- Try to keep conversation flowing between posts - all posts must be relevant to Pokémon as this is Pokémon Trivia!
...and as you may have noticed, there is absolutely no flowing conversation here lately and I miss the times where we could have a good chat in these kind of games. Over the last weeks, I feel I've constantly brought up new topics and when that didn't work I focused more on trying to engage in conversation with people, which didn't seem to work either. I think I've even literally reminded you to keep a flowing conversation going on, but when I look at the above three posts for example, there's is literally nothing said there and to be honest I'm getting really tired of this. I can understand a conversation to die down on its moments, but I sometimes have the feeling some of you don't even take any effort to follow the rules (or haven't even read them to begin with). This game is primary meant to be a chat and if you're not into that, no worries, there are comparable games without chat, such as The Great Pokémon Battle and Rate the Pokémon above you. So a long story short: try to engage in the conversation, it makes this game a lot more fun!
Let's start with a simple topic, shall we? What are your favorite locations in the Pokémon world? (This can be towns, routes, mountains, you name it.)
While I understand that it's difficult to sustain a flowing conversation, I can definitely see your point. As much as I'd also love for this thread to be a fun place to chat like before, we can't really do anything to enforce a conversation here (especially since the rules say "try"), but what we CAN do is gently encourage it! I know this is what you've been doing up until now, and I very greatly appreciate it, Lycan. I'm sorry I haven't been putting as much effort into this thread as I used to, but I admire your courage for bringing this up, and thank you so much for not giving up on this thread.
Hmm, this one is a toughie! I love locations with vivid geography (especially in Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos), but the only ones I can think of right now are Undella Town, Snowbelle City, and Kalos Route 19. It has been a pretty long time since I've actually played the games, which makes things harder to remember. :/
Ah, then yes. Just be persistent and keep doing what you've been doing up until now (like encouraging others), and it'll pay off eventually! :DOh no, I don't want to enforce things, more like encourage and inspire people to chat a bit more. And yes, the rules say "try", so then it'd be great if people actually, you know, try. :)
You're right that the newer games have more beautiful locations with more modern spriting/3D models. Kanto was very bland, there wasn't much special too see either, besides the ghost tower in Lavender Town.
My favorite locations are those that aren't very straight-forward to visit and add a third dimension to the game, like the underwater routes and soaring in the sky in Hoenn and the Underground in Sinnoh. I spent a lot of time in Diamond looking for fossils and evolution stones there, but constantly ended up with what felt like millions of heart scales and hard stones.
If I have to pick a location on ground level I'd say the Ruins of Alph, a mysterious place filled with puzzles and hidden entrances.
Sinnoh's Underground is the main reason why I have so many hours in my Pearl game. I really hope they bring something like that back in any future game.My favorite locations are those that aren't very straight-forward to visit and add a third dimension to the game, like the underwater routes and soaring in the sky in Hoenn and the Underground in Sinnoh. "Riding on Lapras", one of the Japanese ending songs from the Orange Islands season, can be adorable at times. It's Kasumi [Misty] singing!
