Question of the Day

I use Quick Balls most often! The x4 bonus makes it so easy to catch Pokemon with. If it doesn't work, then I just keep throwing Pokeballs at it...then if that doesn't work, Timer Balls :D

Question of the Day

Do you ever wait before evolving your Pokemon? (So for example, if you possess the proper stone to evolve it)

Do you ever wait before evolving your Pokemon? (So for example, if you possess the proper stone to evolve it)
I normally wait because pre-evolve might know a good move sometimes and some fully-stone evolve do doesn't learn a move efficiently than pre-evovle also Pre-evolve might know good moves at certain level while evolve one would be take a bit long time to get learn a good moves

I only do this when it comes to learning moves, like how most Pokémon who evolve via an evolutionary stone stop learning moves, I'll hold off on evolving them until they learn better moves (like how Floette learns Moonblast and Petal Dance at levels 46 and 51, but Florges does not). Other than that, I don't put off evolution unless I'm doing a NFE challenge.

What kind of Pokeball do you use most often for catching Pokemon?

I like Dusk Balls, Luxury Balls and Quick Balls. All their designs really appeal to me and they're cool to have, and they have good use, even if the Luxury Ball's power is weak.

Do you ever wait before evolving your Pokemon?

Sometimes I do. To name one, in my aforementioned Black 2 Challenge Mode Nuzlocke, I kept my Krokorok as a Krookodile until Level 48 so it could get Earthquake early.

And in my main game with X, sometimes I keep Pokémon from evolving if they're two stages and wait until they're one level away from their final form so they gain more EXP until then.

I tend to wait until they learn the moves that I absolutely need for that Pokemon, but if it's something whose moveset mainly gets the most from TM moves then I won't care as much and still evolve them anyway.

Do you ever wait before evolving your Pokemon?

For me, it's either they evolve when they need to, or I would put an everstone on them so they never evolve. With evolution stone Pokemon, I tend to wait till about level 20 or so before using it.

When evolving with a stone, I usually wait until the Pokemon has a decent moveset before evolving it. If it evolves by leveling up, I usually don't delay it, since it'll still learn (mostly) all the same moves, albeit at a slower rate.

Question of the Day

What's been your favorite Battle Facility so far?

Do you ever wait before evolving your Pokemon?

Depends on if they learn a certain move that they can't before evolving, such as is the case with stone evolutions.

What's been your favorite Battle Facility so far?

I enjoyed the Battle Factory in Hoenn, it's fun having to battle and strategize with Pokémon you didn't raise yourself.

What's been your favorite Battle Facility so far?
I enjoy mostly on HGSS and DPPT facility. I don't enjoy 5th and 6th gen facility it just lack of fun mixture.

What's been your favorite Battle Facility so far?

PWT in B2/W2, which I think is quite like a battle facility thanks to all the competitive-strength movesets I see around. I also like the concept of battling old Gym Leaders in one place.

Which region has your favorite set of starters?
Biased, but Hoenn. Emerald was my first game and I've come to like all three of them most overall out of any other region. My Blaziken Blazer is my old pal from 10 years ago, so the Torchic line has a special place in my heart. <3 Kalos is in second. I absolutely adore Fennekin and Chespin <3 I love both Fennekin's evolutions, especially Braixen, but I don't really care much for Chespin's. Froakie is alright, but I really love Greninja. :) And finally, third place is a tie between Johto and Kanto. I love the Cyndaquil and Chikorita lines all the way through, but I like all 3 of the Kanto starters, and both Mega Charizard formes are just so badass. <3

Have you ever blacked out in a wild Pokemon encounter?
I don't remember, but probably. Maybe during legendary encounters. Which makes me think, realistically, wouldn't it be like, really awkward if that actually happened? Like, you're facing against a damn god of the Pokémon world, and all of the sudden you have to leave to heal up your Pokémon while it just waits there for you to come back, and literally nothing happens in the story until you defeat or catch it. It's just so silly {XD}

What kind of Pokeball do you use most often for catching Pokemon?
I usually go by aesthetic preference, haha :P But a lot of the time I also try to use a ball that would up the catch rate a bit. Sometimes I use a ball that would help the Pokémon's performance (for instance- using a Luxury Ball on Furfrou would boost the power of Return, which in itself is already a STAB move). I often forget to use Quick Balls at the start and Timer Balls during long battles on Pokémon that I'd have a tough time catching, I should pay attention more often :P

Do you ever wait before evolving your Pokemon? (So for example, if you possess the proper stone to evolve it)
Back when I didn't really care much about aesthetic preference, I think I always evolved right away. Nowadays, not only do I really like to keep some Pokémon unevolved for a little while longer because I like their designs (I'm desperately hanging onto my precious Braixen and Amaura in XY currently ;-; ), but I also have discovered that unevolved Pokémon learn moves faster than their evolved forms, which is a nice tradeoff :P

What's been your favorite Battle Facility so far?

I enjoyed the Battle Factory in Hoenn, it's fun having to battle and strategize with Pokémon you didn't raise yourself.
I second this :P Back in Emerald, I wasn't really keen on training so many of my Pokémon to the point where I'd have multiple ones level 50 or higher, so I often tried, but never really liked the other Frontier facilities- Battle Factory was a lot of fun for me because you never know what you got. However, I'm much more knowledgeable on the mechanics of the games, and it's quite easier for me to train up to Lv 50, I'm finding the Battle Maison a hell a lot of fun, I do it quite frequently now. :)

What kind of Pokeball do you use most often for catching Pokemon?

Initial playthrough the six set party members will all be in standard Pokeballs. Mild OCDness.

Then all Quick Balls if available, otherwise a backup of Ultra Balls as insurance. Dusk Balls when applicable.

Do you ever wait before evolving your Pokemon?

Always. Even stopping natural evolution for the sake of learning certain moves faster. You can always use Heart Scales nowadays.

What's been your favorite Battle Facility so far?

Toss-up between the Battle Maison and Battle Subway. Straightforward and uncomplicated.

My favorite is the Battle Frontier in Emerald! I liked the Battle Frontier in 4th gen too, but the one in Emerald was really something special for me, for some reason. I thought the formats were more creative, and it was more of a challenge for me, which may have something to do with why I liked it more. I've been wanting the Battle Frontier to come back for the loooongest.

Question of the Day

Are there any Pokemon you wish had better stats and/or were better competitively?

Are there any Pokemon you wish had better stats and/or were better competitively?

Butterfree comes to mind since it really doesn't have great stats as it is, but I would consider it a favorite of mine, so it would be nice if it were a little stronger. Perhaps they'll bring a new Mega Evolution for it considering that Beedrill has one.

Are there any Pokemon you wish had better stats and/or were better competitively?

I'm with Wiicked on this one. I've always wanted Butterfree to be stronger. It would also be nice if the Johto starters got a bit of a boost, as they're the weakest of the starter trios from what I've seen/experienced.

Are there any Pokemon you wish had better stats and/or were better competitively?
Butterfree needs to be buff also johto needs to be bit stronger just like the other starter trios on other region.

One of my favorites is Florges, and while it is great in battle, but Flower Veil doesn't have much use as far as abilities go. Also, Steelix is another favorite of mine, but it sadly doesn't have much utility due to its low speed stat and its frailty to special attacks.

Are there any Pokemon you wish had better stats and/or were better competitively?

Nope. If I find a mon who is weak, I don't have to like it, and most of the mons I like are strong. If I feel someone could be slightly improved, I can hope that it gets an evo/mega.

Yea, I see what you mean. Some of us prefer our Pokemon strong hehe :P

On that subject though...

Question of the Day

What's the weakest Pokemon you've used in a playthrough?

Are there any Pokemon you wish had better stats and/or were better competitively?

Luxray and Amaura/Aurorus. I'm not completely aware of why people say Luxray is poor competitively, is it just that it doesn't have good enough moves that are STAB and/or properly complement its stats? As for Amaura and Aurorus, I love them both so much, and I like their unique typing, but that unfortunately gives them quite a few weaknesses, and I think they could benefit from a slightly better moveset. For instance, why on earth don't they know Power Gem?

That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there's more.

What's the weakest Pokemon you've used in a playthrough?

I think some of my Platinum playthroughs had me use an Ambipom, but if it has Technician it's at least something decent. I was mainly inspired by Dawn from the anime at the time. But the real cream of the cake was my original Ruby, where I had a Roselia... but granted it was a standalone Pokemon back then.
