They're available on Amazon, but right now they're worth about as much as the game itself:

As good as the gamecube controller is, I don't think I'll be getting an adapter any time soon. The Wii U gamepad is actually alright if you take the time to get used to it.

I don't think I'll be getting a GC adapter until Nintendo starts offering Gamecube games on Wii U Eshop

Some hacker was able to find some interesting data files from Smash Bros. for Wii U: https://playeressence.com/smash-bro...horus-men-might-have-been-planned-originally/

The files include a Dr. Mario stage, followed by data for the viruses as bosses, A Rhythm Heaven icon that's grouped with the character selection (meaning the Gematsu leak was correct after all), and an Electroplankton icon, Brain Age icon, and Swapnote icon grouped with the stage selection. It also includes the Miiverse icon for the upcoming stage.

I would use a Gamecube controller for the WiiU version, but i don't think that my controllers could handle it. I mean, 2 of them don't properly work quite right anymore, and the last one will probably die sometime in the future. Smash would just kill it a lot faster.

So the WiiU Pro Controller thing is probably what I'll do.

I've looked in many stores/retailers, and basically, very. Your best bet would be to buy one on eBay if you don't mind spending a fortune. Why they would practically discontinue such an awesome product makes no sense. Sometimes, nintendo's logic is beyond me.

Ah, okay. Thank you both for letting me know. And yeah, what the heck is up with them discontinuing such an important product? Man...

I was thinking about using one of those "Fight Pads" (like this one), but I have doubts on their performance because they're basically just third-party Classic Controllers that have the GameCube controller's layout.

Good news, everyone. A new patch update for the Wii U version is out, and it adds 15 already-existing stages into 8-Player Smash. Here are the stages available:

- Mario Galaxy (Omega)
- Mario Circuit (Brawl: both regular and Omega)
- Luigi's Mansion
- Pyrosphere (regular)
- Norfair (regular)
- Great Cave Offensive (Omega)
- Lylat Cruise (both regular and Omega)
- Pokémon Stadium 2 (both regular and Omega)
- Town & City (both regular and Omega)
- Smashville (regular)
- Wii Fit Stuidos (regular)

This is actually really great news for me, the selection for Eight player smash was absolutely abysmal before. I think Luigi's Mansion, Pyrosphere, and Pokemon Stadium 2 sound great.

Spoiler:

No balance patch yet for Hoo Ha (Diddy) yet but with Apex running I can see why they might postpone it for now. (I hope it'll come in the next update)

Still, more stages for 8 player mode is nice :>

Is the WiiU version less laggy for online play or is it the same as the 3DS version?
I think that is dependent entirely on your internet connection as well as that of the people you're playing with. In my experience, I've noticed that Wii U matches have a tendency to be a lot smoother than 3DS matches most of the time. (I'm basing this off of the typical connection strength against many random players on For Glory mode in each game.)

Maybe most of the people playing on 3DS have crappier internet connections? I dunno...

The only lag I have had on the WiiU version is the dreaded lag pause every few minutes or the input lag issue where the game is fine, but the input takes a moment to move. That seems to be the killer during lag since players are trying to play effectively, but then their input is not moving to their key.

There is still lag, but it's very unnoticeable unlike the 3Ds's online play. I've had HUGE input lag with the 3Ds, sometimes lag spikes that interrupt the game, and I've had it disconnect entirely. But so far with the Wii U version there's hardly any, if no lag for me.

That's one of the biggest downsides to the 3DS version really.

The sheer amount of lag can make it almost unplayable online.

Has anyone else played Project M?

I have it now...
and it's my new favourite Smash game...

:D

Mewtwo is so fun...

Speaking of Project M, they finally did it....

Ironically, he works really well too. Just watch the video and his movesets, they are very nice.

Yes! Project M is probably the one Smash game (other than Melee) that I've poured hours and hours into practicing my tech skill. I'm really happy that Link and Ivysaur are viable, as those two are my mains. It's a shame that Link's Aerial Glide Toss bomb recovery was made almost completely obsolete in 3.5... (I mean, jeez, I spent literally FOREVER perfecting that thing!)

Ivysaur is great! It's of my Brawl mains/secondaries, and to see it be way more viable in Project M makes me happy. Plus its new green palette swap is its Shiny coloration!

I'm yet to be able to perform any substantial tech in a match, as I need to practice my wavedashing heaps to get even that right and other techs. But I do hope there's another Link tech that you can spend literally FOREVER perfecting and it doesn't become useless in the next update! :)

But yeah, I'm loving this game so far because of how fast it is. Mewtwo was the first character I tried, and while initially I couldn't quite get used to it, after exploring the character it's like it's perfect. Everything about Mewtwo just clicks with me.
The thing is, it feels a lot like it's a Luigi but with his flaws filled in. It's really weird. Mewtwo and Luigi both have fast aerials, and are both floaty. But it feels like Mewtwo would be Luigi if Luigi's flaws in range and aerial mobility were removed, and Mewtwo also has much better recovery, as well as better KO setups.
Mewtwo feels like an upgraded Luigi that makes him a high-tier character that's much more powerful than Luigi ever could be because of Luigi's said flaws.

Speaking of Project M, they finally did it....

Spoiler:
It's so beautiful...

I'm kind of ashamed to admit that after all these years of being too lazy to really look into Project M, only now do I really want to install it because of this preview Ridley trailer...
