In each game, when we catch Pokemon, we are able to choose which ball we want use. There are a variety of different options. Each ball has a different catch rate, as well as design and maybe even purpose. My question to you all is simple: which Pokeball do you find yourself using the most? Do you use this ball simply for the design? Or do you use it for other reasons?

For me, my favorite would be the Luxury Ball. I love its sleek design

Mostly ultra balls and dusk balls, other than that there tons of balls out there would do better. Why can't we just get balls exclusively for HG/SS and port it to another gen?

I mostly use certain Poke Ball types for convenience, particularly the Quick Ball and Dusk Ball. But then there's others that have nice designs, such as the Luxury Ball, Dive Ball and Heal Ball.

I do feel it's sad the Apricorn Poke Balls are confined to just being in the Johto games, it really sucks for those who wanted to see them in other games.

I actually like using regular Pokéballs when I can, but I use Dusk Balls quite a bit too. They're my favorite ball for the tougher Pokémon to catch that tend to be in caves, and if not, I just wait until night time.

The dark-colored Poke Balls (Ultra Ball, Luxury Ball, Dusk Ball) and the sleekly-designed Poke Balls (Luxury Ball, Premier Ball, Cherish Ball, Anime!Sport Ball, GS Ball/Park Ball, Dive Ball, and the Master Ball with its lovely spray of stars) tend to be by favorite Poke Ball designs. Most of the game designs are pretty good, although the Dream Ball just looks BLEH. :x

As for catch-rates, the Repeat Ball is usually my go-to for Generation 3 if I need a scapegoat or utility Pokemon... The Quick Ball will likely be useful in post-Generation 3 games.. Other than that, each Poke Ball is designated to catch a certain sort of Pokemon, paying no mind to the capture rate or "intent" of the Poke Ball's use.

I do feel it's sad the Apricorn Poke Balls are confined to just being in the Johto games, it really sucks for those who wanted to see them in other games.

This issue is an intense aggravating flaw for me for all of the post-Generation 4 games so far, especially since Game Freak takes the time to have the Apricorn Poke Ball designs repeatedly sprited/modeled and coded into each game that subsequently follows Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver (to apparently maintain consistency for any Pokemon originating in Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver). >:( Seriously, Game Freak, just do what you did with the Boon Island/Two Island Market Stall and have a random salesman import the things from Johto and sell them for a reasonable price! You don't see Devon Corporation of Hoenn hogging all of their Timer Balls and Repeat Balls; why must the Apricorn Poke Balls of Johto be any different in exclusivity/rarity?

Luxury and Dusk balls are my all time favorite. Then second place goes to quick balls for being op and Timer Balls for also looking almost as cool as Luxury and Dusk balls.

    I REALLY LOVE BALLS

I usually use Ultra Ball in games due to its Awesome design and with high Pokemon catch Probability. But I also sometimes use Luxury Ball Because of its sleek design with the ability to make wild Pokemons friendly :3 (That makes them more cute :P)

Btw i also use Master Ball but its is only one or two in the games that makes me sad :(

Ultra balls, I'm pretty sure. I don't tend to think too much about how the ball actually looks (aside from a glance at my screen and "oh man that one stands out compared to all the others"), so I'd rather go for something practical to use.

And as I just want to catch things and don't care much for other effects normally: yeah, ultra balls. Just give me something that will help me catch pokemon easily and I am good.

Design-wise: Pokeball, Dusk ball, luxury ball

I probably use those the most, but for catching legendaries, I use:

    Ultra ball, masterball

Yeah, it's something I just don't get, making these Apricorn Balls only available in Johto games and replace them with Poke Balls that have different effects in other games (the Nest Ball is pretty much a recoloured Level Ball, and the Friend Ball being identical to the Luxury Ball if you look at the effect of them) but I guess these newer balls have more beneficial features because when you look at it, most of the Apricorn Balls had some pretty useless effects such as the Moon Ball being limited to certain Pokemon (some of which didn't even appear in the Johto games) or the Love Ball (increased catch rate when used on Pokemon of the opposite gender as the one you have active).

I ALWAYS use Ultra ball because it is the best pokeball, only second to the masterball. At least that's what I think. Its design isn't bad too!

Another favorite of mine is the Premier Ball I love its design! But I really think it isn't that useful catching pokemons, sadly.

Ehh, apricorn balls are meh in my opinion. Kurt never made good balls for me, if I remember correctly lol.

    - I definitely find myself using the Dusk ball a lot more than I even need to use it. It's animation whilst catching a Pokemon is nice as well as the fact that the ball aesthetically looks nice.

luxury ball def has the best design, but it always seems to never work when I'm trying to catch a pokemon I actually plan to use, which is frustrating!!

I tend to use quick balls because they're well.. quick and easy. otherwise i'm a classic great and ultra ball kind of girl tehehe.

I've always wanted to get a pokemon in a moon ball because I think the concept and design is really cool, but it's never panned out

I really like the Dive Ball. It's pretty useless outside the water, but I like it's blue design.

Apart from that I also really like the Cherish Ball, not only because it's all red which looks oddly cool but because of the rainbow effect when a Pokémon is released. I wish we could get them to use somehow.

Yeah; I read about how some of the Hoenn Poke Balls made some of the Apricorn Poke Balls "redundant" in a way... Well, we have a few seemingly-redundant Pokemon (looking at you, Phione!), moves (such as Recover and Slack Off), items (elemental type-enhancing items and the elemental Plates if Arceus and Multi-Type aren't involved), and Abilities (Insomnia and Vital Spirit), although at least some of the "redundancies" for Moves, Abilities, and Items are for thematic/flavor purposes like Slakoth "slacking off" (as well as escaping things like Item Clauses and the effects of the move Imprison); I honestly don't mind redundant Poke Balls (especially given that I use them for their designs more than for their catch rates {XD}) - and even then, at least each Poke Ball's catch rate/effect (save for the Premier Ball, and possibly the Cherish Ball and Dream Ball) is unique.

Ooh, a rainbow "Pokemon-sent-out" effect? Pretty! Sigh...I wish event Pokemon were just given out in Ultra Balls and the distributors call it a day - are event-exclusive Ribbons not enough? The Cherish Ball looks too cool to go unused in normal gameplay..

The Dusk Ball, Quick Ball and Luxury Balls are the ones that I like the designs of the most, and what I end up catching most of my Pokémon in. But sometimes i'll use the Dive Ball and Timer Ball as well, the latter is more useful as of Generation V since they made it max out in usability after 10 turns, and the clock that shows when you send out something from it looks cool, too.

When catching just for the Dex it's usually Poke Balls or Ultra Balls or Quick Balls. If something a little special I'd try with a Premier Ball. I like the Net Ball most though. Dive Balla are also cool and the Heal Ball is cute!
