If you have kids than it's probably better to get a new car. A used car is much cheaper than a new car but the parts are more likely to fail since they have been used more or possibly damaged in the past. Finding a good used car is also tough since the people selling them often dress up their cars to make them look nicer than they are. Always check a used car's history before purchasing one and have a professional go by to inspect it if you find one that seems to be worth purchasing.
