hyperfocus mode a lot of time. ><

I guess in the instance my opening post, tablets could fall under the categorization. It's just...so few people use tablets these days compared to 6-8 years ago.

I think I'm really fucked up there, ngl. As much as I try to put it down I can't stay more than 5 minutes without it or I get bored, unless the internet connection is really crap, or I'm doing some work, or my teacher is actually good at making someone interested in the class that one only applies to algebra and at certain points to calculus, tho

When I'm doing something that requires my full attention like working, I can ignore my phone for hours, but even at work when it gets really slow , the temptation to check my phone every five minutes gets really strong. Like I work a lot of night shifts when we dont get a lot of customers, so when I'm waiting for someone to show up at the check out lane, I tend to check twitter to When I'm not busy though, I will spend most of the day looking at my phone. And even if I'm just hanging with a friend, I'll just pull my phone out when nothing is really happening.

I'm never really on my phone unless I'm writing (off my computer), which is pretty rare. The rare occasions I've pulled my phone out in public has almost always resulted in some old woman mentioning how kids are always on their phones nowadays, lmao. Then they'll roll their eyes when I say I'm writing. Not even descript "writing" -- could be an essay, could be poetry, could be shit, but they never take it seriously regardless.

Now my computer is a different story. Sometimes, I feel hopelessly addicted, and then other times I'll go into a depression and avoid my computer for most of the day. And then other times, the depression is triggered by stress and I wind up in that hopeless addiction. Always feels like some sort of cycle. Who knows if I'll ever break it, given how much I do on the computer, both productive and unproductive.

I'm also more likely to play a pc game than a computer game, like Oblivion or something on the gameboys (played Animal Crossing on the 3DS on my computer just to prove that I could, lol; my DS was right next to me the whole time). Or I'll play something on one of my consoles. I suppose them all being hooked up to splitters and such makes it just as easy for me to go over to my entertainment stand and pick one out as it is for someone else to pick up their phone and play a mobile game.

Some people really are way too addicted to their phones but sometimes I can't say anything because there are times I'm way too addicted to my pc.
